Small but modern and clean bathrooms. The tables are nice but the chairs, both inside and in the outdoor ceremony area, are hard and uncomfortable. The outdoor wedding area has a pebble main aisle. The wedding party knew so the girls wore flats, but many of the women guests had a hard time with their heels. The area outdoors is sloped downwards toward the pond, so everyone gets a good look at the area where the couple exchange vows. The pond is very pretty, and there is a very small, maybe 1/2 acre, grape vine area. I believe this was planted to justify the winery theme in portions of the venue. The bar area is very basic, not even a sink, so the parties need to use ice tubs and kegs and keep the drinks very simple.

We've been going to Turtle Lake for more than 10 years on and off (wish it could be more often)…read more We've stayed in the lodge and now have a small motorhome. Both types of quarters have their qualities- just depends on how you like to vacation. There are so many things to do here! Beautiful indoor pool. Really nice tiki bar next to the "conversation pool", a rec building with pool, darts, cards... There are volleyball nets, shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball courts and more! We've never stayed in one of the"park model" units, but they look lovely. There are dances on Saturday nights and themed weekends during the summer. We love it out here. A couple things to keep in mind: This is a FAMILY resort. There are a few families with kids. Sort of took me by surprise when we first visited, but everyone is very relaxed and take all things in stride. This is NOT a swingers place. No one is looking to "hook up". No one cares about the size of your butt or whether you have weird surgery scars. This is a place where everyone enjoys what you can't do most other places: relax, feel comfortable in your own skin and meet new friends. As a woman, I can honestly tell you I was freaked out about going the first time. We're taught to obsess about cellulite and wrinkles. I've never felt as confidant and comfortable as I do at TLR. It becomes obvious right away that no one judges you... about anything! Once you shed your clothes, no one can tell if your rich or making this the one vacation you can take every couple of years. You don't have to compare yourself with a anyone else on any level. And guys... don't worry about being aroused or embarrassed. After a little adjustment period, when you get used to people being friendly and smiling a lot, you just don't feel like you have to be someone you aren't either. You get to know people for who they are. It sounds corny, but you feel natural here. You appreciate people for what's inside. I'm still a little bummed that they don't have the motorcycle rallies anymore (such a blast!) but everything else keeps getting better here. ;) You should visit! Really! (Bring SUNSCREEN!)

That level of generosity and trust speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. Beyond her incredible work, Missie is simply one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. She is calm, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about weddings. We could have talked for hours. She stays incredibly up to date on the wedding industry, is full of wonderful ideas, and somehow always makes you feel heard. No matter how many ideas I brought to her, she always listened first and made sure our ideas remained the priority. Although we only hired Fineline Events for setup and teardown, I have absolutely no doubt that Missie could plan and coordinate an entire wedding from start to finish. She never tried to upsell us or convince us we needed services we didn't. Instead, she met us exactly where we were, respected every decision we had already made, and filled the exact role we needed. That flexibility is one of the many reasons I would recommend her to any couple, whether you're starting from scratch or already have everything planned. Walking into our reception and seeing two years of planning come to life without having to worry about a single detail is something I'll never forget. Then, after the wedding, hearing the heartfelt voicemail Missie left on our audio guestbook brought me to tears. If anyone gets turned away from firekeepers I suggest trying the baymont hotel in battle creek . Great service, very nice and helpful staff, awesome room. For dinner we recommend clares on the river.
