I am updating my review based on the request aka threats of the owner of this business in suing me for defamation and put a lien on my property if the non-cancellation fee was not paid through collections (which I did pay on 1/1/25). My sincere and honest opinion about this business is the following: I would never do business with them, no matter what. I acknowledge that I did not read the 36 paragraphs of terms and conditions on the form I filled out, therefore, I was very surprised with the outcome. Most of us do not read terms and conditions on things like requesting a sprinkler blowout. Most of us read terms and conditions on items that will financially affect us. I will attempt to summarize their terms and conditions and let you decide for yourself if you want to click that submit button to request services. I do not know about their other services, because the only service I requested was an irrigation blowout. The business does not have time to schedule blowouts during blowout season. Therefore, when you submit a form, you are not requesting an appointment. You are agreeing to receiving the service at any given time and day they choose, and you will be notified the night before by text message or email. It's your responsibility to make sure their message or email do not go to the junk mailbox and you are not informed that services will be rendered at your property. If you need to cancel the service, you need to fill out a form. They will not answer text messages or phone calls. Failure to cancel the service will result in a non-cancellation fee. Apparently, I am not the only person who did not pay attention to the terms and conditions, and I will not be the last. According to the reviews on different online platforms, many people have gone through the same situation I have gone through; rudeness, name calling and threats. Mind you that I did call him names too. Apparently, because I am Latinx, I do not know how to read properly and I should ask someone else to read the terms and conditions for me if I am not capable of understanding (owner's words). The bottom line here is, if you are looking for a business like 99% of the Treasure Valley provide which consists of scheduled appointment, a working phone number for calls or texts, this business cannot provide that for blowouts. I recognize they have provided business for thousands of people in the Valley, and they do receive good reviews as well. However, their business practices do not work for me, a full-time professional worker. I need to know when someone will be at my house so I can work from home. I also did a lot of research regarding this business and noticed that they have had a lot of issues with other customers like weapons pulled at their technicians, police called, trespassing charges threats. I feel really bad for the technicians. I was not threatening or rude to the technician at all. I informed him I was unaware and I had had the service performed two weeks prior. I did reach out to The Attorney General and the BBB as well. We live in a free country. While he can run his business the way he wants, I can also leave reviews and my opinion about how he runs his business as well without the fear of a defamation lawsuit. These platforms exist for a reason. If I was in the same business as him paying people to leave bad reviews, that would be defamation. I am just a professional, a homeowner who just wanted her sprinklers blown out. I never thought I would have so much headache and stress trying to get a basic service done at my house. read more

It was a blessings for me to find Steve and his Son, Jacob on Yelp. I had reinforcement door brackets installed on three doors, a Schlage deadbolt lock and a larger than normal privacy peep hole. Sample is in picture below. Here is the good part of meeting Steve & Jacob, they do much much more than door/camera security; they have lots of other extremely useful talents; a homeowner's one stop shop for nearly everything that needs to be done at home. They are the Real McCoy's who care about quality workmanship in all they do. We needed a back flow test in Boise, found this provider on Google search....HUGE mistake. They did show up and repair and test as expected, but that is where the positive ended. I called the number in their add but received a text response, in order to book an appointment I had to select "accept terms" button. That is their "out". I am actually shocked this entity is still in business. They provided a bid of $171, I verbally accepted with the technician working on our project. 7 days later I received an invoice for $354. When I reached out to find out why it was double the bid, the owner responded "it is an estimate...not a firm price". I asked for a detailed accounting of the project, to which he said the final invoice is your price...I asked numerous times for a phone call with this company, the messages came back and said, we keep all messages by text and email...we don't actually talk to customers. Then I received another invoice with late charged totaling $494 with a threat of being sent to collections the next day. Again, I begged Steve the owner for a simple voice conversation, but he continued to deny my request. He did finally agree to drop the late charge if I paid his inflated $354 invoice. Sadly and regrettably I caved and paid it. I URGE ANYONE READING THIS TO AVOID THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY AND UNPROFESSIONAL ONWER. I PITTY HIS EMPLOYEES AND ANY CONSUMER THAT GETS WRONGLY SUCKED IN TO THEIR "Terms of Agreement" BUTTON. I truly wonder how he sleeps at night. we filled out a form on their website to schedule an appointment. we never heard back from them with a scheduled date and time. Jessie showed up unannounced banging on our door. I told him I was very confused because we were never given a schedule date and time. Jessie was very rude. I also explained to Jessie that bringing his 3 year old on the job was not a liability that we would accept since our house is on a very steep hill with a stone staircase going to the area he would need to work. We are now getting invoices and threats from the owner. According to the owner if you fill out the online form you owe them money even if they don't do the work. I have been using Steve's Maintenance Shop for a year, for blowing out and turning on sprinklers. Recently, I had a rotor sprinkler that I needed to stop (cap) immediately. I tried to do it myself, but I couldn't dig deep enough or didn't know what I was doing. I called 4 sprinkler places (including Steve) and they were all booked out for weeks and said they couldn't help me. But Steve actually came THAT VERY DAY. He was booked too, but because he was going to be in my area, he decided to take care of me on the way and cap that rotor! Thanks to Steve and his crew, our precious water feature is safe from that powerful rotor! Steve is friendly and personable, and his web-based scheduling is very efficient. read more

