Truffle fries with meatballs, marinara, parm, ricotta - The Truck Plate.
    John A.

It's hard to be totally objective here because they came to The Shelton Brothers Beer Festival at the Central Terminal and I was less than sober when consuming their offerings. $15 seems high for their Truck Plate, a big order of truffle fries topped with 2 meatballs, marinara, a little dollop of ricotta, basil, and a sprinkle of shredded parm. It was a large portion for sure, but pricey. Fries were nice and crispy, even covered in tomato sauce. Meatballs were good, but smaller than expected. They're what I'd consider normal sized meatballs, slightly larger than a ping pong ball, but I somewhat expected for the price (and the fact that they're meatball specialists) that they might be the ridiculous baseball-sized meatballs a lot of places do these days. It was delicious, and I certainly don't regret dropping $15 on it, but sober I might be less inclined to spend that money and might not have enjoyed it quite as much as I did in my inebriation-induced-ravenousness.

    Rigatoni with a meatball.

We tried this food truck while at the Lilac festival. I am pretty apprehensive about meatballs that are not made within my family, but my mom suggested we go here. I was extremely satisfied. We got the meatball with rigatoni. It was a pleasant surprise it had a dollop of seasoned ricotta cheese on it. Sauce was flavorful, meatballs were the best I've almost ever had. Rigatoni was cooked perfectly. If you see this food truck, this is a must have!!

Speaking of meatballs, would you like to meet mine? I've never actually tried this food..... in Rochester. I have eaten it in Buffalo though! I mean who hasn't put some big hot juicy balls in their mouth in Buffalo? I'm pretty sure it's the main attraction of Buffalo. Weird, then, that some of the best balls in Buffalo are actually those of a man from Rochester. Who knew. What to get: duh. Meatballs. This Meatball truck often shows up at Larkin Square's Food Truck Tuesdays, and that's where I tried the guys' balls. I have to say they were delicious. They weren't the best balls I ever had, and like most food trucks in this region they're a bit pricy, but they're easily as tasty as the massively popular "Meatball Shop" in Manhattan, and so I have to give them a glowing 5/5. Glowing, like the balls. I like them because they do not taste typical at all. The meat tastes a little spicy and a little exotic and they are exceptionally juicy and wet. They remind me a little bit of the meatball at Osteria and Mulberry, both of which are located in Buffalo. So come on over here, and put these balls in your mouth, just like Chef told you to do.

I had the meatball sub and overall was pretty good. Balls were cooked well but the sandwich could've been much better if.. - a cheap 2-day old hot dog bun wasn't used. For not much more $, why not a fresh piece of Italian bread or something similar? Buttered, grilled and then made. - the first and last bite had no meatball... instead of 2 larger meatballs, why not 3 smaller ones to fill the entire bun? - you melted a little fresh mozzarella on top. I respect being different but a spoonful of ricotta cheese on top equaling a couple bites is lackluster I've had worse but this is a fairly basic sandwich that was just ok. The possibility of it being much better is right there for the taking.

The Meatball In a Cup. Very Good.

Tried the Meatball Truck at the Corn Hill Arts Festival last week and it was great. We ordered the Meatballs and the Fries. The Meatballs come in a cup with light sauce, a dollop of fresh ricotta and a chunk of focaccia, the Fries come topped with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. The Meatballs were very good, they are obviously homemade, and the taste and seasonings remind me of a Sunday Italian meal enjoyed a friends house. The ricotta is fresh and gives the meatball a nice creamy contrast, the focaccia is great on its own and allows you to really dig in and create a nice bite of meat, cheese and bread. The fries were good, not on par with the meatball in my opinion, but there was nothing wrong with them, they were crispy and tasty, the truffle oil didn't add much to the dish but the cheese did give them some zip. I would recommend that if you see this food truck at a fair or outside your work to give it a try, its a nice change of pace from standard food truck fare.

    Meatball truck at the rodeo!

