I LOVE LUX Salon! I moved here just a couple months ago. I have a super short pixie cut that needs…read moreto be kept up every six weeks or so. It is colored blonde (naturally dark brown) so it is important to me to have someone who is very qualified and educated so I don't end up looking like a boy or with hair falling out or a strange color. The first time I went I scheduled with Liz. I just had a feeling about this place before I even went based on the website and waited 3 weeks to get an appointment even though I really really wanted a trim. I held out and didn't change my mind and just go to another place out of desperation. So, I finally went in and was greeted warmly by Donovan at the front desk. He offered me a refreshing glass of water with cucumber and offered to take my jacket and any other belongings and if I needed anything else to be more comfortable. I sat in the chair and Liz, who is super cute with gorgeous hair and really fun to talk to, played with my hair and asked what we wanted to do. I told her that I am flexible, love my short hair, but am open to whatever she wanted to do with me. She's the pro. She cut it shorter than usual and I loved it. She styled it just right so that it was short but still feminine. We scheduled an appointment at that time for a trim and color in a few weeks. Over the few weeks I was stopped all over the place with compliments on my hair. women at church would stop me, on the street, in the store, at my kids' schools... I was glad to not be the only one who loved the cut! So I went back for my trim and color with Liz. I was there for a little over 3 hours. She took her time to make sure it was just the right color, do something fun, cut my hair, and even gave me a hand massage and paraben treatment while I was under the heater. It was awesome! I love going there and can't wait for my next appointment.

I've been three times and it was always a great experience. Talented people who do their best.read more

I checked in online and arrive at 5:50pm. Upon arrival I was not greeted and both of the ladies cutting hair looked haggard and exasperated that another customer had walked in. I waited until the stylist told me it was my turn. She asked what I was having done and I told her I would like a shampoo and a hair cut. Her response was "I can't do a shampoo, my back hurts". I told her okay as I was now too uncomfortable to explain I had been looking forward to this all day. Not a word was exchanged during the haircut. I paid, tipped $5 and left. I told my boyfriend of the experience and he told me I should write a review, I told him I had already left and did not catch the stylists name. My boyfriend then called the store and said, "my girlfriend was just in there for a haircut, can I have the stylists name as she did a good job and I'd like to book a service with her". The lady who answered the phone asked as condescending and told him in clipped words that "there are only two people working at this store, we don't remember whose hair we cut", when pressed by my boyfriend she finally asked what my name was and eventually told him she had been the one to cut my hair. The stylists name was Fran. My boyfriend then told her we would be writing a review about her demeanor and lack of service. At that she became much nicer and proceeded to utter multiple excuses. Part of me feels bad for even writing this review as I empathize with her back hurting but part of me thinks to refuse a service offered by your employer is not appropriate. This experience was disappointing and I will not be coming back to this great clips.

I am of an age group where I am at higher risk for Covid related illness and additionally I am immune compromised. I have wanted appointments where I could wear a mask during my services but this request was treated in an aggressively unpleasant way by the salon owner's own daughter. This individual has given the impression she is against vaccination as well as allowing others the choice to mask for their own safety. Her attitude made my appointment very uncomfortable. There are zero Covid safety protocols in place in this salon and almost no one masks even during the recent outbreaks. This may not impact other folks in the slightest but if you are immune compromised and trying to find a salon that acknowledges/accommodates and takes Covid precautions- avoid, avoid, avoid. I don't mind what people's personal beliefs are but when they influence my experience at a business and potentially impact my health? The risk -in my opinion- isn't worth it. I'd rather give my money to people who are at least open to the idea of allowing people to take precautions against infectious disease if the CDC advises their risk group to do so. Two stars because I really loved and appreciated the times I had my hair done at this salon before Covid- before things got so crazy and, at this establishment, just downright angry.
