Espresso brownie, iced latte, black coffee & chai glazed cardamom bun @ original location
    Tvisha G.

I had to try this super hyped coffee spot while I was in Edinburgh. We stopped by the new location first to take some pictures, but ended up getting our coffee and pastries from the original location further down the street. We ordered an iced latte, a black coffee, an espresso walnut brownie, and the chai glazed cardamom bun. The staff was nice and gave us a few recommendations, which were super helpful since it was our first time there. The café itself is pretty small, with limited indoor seating and a few tables outside. There was an organized queue to get in and order, but it moved pretty quickly, so the wait wasn't bad at all. Everything was good, but I can't say it was the best coffee or pastries I've ever had. Maybe my expectations were just too high because of all the hype, but I was definitely expecting a little more.

I went there early in the morning! It was not too busy but there are a few guests there already. The decors are very chic. And cashier and barista are both very friendly! I shared the window sitting area with another guest. So many yummy pastries to choose from. I got cardamom and saffron bun and chai latte! They are both delicious and definitely worth the visit.

I went to the Milkman a few times for a coffee while in Edinburgh! The staff keeps the line moving and helps with the flow of foot traffic. I LOVED the tomato/cheese croissant and inhaled it so fast that I didn't get any photos. This is a cute (read: Instagrammable) spot and there are a couple of locations in the area.

The pastries were okay. I was disappointed given how many times I see it being recommended. After trying it, my hunch is that there aren't many other places in Edinburgh that make pastries? Definitely don't wait in line if there are more than 10 people in it. When we went, there were 6 people in front of us and it went by fairly quickly - about 7-8 minutes. I got the cruffin and morning bun, both not bad, just fine.

One of the places with the best view in Edinburgh. People literally compete to grab the corner seats by the window. Sure, the view is beautiful, but nothing should overshadow the amazing coffee and the bakery items that make you want to eat the entire counter. In my 42 years of life, I've never had a cinnamon bun this good anywhere in the world. I think I'll spend the rest of my life searching for this exact flavor again. The Milkman will stay in my memory just as vividly as Edinburgh itself.

A latte and an almond croissant

obviously, as a coffee lover, I had to try this place because it is high on everyone's list of recommendations. Everything was great. I had a latte which was good, not my favorite, but definitely drinkable. The pastries were amazing, and I had an almond croissant, which definitely was the highlight of this stop.

Friendly service, great coffees and perfectly baked sweet treats! Smaller inside than I thought from other pics.almond croissant and flat white highly recommend.

Cappuccino was delicious. Service: friendly staff, welcoming the moment you walk in. Ambience: quaint and cozy, this location is very limited on space on the inside. If you're early before the rush you may be able to grab a seat. When weather permits it's nice to sit on the outside.

It was a suggestion by 2 locals and glad we stopped by! The shop is cozy and Welcoming but pretty small. During peak times you will find a line out the door, but if you are patient the coffee is worth it. I always visit local coffee shops while I travel and the Milkman was no disappointment. They have pastries and merch as well, which adds to the adventure.

Super cozy cafe! Definitely a gem, the baked good are delicious and they make good drinks. I'd say it's worth the line! Glad I stopped by.

Friday mid-morning and queued for about 20 minutes, thankfully with no rain! High quality pastries and coffee.

Their oat milk latte hits the spot on a cold windy morning. Stopped in here a couple times on my vacation. The pastries are delicious too.

Slotted in on Rose Street, at the back of the huge and imposing columned Dome buiding, this gorgeous little city-centre oasis is the perfect place to rest your shopping-weary feet and have a tasty lunch. It's only open from april to early september, and although it's tucked down a narrow street this place is a great little suntrap. You can get wraps, salads, soups, burgers, that sort of thing here - not a full á la carte lunch, but the portions are fairly generous so you'll only need one course. The service was ok, but our waiter didn't even bother to bring us our change back. We had been planning to leave it as a tip for him, but we thought it was a bit cheeky of him just to assume, especially when service is already included in the prices. For a salad and a soft drink you'll spend just over £10 a head, which makes it slightly pricier than a lot of other lunchtime cafés nearby, but this setting is just so gorgeous I'd happily pay the difference.

The cafe was an adorable old house turned into a cafe and we got a seat near the back looking over the garden in the back of the space. It was really nice. My wife got the seasonal eggs Benedict and I got the peas a la salt. The Bennedict was good, but seemed like it was missing something. My best guess is that it's just the English muffin wasn't as sturdy as I'm used to and I'm used to it that way. The peas a la salt came over sourdough bread with bacon, black pudding and a poached egg. Same as the Bennedict, it was all yummy, but not amazing. The peas were very far from mushy (which is good), but maybe could have been a bit firmer. Things just didn't quite come together the way I would have hoped.