Oh yes! I shared a duo of sliders with Chris L at the Greentopia Food Truck Rodeo. Quite glad I ran into him because this is one tasty meatball. It was true Italian prep, topped with fresh, homemade ricotta (omg!) and a basil leaf. The meatball itself was rich, juicy, and packed with flavor. The red sauce was a chunky, hearty addition, made with quality tomatoes -- always key. I'd say this is a new truck I'm going to have to keep an eye on because that was one killer meatball and I want more. More I say! That bread too is pretty stellar. Grilled and buttery with the little air pockets that capture bits of cheese and sauce as you bite down. Mmm! Can you tell I want one again right now? Next time I'm going to throw in an order of of those parm fries. I can't resist.

Wow wow wow, we had the best wedding ever and it was all thanks to Matt and his family at The Meatball Truck Co!! I can't imagine a better catering service and food truck experience. They helped with every detail from menu ideas for the cocktail hour and dinner to setting up the tables with my center-pieces and dishes and cleaning up everything afterwards. I had a very DIY wedding and purchased all my own dishes and silverware so this was extremely helpful. Matt made us beautiful charcuterie plates for the cocktail hour along with fig, blue cheese and honey bruschetta. For dinner he served all the dishes family style and had salad with homemade ranch dressing and candied walnuts, roasted potatoes, chicken melanzane, and belgian sausage with peppers and onions. My favorite was the chicken dish, but all of them were so delicious! Matt and his family were very flexible with our venue and all my questions and requests. They even brought coffee from DD because I had all these teacups that I wanted to use, it was amazing! At the end of the night Matt showed up with his Meatball food truck and served meatballs, burgers and fries. All of our guests loved this special touch and the food was the best ever to top it off! Matt's whole team went above and beyond and my husband and I are genuinely grateful for all their hard work!

I love food trucks. I grew up in a place where they were common place and I miss the convenience and delicious treats you could get! So when the food truck trend finally arrived in Rochester I was thrilled! Some have been excellent, others not so much. Luckily this one falls into the first category. Because of their set-up, their menu is limited to meatballs, a meatball sub, and truffle french fries. The meatballs are delicious, meaty, and moist, served with a wonderful tomato sauce. Their french fries are also delicious, the hint of truffle oil really elevates the flavor of these crispy fries. I found that serving the meatball sub on a small piece of bread bun was a bit of a letdown, but other than that, everything was great. The serve their food in convenient cardboard boxes that make carryout easy. This seemingly little detail is critical on a food truck. Food truck food should be easy to carry around! The service was efficient and they take credit cards. But the price ($6.00 for french fries!) and the meatball sub, made this expierence a little less than perfect., they still are very close to perfection though!

Super tender, great flavor in the ball and the sauce. Never a poor choice, however, I wish they had more menu choices.

I had the Pulled Pork Fries, which are also available on the food truck menu. They were so good that I wanted to leave a review both here and at the K2 Brewing page. The fries are perfectly crispy and hold up well against the slaw and barbecue sauce. I absolutely loved the sweet and slightly tangy sauce, and the addition of apple cider vinegar is excellent. The slaw is crunchy and provides a good texture contrast to the fries and pork. The pork was so delicious--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I will definitely seek out the truck this summer to try more of their food, and in the meantime I'm glad they're available at K2 Brewing!

Awesome truck for the avid carnivore! while trying a little bit of everything at a local festival I…read moreran into this spot. Their menu is small and straight forward, but it seems like a lot of their menu items had big portions. I inquired if they served any of their meats a la carte so I don't stuff myself before hitting the next truck. Unfortunately they don't, however the staff member was more than happy to let me sample pieces of their pulled pork and brisket before deciding. Both of these meats were awesome but lacked the heavy smokey flavor I was looking for directly. No worries, because they were still so good that I opted for the Connor Plate knowing well that I couldn't finish it all. For $12 the Connor Plate was a heaping portion of meat, mac salad, corn and beans. The mac salad was not too heavy on the mustard and mayo (perfect!) and the bean medley was sweet and abundant. The barbecue sauce was added the savory and smokey flavor I wanted but was also sweet. The whole pallet of the dish is a little too sweet for me but for everyone else, this dish is still a solid choice! I think they might have other sauce options (hopefully something spicy), so I look forward to checking them out again and pigging out!
