Check-in was efficient, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Throughout our stay, we experienced no issues with the water supply, electrical, or sewage systems. Our pull-through site accommodated our 35-foot trailer without difficulty. While the Wi-Fi, as is common in RV parks, was not optimal for streaming, it was sufficient for basic phone and tablet use. The water had a noticeable chlorine taste, but our in-line filter and Brita pitcher resolved this. Paducah was conveniently located, offering a wider selection of stores and restaurants than anticipated. The campground offered various activities during our visit. Each morning, a vendor sold fresh baked goods, jams, and jellies, which we found to be very good. Mark Cope provided a BBQ wagon, and his BBQ and potato salad were also excellent. The park also hosted an ice cream social and a wine tasting by "Purple Toad Winery," a family-owned winery in Paducah, KY. There is a lake on-site where fishing is available, and bait is sold. We will certainly choose Fern Lake Campground for our next visit.

Flush toilets, antibacterial hand soap and spacious hot showers. Bathrooms are meticulously clean by campground standards. Camp sites are spaced nicely for privacy, clean and well kept up. Water is easily available and drinkable. Jennifer the camp manager is the nicest person and will help you in anyway she can to make sure you have the best experience. Ice and wood sold there. I loved that quiet times are posted from 10pm to 6am. We definitely will be back here. During Covid this was the only place we could go and felt safe.

The hookups were perfect. We bought firewood and asked for the pit to be cleaned out (we didn't have a shovel). When the fella came to deliver wood, he cleaned out the pit. We told him we we're making s'mores. He actually scrounged up a couple pieces of scrap wood and ran it back over to us. Great guy!!! The girl in the office said they didn't have fire-starter, but said we could walk around by the woods and pick up kindling.

I have always lived near ReelFoot lake and I grew up going there on special occasions. I had never…read morebeen on the boat tours until recently however. I had the opportunity on my day off from work to come visit this park in all of its beauty. My first boat outing was with their seasonal ranger Jewell West, she was very knowledgeable and personable! She was definitely passionate about the eagles, the park, our beautiful state, and the preservation of our state's natural wonders. On our outing we saw nearly 16 eagles, plenty of osprey, and many other native species. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the morning, and a very beautiful and relaxing ride! That afternoon I came back for the history of the lake boat ride, it was shorter than the eagle spotting venture, but was also with seasonal ranger West. She painted a unique picture about the geological origins of the lake and its troubled past. It was very interesting, and I really enjoyed hearing about it while actively seeing it in person. The facilities at the state park are brand new and they are amazing. They have very enriching and hands on ways to experience this park's history and biological elements. Many of their facilities are brand new due to increased funding and repairs after a tornado a few years ago. The flora and fauna of the lake are immensely beautiful. This place is most definitely a hidden gem for west Tennessee! I look forward to coming back this July for the 250th anniversary of the USA celebration.

It's a sunburn ride away from Woodlawn...I definitely got that today! Our friends ordered BBQ sandwiches with slaw. No one offered them napkins, BUT I am an always be prepared kinda lady and had Charmin wet wipes in our tour pack. Ya never know! The BBQ, AMAZING! It always is. There is a campground/RV park in behind the bar and General Store. Very clean and well maintained. I've stayed there a couple of nights in the past. I've been told that on Tuesday's they have an amazing steak dinner. I've never been there for that, but I'm looking forward very much to trying it soon. Of course, in my Yelp Elite fashion, I will update my review!

They have…read moreover 100 camp sites, bath/shower house, pool, store, bar, live band, pavilion, they cook every weekend night. Very family oriented unless you decide to go to the bar that is. The owner Mary was very accommodating to our family and always very warm and welcoming when we stopped in the store. All the campers were the same. We were tent camping but Mary let us set up in front of a rental camper so we could use the electric to charge to boat and she was even gave us access to the camper to use the restroom and wash our dishes. She ever notified us that a neighboring camper was putting their camper up for sale and was just what we were looking for. We are now considering buying the camper and having a place up there of our own.

Do not book blindly! In certain months, they turn the water off at almost all campsites to prevent…read morefreezing. (I'm not sure why they don't invest in frost free water pipes.) We booked in March and they did not communicate that we would not have running water on our site and we booked a full hookup site! They said it was on the website in fine print. That is not helpful or obvious. There is also a utility of some sort on premises that has an extremely loud motor!! It goes on and off 24/7. We stayed there in 2021 and it was doing the same thing. We thought it would be fixed by now and that it surely was just a problem then.....but no....it is 2026 and still doing the same thing. Not a peaceful place unless you are staying far, away from that utility. They said it was a bad motor that needs to be fixed. Well, why don't they fix it? It has pretty views of the lake but we will not be staying there again until we make sure there's no loud utility and that we have FULL hookup.