We had five locks we wanted re-keyed to one key. I called The Maintenance Shop and Steve came out the same afternoon to have a look. Re-keying was not possible and Steve patiently explained why not. Had a bad experience with this place blowing out sprinklers. The bottom line is once you sign up they rely on text messaging to communicate. And when you sign up you don't get a specific time. I don't know where the issue was but I never recieced the text messages so I assumed I wasn't going to get a blowout. My fault for assuming I suppose, cuz they showed up and started the blowout. Problem is, I didn't know it was happening cuz of the lack of communication, so someone else blew them out a week prior. When I told the tech this he said it seemed that way since all the valves were closed. The only reason I knew they were at my house was because my camera alerted and I heard the compressor fire up. They didn't ring my doorbell although the owner (who wasn't there) swears they did. They didn't and he doesn't know. I was actually home. Anyway, despite not completing the blow out, they still charged me full price through a separate Google pay app invoice notification (not a text message), I replied I wasn't paying it, and recieced nothing back from them. Text or otherwise. The only way I found out this was still an issue was two months later they threatened via email to put a lien against my house. Still no texts, although the owner emailed screen shots of them being sent. Well, I didn't get them. Text sent doesn't mean text received. It's enough of a problem that they address not receiving texts in their terms of service as not their problem and they don't follow up via other methods despite emailing me a lien threat. I paid the bill (since their terms put me on the hook) but I recommend someone else for your blowout needs. I'm sure they will respond with some diatribe defending their terms, their reputation, their years in the valley and how I should have thoroughly read the fine print on a sprinkler blowout. Whatever. You may have a different experience, but I had a bad one. I recommend All Patriot Powerwashing, for blowouts. Link below. These low star reviews are gold. If you don't schedule your blow outs early, you will have to wait. It's that simple. So it early, Steve does respond back. He is a texter and directs people to sign up on his site. I can't remember the earliest you can sign up but do it asap since it fills up quick (if it fills up quick there is a reason why, cuz he is in high demand) could his website use some work? Yes. I help build sites and do marketing; I would personally change a lot. At the end of it, his team is great. Steve is a Hard working business owner. These other reviews complain about the delay. So it ended up taking 6 weeks before the blowout occurred. I had already scheduled another service provider but they were obviously booked out further being so deep into the service season. When they contacted me the day before service, I accepted. The response provided by the business owner to my review showcases excuses not ownership of the issues nor a vow to improve the business model and especially the communication that simply didn't occur over the course of 5 and 1/2 weeks. I wish them luck and they will probably do well it sounds like he's telling me it's very lucrative for them. They just will not find my name on their books again. Totally ripped us off with the small print. Don't tell you until a day or 2 before that they're coming. Tech came today while I was at work. Charged my wife $90 for a 6 zone yard because I have 4 additional hose hookups that account for 4 of the zones. These are not hard to access and are easier to blow out than the regular sprinklers! I paid another company $40 last year and I guarantee it took them longer last year than it these guys this year. I even talked to the guy on the phone as he was starting and he thought nothing of mentioning the $60 extra it was going to cost as I was telling him exactly what needed to be done. This is obviously how these guys make any profit in this business. I would have kicked them off the property myself if they had quoted that to me in person. Mailboxes are full when you try to call so you can't talk to anyone. I was able to text them but they are just citing their small print and stating that it's not their issue. Their small print is extremely long, probably because they've added to it year after year when customers complain. If you have anything other than a plain Jane sprinkler system, do not use these rip off artists. And in response to his response...2 of these "extra hookups" we're literally about 10 feet from where his truck was parked. So I don't buy his "back and forth" excuse for the high charges. It should be based on actual work done not just an over arching policy. Yeah, they did things "by their book". I never claimed they didn't. But I did read their terms and obviously didn't realize my connections would be considered extra. I'm sure with much more complicated properties such charges may be worthy. For our property it is a scam for them to make up money that they don't make on the quick $30 jobs. They will always chalk it up to "you agreed to the terms" but that does make it morally or professionally right. read more

