I wish I could give this place infinite stars. Hands down the best dining experience I have had in ages. From the moment I was seated the waitstaff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. My partner and I shared an arugula salad. The kitchen was thoughtful enough to send the dish out on two plates without taking away from the presentation of the salad (which was killer). Our bottle of Sauvignon blanc came on ice and the waitress ensured that our glasses were never empty without the awkward interruption of a conversation. Stuffed olives are available as martini garnishes with blue cheese or kimchi. I make my own kimchi at home and had to try a side of these little jewels. I was so impressed I ordered an additional side of kimchi to go with my entree- giant tiger prawn in thai butter with jasmine rice and baby bok choy. Again, presentation was phenomenal. I have personally emailed the restaurant and thanked them for this wonderful experience. Tanya and the rest of the crew were amazing. Excellent place to stay! It was convenient to everything. Daily fresh water, tea, coffee and towels. CJ checked us in and was most helpful. The Blonde lady who checked us put could learn from the younger man. She was nice but to direct. It would not keep me from coming back because it was awesome! Huge fan. Everything was perfect and very casual. The staff was great, and the location was exceptional; we never used our car.

Staff, service very good. Decor pleasant and classy. Filet Mignon was very good (hard to screw up) but surrounded by mediocre and lukewarm accompaniments, mashed potatoes cool, carrots hard. The place was packed and loud, the acoustics are deafening. The seating is to "intimate" for our taste. We could not even have a conversation because of the loudmouth clown next to us. That's not the restaurants fault totally, but with a few less seats and sound deadening could help. read more

Charming French bistro atmosphere, delicious food and the price to match. I had the duck breast with a sauce on the side that was lick the plate delicious with crisp green beans. The menu noted wild rice as well, but the rice and quinoa mixture I received had no wild rice in it at all. I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could. I went there four nights in a row during my week-long stay in early January. The first night we did a full, four-course dinner with wine, cocktails, etc. The service was amazing, and the food was very good . . . with a few things being so excellent that we came back the second night to sit at the bar and just have them. The mushroom and duck confit pasta purses is one of the most memorable dishes I've had anywhere in the world. Perfection (and I had them four nights in a row). This dish is also big enough to have as a small entree. Also, the margaritas are notable. They were especially good the first night. We kept coming back hoping to have the same bartender again, but they were never quite the same - though still good. This is the primary reason I wouldn't give the place 5 stars - a little bit of inconsistency, especially at the bar. But overall, this place changed my entire impression of Key West. read more

Loved everything about this place. Food was outstanding. So good that I told our server to please tell the chef "The food was f..... good!" She came back and said that the chefs liked it so much she had to say it three times! The only negative was the loudness of the establishment. High ceilings reminds me of NY style places. People love this place, but I'm not sure why. The food is so HEAVY and unbalanced. We started with the duck slider, which honestly was very good and so it seemed like our meal was off to a great start. Although heavy, the slider with foie gras pate was very tasty. My husband and I shared the one slider, which was plenty. Our meal, however, was just plain bad. I ordered the scallops, which were masked by too much butter and truffle oil making it extremely rich for my stomach. For such a rich main course, it needed something light to balance. I thought for sure the swiss chard would help with that, but it was drenched in butter and much too salty making it inedible. The risotto was also terrible mixed with too much saffron. I have a problem with restaurants trying too hard in using so many different flavors when sometimes the best meals are the ones that are simple in ingredients, but cooked to perfection. I took maybe 3 bites of my dinner and couldn't eat anymore. My husband ordered the filet, asked for it to be cooked medium and was given something that was too well done. Sad to pay so much to be so greatly disappointed. We ended up ordering a dessert anyway since it was my birthday and decided on the sherbet, which was nice and light...something we needed. read more

Cafe Marquesa is a great find In Key West, definitely go and experience if you have the chance, you won't be disappointed

This is a charming hotel that has developed two issues over the years: 1) a slow decline in maintenance of little things that takes the shine off of an otherwise first class hotel; and, 2) the prices keep inching up into the stratosphere. Pool chairs missing leg pads that cause a chair to wobble. Doors that stick. Air conditioning that wakes you up from the fan noise. A day rate of $450.+ for a regular single pool side room. At $300./day I could start to overlook some of these smaller things. At $450./day, no excuse. Too pricey anyway. $2500. could buy you a week at a VRBO with a private pool. read more

Great hotel! Our room was across the street from the main hotel. We had a lot of privacy on our deck. The location was perfect for us. Quiet at night and walking distance to everything we needed and wanted. Staff was very friendly. Will be staying again on next trip. read more

My wife and I stayed there during the Harley-Davidson Poker Run and we were very satisified in all areas. Although we have been to KW numerous times, first time we stayed at a non-traditonal hotel and it won't be the last. Marquesa is a 1st Class operation all the way and the location is perfect. The staff treated us like VIP's and best of all they don't allow children in the pool areas, 14 and over I think it was. First time I can remember enjoying a pool without kids yelling and playing while their parents ignore them. It truly is an oasis and the best of the best as others have commented. read more

My partner and I went for his birthday. They had cute decorations on the table when we arrived. They have a Great drink menu. Wonderful homemade hummus served with a variety of breads and flatbread. My husband and I ate here last week while in Key West for a wedding. I will have to say this is most likely the best meal I have ever eaten! We started with Blue Cheese Martini's, then the Duck Slider for an appetizer. For entrees I had the lamb(their signature entree) and the mahi. AMAZING food and service. I arrived late at night, after 12 hours of flying, after 5 hours of driving. It was too-long of a day. When I got here, I felt like I walked into a spa. I was greeted by Joe; it's my first time in the Keys and I can't imagine a better and more hospitable welcoming than his -- he is the epitome of hospitality and a total gem; fun & good natured but no less the professional. The place felt like the perfect oasis. The sound of the water on the pool, the tropical landscaping, the lights in the trees, the convenient & easy walkable proximity to Duval and the water, but with just the right amount of separation to keep it quiet. My only negative is that the AC-vent is a little noisy, although some will appreciate it as white-noise. I will be absolutely be coming back and I demand on getting to see Joe again when I do. read more

Understatedly elegant, great inviting decor, wonderful and attentive service, and two extraordinary swimming pools. Marquesa is a comfortable and quiet oasis just one block off of Duval Street. For whatever reason we were upgraded from a poolside room to a junior suite. Live in Key West and consider myself a foodie. First time at Cafe Marquesa, our server Amy, was perfect. She knows the food and is very friendly. The tastes were very interesting. Potato, leek, bacon soup was spicy and unusual. Chicken spring roll, very nice with several accompaniments. Our dinners: Shrimp and bok-choy, and house specialty, rack of lamb. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, my wife isn't a tomato fan. The menu didn't state that the dish was a tomato base. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly, med-rare, but the goat cheese on the lamb overpowered the dish. That's my opinion, but after all that's why we write these reviews. Leave the goat cheese off, and it was perfect. We had two martini's with outstanding blue-cheese stuffed olives, and a bottle of wine. Molten chocolate cake for desert and a coffee drink. $180 The place had a quiet elegance about it. Parties of two get those tables that are next to each other, one chair and one long wall bench like Vegas. It maximizes the room in the restaurant, but I don't like that kind of seating. The ingredients seem to be high quality but the preparations were so jumbled and pretentious that the quality was masked............steak tartare with a quail egg (in shell) and a slab of brie was, at best, silly.........duck breast with a chicken sausage made no sense at all.........the waiter was delightful and helpful.....the maitre d just serves as a doorman........he doesn't work the room or engage any of the clientele ......overall, it's disappointing at their prices read more
