One thing I've realized about London is that businesses located above street-level businesses often tend to be nicer than those on street-level or worse, below street-level. As is the case with the Massage Centre. Booking was easy. I popped in one day and was able to get an appointment soon - the next day if I wanted. The space is clean and relaxing unlike other spas in the area (South Beach, Luminis (fka Dove Spa)) where the spa is loud and hectic and, god for bid, the therapy rooms are located below street-level and the constant creaking of floor boards completely ruins any therapy you are paying your hard earned cash for. My therapist was knowledgeable, used appropriate pressure, and provided me with stretching techniques to help reduce the stiffness and tension in my upper back. So, all of this was great. The other great thing about my therapist was that she did not pressure me to book massages every two weeks or even every month. She had a brain on her shoulders and understands how expensive a two-week massage regimen wold be. I mean, wouldn't we all get massages every two weeks if we could afford it? I bet Kim Kardashian gets a massage daily but you know what? I'm not Kim Kardashian. I'm just a normal person with bad posture from banging away on the computer writing Yelp reviews all damn day. Nothing ruins a relaxing experience more than being made to feel bad about not treating your body awesomely by getting massages every two weeks. And I'm happy to report that no one at TMC made me feel bad about not getting a massage every two weeks. So, thanks, TMC! read more

I threw my back out while visiting from Los Angeles. Peter made me feel at least 50% better which is a huge deal if you have a back that's gone out. He first checked to make sure that I hadn't thrown anything major and then proceeded to undo all the tension in my lower back, allowing me to be able to stand like a man not a penguin. Great staff and I felt very well cared for while in a very vulnerable position. read more

I've been using the massages from Agata at TMC to keep me mobile. I sit in a chair 10 hours a day and commute for two more. While I do my best keep fit, before I even turned 40 I've still slipped two lumbar discs in the last 4 years. By adding sessions here to my effort to keep healthy, I have managed to go 6 months (so far) without a relapse. Agata was the first professional I have seen (among 1/2 dozen physios/chiros etc) that addressed the muscles that were failing and putting strain on the back as opposed to just the back itself. My sessions are definitely aimed at prevention rather than cure now, and I couldn't recommend Agata more - 5 stars would be 10 stars if I could read more

I see Peter regularly to fix my aches and pains as I have a very physical job. Not only does he give me the very firm http://www.tmc-chiswick.com/pages/types-of-massage/remedial-massages/deep-tissue.php"Deep Tissue massage that I require but he manages to make it pleasant and relaxing at the same time. Peter is very proffessional and knowledgable, but also has a lovely easy going way about him. I have had loads of massage all over the world and Peter (http://www.tmc-chiswick.com/pages/about-us.php) is definitely right at the top." Friendly staff booked me in last minute and were very sensitive to my needs when working through my massage. Lovely mix of friendly chat and quiet focus through the tighter areas, they were on time and even took a few extra minutes to suggest ways to focus my workout to help relieve some of the tension I was experiencing. Highly recommended. read more

I find it irresistible not to comment on the professional service and advice I have been receiving from The Massage Centre over the past three years. Since I was sixteen sports therapy has been an essential part of my success, playing competitive rugby and long distance running. Now, more senior in age, I find aches and pains from sitting in front of a computer all day, and training when I find time, not a good combination when trying to live a full and active life. Having Fran available for consultation and therapy definitely helps in getting the most out of every day. Fran's unique approach instils confidence and reassurance in my everyday practices. Given his holistic vision and extensive knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, Fran is able to communicate in a highly professional manner details of suitable treatment specific to my needs, so that when leaving The Massage Centre (http://www.tmc-chiswick.com/) I cannot help feeling enlightened and fulfilled 110%. It is always difficult to equate experience gained to expense incurred, but I have never failed to be impressed by Fran's dedication to quality of service and therefore conclude superb value for money. Once again Fran (http://www.tmc-chiswick.com/pages/about-us.php) , thanks for all your help in lifting the spirit to enable me to enjoy my life. Gary Bram read more

Wow!! I have been suffering from tension in the shoulders and neck for some time and given a particularly stressful week, I wanted a massage as soon as possible to try and alleviate the uncomfortable feeling. Not only was it quick to arrange an appointment, Agata, my therapist was extremely thorough and really listened to my needs. It's the first time I felt a massage was actually tailored to me. I will definitely be back. read more

"I have had two seperate occasions to use the services offered by The Massage Centre. The first was in February 2012 prior to a Snowboarding trip as I wanted to ensure that I was in the best shape possible. I was referred to Peter, who diligently unlocked mobility and also gave me excercises to do whilst away to avoid injury. I was so impressed that I organised an extra session a day before I left, just because I knew it would be the best thing for me. The second occasion I visited The Massage Centre was due to a relapse of a back problem I suffer from. In effect, I have lower back pain caused by degraded lumbar discs (L2 and L3). At the time I visited the Massage Centre I was referred to Krissy. Not only did Krissy address the problem, but through careful consideration managed to manipulate muscles that were contributing to the problem that hadn't been worked on for years. I have had sports massages at many places and they all have had a central theme to them. Krissy was able to see beyond that, and as a result not only has the pain subsided completely, but I have regained movement and flexibility that can't even remember having. Most humbling is that this has afforded me a lifestyle that I last experienced 20 years ago in my teens. I will continue to see Krissy (or who ever I am referred to at the Massage Centre (http://www.tmc-chiswick.com/) ) as a means of maintenence because it's literally the best money I can spend on having a personally healthy life."
