This particular Nando's is fairly small, considering it is the only branch within the town, but there is still a good amount of seating, including booths and outdoor seating, and it didn't seem too busy when I visited. PRO TIP: The signal inside here is pretty poor, so you may want to connect to their free WiFi in order to stay connected to the outside world while dining in. I ordered my usual Nando's order, a medium spiced Chicken Butterfly with peri chips and spicy rice, the food arrived in decent time despite a pre-warning that everything could take longer due to them being short-staffed. The chicken was nice, but it was slightly overcooked. The rice was piping hot, but I did have to mix it up as it was stuck together in parts, and the chips were fine compared to the usual Nando's standards, all in all, A-OK, certainly not the best but could have been a lot worse. Not offering plain mayonnaise is a huge bummer for me, instead, you're forced to choose between a vegan alternative OR their Perinaise which is a mix of Mayonnaise and peri-peri sauce, the latter carries a £1 surcharge. (and they ended up forgetting, and I had to ask them for it) I do find the food a little expensive for what it is, and to add salt to one's wound, the price seems to go up and up each time I visit a Nando's location, my meal came to £14.45 today, which would have been £14.20 a couple of weeks ago, going back to below £12 per head before the pandemic. 3* - Many good things to write home about including the friendly staff, but also some improvements such as overall food standards and pricing.

I ordered a club sandwich (be aware, Americans, the bacon here is "back bacon" that more closely resemble ham/canadian bacon than our typical US-bacon...not that it's a bad thing, just something to note). The sandwich was very good. We also got a goat cheese tart salad, and the tarts were delicious. The third entree was a burger, which while good, was a very unique tasting burger. I think it was due to the intense tomato/ketchup flavor. So all-in-all, come here for the nice outdoor view and some fresh, tasty food, but don't come here to save money.

I chose a salad and gnocchi which were both excellent. Two-course lunch on the set menu with a nice bottle of wine - which I didn't try because I was the designated pilot for the return journey - plus coffees and a tip came to £140, I think. Which is pretty good for this level of culinary loveliness. I have been to two- and three-star restaurants and had worse food. (Parkheuvel in Rotterdam had three stars when I went there and it was *much* worse, for example.) 5 North Street has a richly deserved star. Only the Michelin's obsession with rococo details like location, fancy formal service, tasting menus, artwork and so on plus, I think, a feeling that restaurants can't be good if they're small stop this place getting more stars. It actually spans two adjacent buildings so the full bar in the right hand side (joined in the middle by a knock through) shouldn't impact too much on a nice meal, the bar actually looks like it would be a really nice place to go and have some cocktails in the evening as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming, they have a nice relaxed lunch service there even though there were plenty of covers. Prices vary quite a lot, it appears that they are pricing to cost so a nice salad or chicken thighs comes in at around £4.50 where prawns were more like £8, you could definitely get yourself a good cheap meal here if you are on a budget. When I asked what they had beer wise that was around Guiness strength, the answer was "Coffee". Then it too awhile to get her attention again. Maybe I missed the joke. Patio (4 Stars) - This was a nice outdoor spot to comfortably hang out, especially since the weather was relatively warm and it wasn't raining. Dinner (4 Stars) - We dined "early" as they were wrapping up the dining room hours because of the bank holiday.
