I've been to the Mane Studio twice now and I love it! I went to Candace originally for highlights which were so vibrant and beautiful. She evened out my hair after a previous salon had botched a trim. She also gave me some great advice on products I should be using in my hair which has made my hair less frizzy and more smooth and shiny. The second time I went to Samantha for a full color, and it was BEAUTIFUL. She really took the time and care to make sure every piece was saturated and she was just as excited as I was to see the results. She was meticulous and you can tell she is passionate about the creativity that comes with her job, as well as customer service. Once we met and discussed my options I had full confidence in her abilities so I decided to proceed with the new extensions. I'm very happy with the results! She has subsequently also highlighted my hair and did a fantastic and subtle job without damaging my hair which is pretty tough because I have very fine hair that needs very special care to lighten without causing undue breakage. Unfortunately I did not have the best experience. During the process of getting extension I had a great time. The owner Candace is wonderful and kind. However the extensions I got did not last more than a couple weeks as all the hair started separating from the glue. Meaning; the actual hair extensions were breaking apart. Then I would brush my hair with the brush provided and all these piece would just pull right out of my hair. When I mentioned this to her about a month after, nothing was done about it. I was pretty disappointed. :( last time I got ny hair done in Calabasas, my extensions lasted three years... yea they were nappy but at least they stayed in for all that time and didn't shred like the ones she used did. It was almost like the hair was pretty-used.... Anyway. Lesson learned. I wish you all the best. read more

I've been a long time client of Candice's for many years. I liked Candice from the start. She was kind and did my hair somewhat like the pictures I've showed her. It was never the exact same thing that I would ask for ( I know colors and styles look different on different hair types and people ) which is fine. But it was never even close. However, I would still come to Candice even after she burned the side of my face with her chemicals a few years ago. Mind you, she wasn't even surprised when it happened. She wasn't shocked or concerned that she had just burned my face. It was a very odd reaction from someone who could've permanently damaged someone's skin. ( scarring ) anyways, I continued to support Candice and her business and made her my primary hairstylist. She even offered to work during COVID. She offered to come to my house to do my hair. ( during COVID ) so a few months ago, I had an appointment with Candice. I did mention to her that I was going to wear a mask because my kiddos at home had a cold, I didn't have a cold but I wanted to take that extra step in making sure I don't get anyone else sick because I am an honest person. Candice's reaction was so weird to me. It was unpleasant and unprofessional and she even asked me to " double mask it." And that there are other people in her salon. Mind you, I wasn't sick. It was such an unprofessional reaction of her. As a hairstylist I would assume you would want your clients to feel as comfortable as possible in your chair. I felt like a germ, the way she treated me over the situation ruined my day because I had decided to cancel my appointment because I did not want to feel uncomfortable. It was surprising to me that someone who wanted to work during COVID and was offering to go over clients houses, would treat this situation the way she did. Candice was a good hair stylist to me, although my hair never turned out the way I wanted, but I've decided to find someone new. I hope she doesn't make anyone else feel as uncomfortable as I did. And remember, if you're sick or being an honest person and say people at your home have a little cold and you're going to wear a mask to your appointment, don't even bother. She would make you feel like a germ! It was an okay experience having you as a hairstylist and I mean well in this review. I found Candice on Yelp and decided to get extensions with her because she had such good reviews. However, my experience was pretty bad. She quoted me $1400 for the extensions, and when she finished she charged me $1600. A week later I had to go back because 8 extensions had fallen off. Two and a half weeks later 30 more extensions had fallen off !!!!!. I asked her to fix them, she replaced all the clips and then SHE CHARGED ME $250 FOR IT. I told her that the right thing to do was to at a minimum split the $250, since the extensions were clearly not put on correctly, then SHE ACCUSED ME OF PULLING THEM OFF and she said no. The back of my head ended up looking like a broom (see photo ) Bottom line, I ended up going to J Russell hair salon to get this mess fixed. It is fair to say that no extensions have fallen off since she fixed them, further proof that they were done wrong the first time. read more
