This was a random chance experience. Meaning, someone was asking if I was interested in seeing a mentalist and I said, "Okay, I'm in." I have seen performances like this before. So, for the content I was somewhat prepared and the nail gun "trick" was something I have seen specifically done before by someone else, maybe Penn and Teller? Either way, it doesn't matter. Gerry McCambridge not only does an outstanding job but he is literally The Mentalist. From the internet: "In 2002 Gerry wrote his first TV script titled "The Mentalist" and took it out to Los Angeles to pitch it to the major networks. Jeff Zucker, the president of NBC witnessed Gerry's live performances many times, and instantly licensed the special for his network. Was a pretty cool show. We couldn't figure out how in the world he did the rubic cube trick or how he had the lottery balls figured out when it all seemed so random. Thought it was interesting that me and my son were front row dead center but he didn't pick us to participate in the show but chose everyone around us. He didn't ask anyone who looked like us to participate and I found that a little hurtful but for that reason I won't go back. Overall it was an interesting experience. read more

Date of visit: 8/21/22 Having experienced Colin Cloud as part of the Shin Lim show, we knew that this would be something Mom would love when we brought her back to Vegas and it did not disappoint! Having Mom actually be part of the show with her index card "selected" was a nice extra touch; I don't think she believes me that I didn't do anything to have her be part of the show, ha ha! While there obviously has to be some kind of trick behind what it is that Gerry does, I can't figure it out and instead chose to just sit back and enjoy the show instead, and I am glad that we did. The theatre is really nothing to write home (or to Yelp) about, though I will say the seats were comfortable and the joint appeared clean. If this more basic theatre helps keep ticket costs low, I have no complaints! read more

Gerry was simply amazing. He covered so many tasks in one hour. He left us in awe repeatedly and kept raising and meeting our expectations in a consistent manner throughout the show. His mentalist skills are mind blowing for sure but what mattered even more was his entertainment ability. He kept the audience very involved. This being a smaller audience (unlike the big shows with several hundreds of people), it felt more personal. You want to be picked and you don't want to be picked. It's fun to be on stage but he kept that little element of fear in us on how he COULD unwind your more personal stuff (if not your darkest secrets, haha). I think it was intentional. If you check in on yelp, you get a discount of 50% for additional shows. Gerry also gave some lucky winners a few souvenirs. All the guests received a key chain with their photo with LV scenery in the background. That's a nice touch by the showrunners. I would 100% recommend it. read more

Over rated. OK if you need to kill time. Be warned- the theater seating is horrible- do NOT sit in the " Cove" area as you will not see half of the show. The show itself was mediocre and tired. Bought last minute tickets to the show. Came here during nye week. I always enjoyed watching magic shows even though they are fake but are fascinating. This show is totally different. Gerry did so well interacting with the whole audience. About 50% of the audience were able to be part of the show. Each trick was so cool and left me shocked as I had no idea how he did that! After watching his show, made me feel like maybe there is such thing as magic lol After the show ended, people were able to take pictures. This was a very entertaining show. BUY TICKETS, SERIOUSLY!! Initially I was skeptical and came in with that sense of this could be completely staged and fake but I was open minded, by the end I purchased his book and I really had a great time and would definitely see him again. The show was SO ENTERTAINING And I really recommend sitting as close as possible! He's so funny's and great at talking to people. I didn't get picked but it was great to see him perform. There was some points in the show where I was literally scared for his life but it was so good and I would definitely see him again if I'm in Vegas. I highly recommend this show as one of the best shows in Vegas and definitely go if you need a good laugh !! He's also such a NICE guy it's unreal how down to earth he is. It is really magic how he has the ability to engage an entire theater that comes from all walks of life. The Mentalist is currently at the V Theater located in the Miracle Mile Shops within Planet Hollywood. It's a small, upstairs room seating about 120 people. Online, it says 129 are VIP, and 70 are general admission...so don't get too excited if you have VIP seats, I think that's the only ones they sell and close off the GA seating area. Also, it's far from deluxe. Gerry McCambridge is The Mentalist, and has a fascinating show that are a combination of magic, comedy, and psychic ability. And, it has the WOW and IMPOSSIBLE factor. The gf and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. But when discussing some of the feats, we were left thinking that it was either, or both, planted members of the audience or perhaps, name info grabbed at the ticket purchase. Whatever the case, it's still enjoyable and well worth the $70 ticket. read more

We personally did not enjoy the show. Waste of money. He's somewhat creepy and not with the times. Needs to leave the gender comments out. Also, watching him hold nail guns up to his head was just not for us. I will say it seemed as if a lot of other enjoyed. Maybe magic just isn't for us. I do not recommend. read more

Expect the Unexpected! The theater is small and intimate, located at the V Theater inside the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile. As soon as The Mentalist walks onstage he has a very strong presence and draws the audience in immediately. He is warm, sincere and very personable. The main aspect of the show I truly love is his ability to bring all the guests together as a group. No one was looking at their phones, everyone was engaged and it felt like a family. Even though the room is full of strangers, he brings everyone together, interacting and communicating with one another. Its very rare these days to have 200 people become 'one' with another. He has a knack to create an interactive show where the guests are part of his show and part of each other. After the show he generously takes photos with everyone and speaks kindly with all the guests. Lots of great options to buy his best-selling novel and much more! Some of the "tricks" were sloppy, so it wasn't difficult to figure out what he did. If you will just be entertained and don't expect to be wowed, this is an affordable (find discount tickets) show. He would explain a little on the subtle clues people give out on answering simple questions and as he picked random people in dozens of scenarios he really had everyone's jaws dropping! We got great seats front row center, but it is a pretty small venue, so I would think you could see just fine from anywhere. No need to get there early as they didn't seat early so you have to wait in line. Better to walk in at the end. When we called to book tickets, they offered us the chance to pre-purchase drinks for $10 each. Seemed like a pretty good deal for Vegas. I was not VIP and I felt like I got a full experience since the theater is small and intimate. He pretty much makes most of the guest part of the show and I was no exception being pull up on stage in the first 5 minutes but I was with 2 friends so it wasn't that bad. I have seen the Mentalist show twice and both times were great. The first time I saw the show, I was in Vegas for work. I was looking for something funny to watch so I could laugh and unwind after a hard day of work. While googling Las Vegas shows, the Mentalist showed up as one of the top options. Also, much to my surprise and luck, the theater the mentalist performs at (inside the Miracle Mile Shops) happened to be connected to my hotel, so I could easily walk to the venue and make it on time after my full day of work. I'm a fan of crude humor and Gerry seems to have mastered it while still, somehow, managing to be tasteful. This definitely isn't the kind of show most people who do not like crude humor will enjoy. I'm sure my chuckles could be heard by all, because I found his humor amusing. I was also selected by a male audience member as the "hottest chick in the audience" and had to go on stage and participate. Nothing like putting an awkward girl on stage! I'm glad I did it though and it's an experience I will never forget. Definitely gave the ego a much needed boost. As mentioned above, I was having a hard day of work and it was nice to be chosen to do something out of the ordinary. Also, his predictions were creepily accurate and I think he would impress just about an skeptic with his mentalist abilities. If you're looking for a fun show that's reasonably priced compared to other shows out there (including the ridiculously expensive shows that are not nearly as entertaining) I highly recommend you see the Mentalist.
