There were so many thoughtful touches, like handcut flowers in a vase, a personalized note from the owner greeting us with our keys, corkscrew, ice bucket, and wine glasses. The beds are comfortable (if a bit high for this 5'3" short-legged lady) and the homemade quiche for breakfast was super creamy, with some berries for extra fiber. The owners served breakfast and though did *NOT* REQUIRE masks for Covid protection, they did wear masks and also showed off their extra-disinfectant machine and other anti-Covid preparations that they were taking. VERY affordable for us ~ $130+taxes and fees for 1 Friday night during Covid, I'm not sure if that was a lower price due to quarantine but it was a definite value from our perspective. When we arrived, Scott greeted us and immediately gave us a tour and told us about the history of their amazing 3 story 1889 Victorian home. Their Bed & Breakfast is such a beautiful house with so much character. I just love all the original wood work throughout the house and the original stained glass window that overlooks the gorgeous wooden stair case. They offer 4 rooms to stay in. Each room has a fireplace and 3 rooms have a private bathroom. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The first night a fell asleep with the aroma of a crumb cake that Megan was baking for the next morning. Scott and Megan are very friendly and are great hosts, along with their adorable children. The next time I travel near Anniston, Alabama I will definitely stay here again!

Our son slept in the bed with us (king size) and we had some of the best sleep-honestly, we didn't know how our son would do as we don't tend to travel much but I was able to rock him in the rocking chair outside our room and he slept all night long! We went downstairs for breakfast and Scott's oldest daughter had gotten some toys out for our son-they had a great time playing together. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice to be able to sit down with the Brightwell family. Scott and Megan were wonderful hosts and their children are kind, sweet and very bright. If you have children and are worried about traveling with them, don't be! We never felt like our child didn't have space to run around or that he had to be quite the whole time. We stayed in The Suite, and I cannot address the other rooms. The house was quiet at night. The bed was comfortable. Our hostess made sure that the air condition was set at a comfortable temperature, and she graciously provided us with her own fan. Although breakfast was not prepared for us, we did have total access to the kitchen, including a stocked pantry, stocked refrigerator, stove and oven. We chose to eat breakfast at a nearby fast food establishment both mornings. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, soap, and body lotion. A built-in hair dryer was provided. Our suite was provided with a sitting room, where I set up shop to work on my computer. WiFi signal was strong, and internet speed was good. The inn is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Dallas. The technical college is about a five-minute drive from the inn. Perhaps the inn's greatest asset is its hostess. She was very accommodating, and she did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable. The bathroom was equipped with a clawfoot tub / shower. The edge of the tub is high, which could make it difficult for for frail people to enter and exit. There is a grab bar for the toilet. There is no grab bar for the bath tub. The literature for the inn clearly says that pets are not allowed, but be aware that our hostess had an old large arthritic dog who resides at the inn and may bark quite loudly when he first greets you. He is a kind old soul, and I enjoyed his company. But if you you have a thing about dogs, this could be an issue.

We found this B&B nearby and thought it would be cool to stay here for a night. It is very near the border with Georgia and Tennesse so it's close to the Chattanooga area as well. The house itself is located in Valley Head.The house was easy to spot from a distance as it really stands out in this area. Next to the railroad tracks, the property is beautiful with gorgeous old trees surrounding it.There actually used to be a council tree on this property that the Indians used for ceremonies, e.t.c. before they were forced out on the Trail of Tears. There's a lot of history in this place. We were met by Jim Bunch, one of the owners, who gave us a tour and told us the history of the place before showing us our room. The original owner was related to Winston Churchill and Dolly Madison. I won't tell you all the history so if you want to know more, you'll have to visit it yourself! I appreciated that there was a folder in our room that contained reading materials about the house and the area so I could read more about it! Our room was lovely and the bed was really comfy. There was a tv in our room as well. We had rented the Patrick Henry Suite so we actually had another room next door that had an old fashioned bed with curtains all around it. Each rental has its own full bathroom so no worry about sharing. The house actually has a game room with a piano, pool table, and ping pong table. We didn't use it on this visit but would be fun if you have kids. You can actually rent the whole house if you wish for family events etc. People can get married here as well. There are some beautiful pictures from weddings on the property. Our stay included breakfast in the morning. Jim made us a wonderful breakfast that included French toast, eggs, breakfast potatoes, grits, bacon, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee and tea. I was stuffed. Everything was delicious. It was hard to leave this wonderful old house. I would definitely stay here again.

It was Mrs. Fays breakfast the next morning that knocked out socks off!! As we gathered in the beautifully appointed dining room; we were served coffee and juice. Out came the fruit cup with watermelon (in season and sweet) then the gravy with homemade from Scratch biscuits; scrambled fluffy eggs, bacon, sausage patties, and then this amazing cheesy hash brown casserole that I will be craving the rest of my life!!! The homegrown, sliced garden tomatoes. Wow!!! This was by far the best breakfast on our entire trip! Then to top it off; I forgot my iPad and we called after being an hour away and Leslie ( our host) said it's going in fedex and we should have it when we arrive home Monday. Just a wonderful overall experience here and Winston place. You come in as a guest and leave friends :)
