This is the best full-service mail center in Memphis. I've been to the Mail Center at least five times and they have always found me a good shipping service at a fair price. They can send packages and mail via USPS, UPS, or Fed-Ex. It's convenient to enter the destination and be able to see the prices and choose your service all in one place. You don't even have to compare prices before you go. They have computers to print documents, stationary, envelops, and everything else that you need to send a letter or package. In my experience, they are about 30% than Fed-Ex for most of these items and the people working there know a lot more about shipping and how to prepare your items. They have a notary service, which was ten dollars for one document when I used it. They take passport photos and took the time to read the instructions and verify the photos with me. The Mail Center is a lot more than just a place to drop off your packages. They can also notarize something, assist you with making copies, and according to their website they can also help you sell unwanted items on Ebay. I walked in needing only two things.... a front and back copy of my driver's license and a place to drop off my pre-paid overnight UPS envelope. Rather than having me wait for the self-service copy machine to warm up, the nice man working at the store (owner perhaps) offered to make the copy for me using the already warm machine behind the counter. "What else can we help you with today?" he asked. I answered, "I just need to drop off this envelope. Will it go out today?" He assured me that it would and he refused to charge me for the copy. It may have been small gesture but it was appreciated. My envelope made it to it's Ohio destination by next morning as expected. Based on the way I was treated as a non-paying customer, I will not hesitate to give my business to The Mail Center in the future. read more

I've used the Mail Center constantly while I've been going to school in Memphis. They have always been friendly and wonderful to deal with. I'm an artist and that means I send off a lot of art and other fragile or weirdly shaped items. They have a good variety of packing supplies in case I don't have any that fit the artwork, and in many cases they've helped me by adding cardboard backing or other materials to make sure it's super safe getting mailed out. If you go to Memphis College of Art, you can get a discount there- which I absolutely love, and their cool way of calculating shipping costs has saved me a ton of money too. I've sent packages using this store before as a paying customer. No problems. But today dropping off a package being returned with a pre-paid UPS label for a defective product, I was refused a receipt. I politely asked why and the owner was quite hostile, saying (paraphrasing a bit) "You guys just use me as a drop off, I don't make any money off you, I'm not giving you a receipt!" I will not use him again, I'll gladly go out of my way to use another less convenient location - both as a paying and a "non-paying" customer. read more

A great place with warm personal service! I needed to ship some furniture and other items to two of my children - one on the east coast and one on the west coast. I called several moving companies, with no success. Some would not do it at all, and others would charge megabucks. I went to the Mail Center to ask Mark which company he would recommend. Immediately he said, "No, the best way is to let me pack it up, put it on a pallet, and ship it to them as freight." And that is what he did. Mark wrapped everything carefully, with boxes, Styrofoam, and shrink wrap, put it all on pallets, and arranged for shipping companies to pick up the two pallets. He kept the stuff in his storeroom until the time when it could be shipped to arrive on specific dates. And he paid the shipping companies up front and billed me for it all afterward!!! All of this excellent service cost about *half* of what the moving companies had quoted me for cross-country moves (if they would even do it), and Mark made it completely painless. Very similar to a FedEx Print Shop if not identical .. However the owner was very friendly and was able to Notarize something for me at 5:30 pm. So it has all the perks of a FedEx print and ship shop with the added perks of notorization and a friendly owner read more
