I helped a psychotherapy client of mine move from another place in Hollywood where he was doing terribly. Within a few weeks of living at the Plaza, he came to life, making friends, looking much healthier, taking care of personal hygiene, all of which hadn't been happening for at least a year in the other place. I highly recommend The Plaza for all these reasons and most importantly the staff, especially Luz and Theresa, really care about the residents and go out of their way to make sure they are taken care of.

I did not see any parking but I found a street parking spot. Worst case, park at VONS and cross the street. The residents were fun, chatty, grateful, and happy which speaks well to the place. What was once presented as a safe place for elderly residents has turned into an environment that no human being should have to live in, especially vulnerable seniors who depend on others for care and dignity. From the moment you walk into the building, there is a strong and overwhelming smell of urine throughout the halls and common areas. The facility appears poorly maintained, dirty, and neglected. The conditions are unacceptable for any care facility that is responsible for the health and well being of elderly residents. On the final day we came to remove our family member from the facility, we witnessed feces on the floors and even smeared on walls. It was absolutely horrifying and something I will never forget. Our family member's room looked like it had not been properly cleaned or cared for in a very long time. It was obvious basic sanitation and upkeep were not being handled consistently. No family should have to worry whether their loved one is being kept in a clean and safe environment, yet that became a constant concern for us. What was even more alarming was the lack of professionalism and proper care from the staff. Many employees appeared extremely young, inexperienced, and completely untrained. It genuinely felt like people were simply handed a pair of scrubs and placed in charge of elderly residents without the knowledge, guidance, compassion, or qualifications necessary to care for human lives. The lack of urgency, attentiveness, and accountability was shocking. Instead of empathy and professionalism, our family was often met with rude attitudes and dismissive behavior. We spent years hoping conditions would improve, giving chance after chance because moving an elderly loved one is not an easy decision emotionally or physically. Unfortunately, things only became worse. Eventually we reached a point where we no longer felt our family member was safe there. If you value the quality of life, dignity, health, and safety of your elderly family member, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. No one deserves to spend their final years in conditions like this. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, and honestly I would not place my worst enemy there. The conditions and level of care we witnessed were beyond unacceptable and in my opinion this facility should be thoroughly investigated immediately

Some "intitled clients" Many hard-working people are engaged here to look out for all us clients. THE BAD Lighting in the dining room is just way too bright. It is to the point that I have a difficult time eating meals in the dining room as I am light sensitive after eye surgery. Management do not care to do anything about it. I am a creature of habit and try and make it simple by ordering the same thing in the dining room every day for consistency. Some things like potato's being cooked the way that I like them with bell peppers, onions, and garlic are wonderful. Other items like chicken and fish mostly are overcooked and hard as a rock even though multiple times it has been discussed with no luck. Sometimes just the basic food is better than adding all sorts of sauces or international flair of calling items what they are trying to make them sound sophisticated. Sometimes the simplest things are not available that you would consider a normal kitchen to have a stock pile of, like hollandaise sauce or eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak, Chunky salsa or tomatoes and onions for vegetable omelette, steak and eggs for breakfast with gravy, did I mention biscuits and gravy would be nice once in a while sausage gravy/coffee gravy/anything with gravy. This is a company with their home office in Texas, other locations offered steak and eggs where this location does not. When they run out of items they did not substitute or contact you to recommend something. They just go without so what I've had to do is order additional food in anticipation of some items not making it. Most of my items come to my room for me to eat where I have somebody go down and pick it up at the kitchen. Food temperature has also been a problem. Some items that are hot come out cold some items that are cold come out hot. There is no rhyme or reason or stop gap to make sure these items go out the temperature they're supposed to. This is a major concern to make sure people don't get sick off of the food that is being served here. All right, I have come up with this to hopefully express the challenges that I have trying to have Belmont Village Westwood be the highest rated facility around. I know some people might not like what I have posted. This is for criticism to see if management can step up to the plate. and make Belmont Village Westwood the best facility around. I do know Rome was not built in one day. Let's see on 4 July if they could take the challenge. Going on three years of living here some things have changed. They have scaled back the different types of items in the kitchen. What used to be different pastries and items now are limited with in House cakes and pastries that are just not up to perfect standards. They have limited the fruits and vegetables claiming they had too much waste and availability. Multiple times I have had fresh fruit that has not been washed or have been mushy and Old. It is hard to keep track of everything like that. I do agree. It is not good though to send stuff out of the kitchen. That staff would not eat themselves. That brings up another item multiple times. I have asked staff to taste what they had served me which they would not do. They should not put anything on the table that they would not eat themselves. Consistency is very important, when management leaves the kitchen area all hell breaks loose and things go to pot. My recommendation would be keep management in the kitchen and dining room at all times or have one person who has. The authority to make executive decisions. If items run out, you should be able to substitute for something else of greater value. For instance you run out of chicken of the day, break out the salmon or the steaks. They use the saying " subject to change" well it seems like the kitchen does whatever the hell they want an items that you are expecting to be on the menu like rice pilof, Chinese peas, or potatoe wedges end up being something completely different. What is the use of having a menu if you're not going to stick to it. Why not just state " food Dejour" or chef surprise. Please stop burning and over cooking the mahi-mahi and salmon. A beautiful animal gave its life to be on a plate.!!! THE UGLY Answering the phone in the middle of the night to take care of anybody's emergencies is very important and does not get accomplished here. When you have your own private companions, the staff here at Belmont are two lax. They won't even empty the trash. Even being an ass multiple times to management staff do not pick up your trash multiple. Times a day. The cleaning staff do a wonderful job. Keep it up folks thank you. Pictures and decorations are modern, interesting and creative. There is a patio in the center of the complex to allow residents to get some sunlight without being near traffic. The carpeting is clean and rugs are safe for residents and guests. I dislike walking into a facility and see rugs with the ends curled ready to have elderly trip and fall. There is a library room, game room, sitting and dining rooms. Very nice layout for residents.

Our parent was bullied by another resident, and the management did not inform us and would not have, luckily we were told by other residents. The management dragged their feet and did very little to remedy the situation. Of course they did not want to ask the bullier to leave and lose that income. Very little attention paid to residents, very little response to family inquiries/complaints. The residence is badly in need of an overhaul. I hate to think what would happen in case of a fire or other emergency in case of evacuation. The so-called "afternoon tea" is leftover cake from the night before. In all the time my parent was there I met and talked to many residents and their families and no one said anything complimentary which makes me think the good reviews posted here are not genuine.

The facility is lovely, the residence were interacting with each other and enjoying various activities. My uncle's room is exactly as I hoped - a real bedroom & bathroom with a lil kitchenette. (Not hospital or rehab generic) While all I've mentioned above is important - the real reason we selected GOP, TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK! The administrators, health, care and support staff are truly impressive. The director, Judah is fantastic. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate and KNOWS every resident. He has assembled a professional and personable team to run this facility like a clock! This team has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help with get my uncle settled in and provided updates to put my mind at ease. My close friend's 91 year old nana fell and had to have hip surgery…read more I've come to visit her several times and she loves the care she's been getting here. She loves her nurse, the food and she's very happy. When she did research on recovery places this one came the highest rated for her insurance. Nana keeps saying she's surprised at how quiet it is here. We are very happy with the people here and the care she's getting. They all deserve recognition. Thanks for taking care of Nana and yes the office experience is excellent.
