Gem of a store and I'm shocked at the variety of convenience and speciality items! La Colombe coffee in cans (cold), Diet Dr. Brown's cream soda, flavored VA peanuts, ice creams, hot sauces, beer, wine, all the essentials! I came in for a tooth brush and left with Cherry Coke Zero, hot cocoa, Elf Goldfish and coffee creamer. They play loud, fun music and helped me out in a pinch! read more

We are back! For this long weekend at Wintergreen, we came to the Market to look for a birthday cake for a friend. No cake, but they do have various interesting cakes by the slice in the pastry department. Ask for pastry rather than cake. We got almond rainbow cake (delicious), key lime pie (just the right tanginess), and apple crumbles. All good! It seems they offer hot pizzas, simple grocery, but no hot burgers or hot sandwiches. Only deli sandwich. Still alright, since this is the only place on the mountain you can find any kind of grocery if you forgot something. read more

The market will quickly become your go to place when you're at wintergreen. The market is located on the wintergreen property just down the hill from the mountain inn where you check in. It serves the resort community and local residents. You don't need any proof of staying at the resort to shop there. The market has a variety of things. Firstly, it has gas and not at an exorbitant price either. The price of gas matched what was at the bottom of the mountain. The market has the toiletries, home products, food and drink - all that you could need. It is a micro grocery store. I was able to find what I needed there. The food was actually really good, so good that I bought lunch and dinner there one day. I highly recommend the the three ridges sandwich if you like Italian sandwiches. The pizza was also really delicious. I ordered pizzas for dinner when I stopped in to get lunch. You're able to time request your order and pick up times. They only have one size of pizza, 16". Two pizzas were PLENTY to feed four people. The only drawback to me are the hours. When you're out doing activities, rushing to be back to visit the store at a certain time is tough. All the other food places at the resort were sit down and if you just wanted a grab and go place for food, the market is really your only option. If the hours for the store and the food counter could extend, I think that would suit the needs of the visitors better. Overall, great place! read more

This is a great market for staples when visiting Wintergreen. We were visiting friends for the weekend and had planned to go down the mountain for dinner, but it snowed! We were so happy to see it! When there was a break in the weather, we walked up to The Market to pick up items to throw together a dinner. We found everything we needed and more. The place was rocking! Lots of people were buying items from the deli and pizza counter, and I have to admit, it all looked so good. For us, some items to make a hearty pasta, snacks, beer, wine, bread and cold cuts. Everything was reasonably priced. We even bought stuff to make cookies! So glad this Market is available. Next time we will get pizza and sandwiches. read more

Great sandwich stop. Stopped here during a road trip. Good decision. My husband ordered a Belmont (toasted) and I ordered an Earlyville (toasted) and then switched halves. Both sandwiches were great! HOWEVER... the sourdough on the Earlyville is more like regular white bread. Maybe because I'm from San Fran I'm biased and picky about sourdough... but the sandwich was still great... good spot. I've been coming to Wintergreen for almost 20 years, including stops by The Market for gas or groceries. But only a few weeks back did I get a sandwich there. Man have I been missing out. Had the turkey Ruben Saturday, the Eagle Swoop (roast chicken breast, smoked Gouda, pepper dressing in ciabatta) Sunday, and the Rodeo Ruben today. Freshly made, generously proportioned, and delicious. The pizza is made before your eyes, is slightly buttery, no sugar in the sauce, and tasty as can be. This place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend! We really enjoyed both the pizza and Reuben sandwich!! My son is particular about his pizza and he gave it high marks! The delivery service was fast -- even on Super Bowl Sunday. Not to mention, our dinner was hand delivered by the owner. Great food and great service! read more

So- they can't achieve 5 star status because of the stock in the store. That's not their fault, prob hit them before delivery day. They offer beer, wine, seltzer's, amazing sandwiches and will accommodate with the no bun no carb phase I'm in. I will say the employees are FIVE STAR- and I don't say that lightly- it's serious business with me if I give you a 5! As I do 5 stars to no stars nothing in the 2-3 I cant function! Convenient and great staff. Easy to get essentials and get in and out quickly. Went around 4:00pm well after the lunch hour and before dinner. The pizza in the case looked disgusting like it should it should have been tossed hours ago. Luckily there are plenty of made to order sandwich options. Make sure you check out the selection of Nigthingale ice cream sandwiches from Richmond VA. They were $5.29 each but worth it. Had the fat banana (peanut butter cookie with fresh homemade banana ice cream half dipped in chocolate. They are located in the freezer close to the register. read more

Great convenience store/market/gas station and deli at Wintergreen resort. The sandwiches are quite good, as they use all Boars Head products. Local bread is often there, in addition to good local coffee. Other than that, everything you need for vacation, I.e., beer and wine, groceries, snacks , fire logs, etc. They have a nice beer and wine selection, although none of the beer had prices on a recent visit. Actually, most things are not priced so be sure and ask- we got a container of salmon spread and it turned out to be $16! (We were starving after a long drive so took it anyway )Prices are somewhat reasonable considering its on the top of a mountain. Prices are good on the deli lunch meats. Great place to walk down to in the morning for a breakfast biscuit and Trager Brothers coffee! read more

First, hats off to the two young men working there! There were friendly, very informative and a lot of fun to talk to. Great little gem at the resort ready to provide whatever you may have forgotten. After reading the Yelp reviews for the Copper Mine and The Edge, we did not want to spend a lot of money on bad service and food. So we went to the deli at the Market and got two awesome Reubens. The bread was fresh, sauerkraut was crisp and the cornbeef was plentiful. Thanks for a good dinner. read more

I think the deli worker had a crush on me or something because she called my name twice when my sandwich was ready. She only called my friends names once each. Also, my Reuben was made with love- one of the best I've had. This convenience store was truly our saving grace. Great sandwiches and great selection of alcohol. Very limited options right now July 11, 2020. Plenty of people in town, and they have no brewed tea, no espresso drinks and their brewed coffee was less than good. People are here and need a place to get food and drinks. Bring your own if you're coming to Wintergreen now. read more

Had a sandwich with Boars Head Black Forest ham which was surprisingly, nicely done (with a toasted bread and honey mustard) for a tiny market located next to a gas station. Coffee was decent and the staff was extremely nice, especially the cashier. read more