However, it's been a hassle to work with owner, you need to read long blogs and text messages everyday wasting time that you don't have and wait all day until they come to avoid charges (additional charges for credit card payment), too many (28) terms and conditions. I have never left a review on a business before but Steve needs a review. I tried contacting this company for a sprinkler blow out. I searched online and found his link to request service. After requesting service I tried calling multiple times to confirm the appointment. After days, emails, and calls (can't leave a message mailbox is full) there was no confirmation appointment. I then hire another company that showed up that day to completed the service. 6 weeks later - I receive an invoice/text from Steve demanding I pay the late fee or he will put a Lien on my property!! Steves response, "you signed the terms of agreement". This company didn't provide their terms of service. They didn't complete any service. There is ZERO communication and the owner will show up in your backyard 6 weeks after initial contact threatening liens on your house. There is no line of communication with Steve. read more

He can be problematic and difficult to get a hold of if it is not a simple pass. Hard to get exact answers about what is and isn't a pass. There were many of us this year that had to deal with the consequences between the city and Steve. I was charged double because this company was doing on the Job training. The tech told me he was training then tried to go back and say that the trainee was kidding. They charged me double for changing out sprinkler heads. The tech argued with me and claimed 'that's just business'. On top of it, the techs were not knowledgably. He couldn't even figure out how to turn on a set of my sprinklers. Shame on the owner for brainwashing these technicians to think that this is how business works. read more

I submitted a request for a sprinkler blowout in the fall - twice online and never got an on screen confirmation nor did i receive a confirmation email. The don't accept phone calls so no way to discuss the issue with anyone. Naturally, I went with someone else who came out within a couple days to perform the blowout. Then, on Nov 22 I see a text from The Maintenance Shop saying they'll be performing my sprinkler blowout the next day - though they never sent a confirmation and I saw nothing online to let me know my request went through. I then get a text showing a picture of my house saying the completed the service and sent me an invoice. They never even confirmed my online request went through - no way was I paying. I got multiple texts and emails after that threatening legal action. I then got a screenshot of a Claim of Lien being placed against me for the amount due x2+. I cannot believe the audacity of this company and Steven Crist to do this after his faulty website never even confirmed my submission or appt. **UPDATE** In response to the business owner's reply, none of this would have happened if their website would have been working properly, a phone number listed and available or an answering service like any professional business. To his point about not responding for two months, that's a blatant lie. I responded to the text he sent to me with a photo of my house the day the work was done (the day after his original text), saying I never received a confirmation from him and had another company do the work since his website never even said my submission was successful nor did I ever receive an email confirmation. Usually when a would be customer let's you know there's a problem with your business website, the business appreciates the heads up and looks into it. Instead he told me I'm ridiculous and it was all my fault. Sadly, I had to pay the $35 for Steven's incompetence. Steven is greedy, dishonest and unprofessional. Horrible business and Steve is truly something else. I had tried multiple ways of contacting this service to turn on my sprinklers (as my lawn was dying) and had no reply whatsoever. Multiple emails, texts, service requests and phone calls were made. I received ZERO communication back or confirmation via email. I ended up having to hire a different business. Then one Saturday afternoon somebody shows up in my driveway and helps them self to the backyard. When I asked them to identify themselves he said he was Steve from the maintenance shop. I explained to him that I had never received communication from him so I hired another service and did not need his services. Additionally when the other service came to turn on my sprinklers a sprinkler head was damaged and they said it was likely due to the blowout that the maintenance shop had done prior to the winter. When I mentioned all of this to Steve he threatened me with a lien on my house and having his attorney contact me. He charged me a service fee for his poor communication. I paid the petty fee to get him off my back but will never do business with place again.... they were unresponsive, rude and almost hostile with threats. Beware. Here is one of the threatening messages I received directly from Steve: "Nothing was damaged when it was blown out. If there had been, you would have said something already, and we've never, ever had damage to a system before. You're welcome to leave a review, but it won't stop an invoice or lean. If you leave a review regarding damage to a sprinkler system because of a blowout, you better be able to prove it. My attorney likes to send demand letters to those who make false accusations. The only bad reviews we ever get are from those who don't want to pay their bills. They are overlooked quite quickly, my people looking for service because of the common denominator. I wasted enough time on this today. I have a lot of work to do. I'm behind because I had to stop at a house that I really didn't need to stop at. Thank you. Have a nice day. I reported my honest customer experience and he refuses to believe or even consider that his system may be flawed. I paid my bill, received no services and was threatened several times by Steve. This review is specific to sprinkler blowout service as only thing I have experience with. They use a ridiculous blog on their website as the only way to get information about when they might be servicing your area. Scheduled service a while ago and have heard nothing. Tried going to the blog where they say you need to look through all prior blog posts to see if they mention your zip code to determine if they are coming out. All I found was them complaining about receiving negative Yelp reviews and anniversaries...Meanwhile temps are in the twenties and I have an above ground back-flow. Called another company who was able to schedule an exact date for service or they might come sooner if time allowed and would call me. Since it's past October they cannot guarantee my system does not have freeze damage. read more
