Chef Andrew prepared two meals for our family vacation in Tahoe. All I had to do was pick out our menu, and he did the rest. He set the table beautifully and created a lovely buffet. The food was absolutely delicious. My son-in-law is a tough critic - he is rarely happy with the taste of meals at restaurants - and he loved the food and thought "it was very flavorful". As we were talking to Chef Andrew the first night, it was brought up that he likes chocolate chip cookies, so the second night he actually made a batch a brought some for us to try. Andrew is communicative and helpful in the lead up to the event, so we knew exactly how the day would go. He showed up on time, was professional and made an exceptionally delicious dinner. Andrew was a great chef for my wife's 40th birthday party. He's very professional and takes his work seriously. His appetizers were absolutely delicious and the presentation was great. The short ribs were incredibly fast but there were a few chewy bits on the meat near the bones. I recently had an intimate 14-person group celebrating my wedding near South Lake Tahoe on September 10th, 2022, and Andrew's food was nothing short of magnificent! He went above and beyond to impress with the creation of a stellar menu by personally tailoring a 4-course meal based on my requests for a plant-based meal, catered to allergies, and provided multiple options for me to choose from during this process. Andrew arrived with his lovely assistant, Kendall who facilitated with all preparation, serving, and cleanup. The quality of the food was nothing short of spectacular, using the finest ingredients including but not limited to fresh homemade campanelle pasta, homegrown squash, multicolored heirloom tomatoes, and truffles from the first of the season. Andrew was humble yet passionate and informative about the origins of the special ingredients of the meal. His knowledge and genuine passion radiated in his food. Despite lack of meat, both my plant-based and typically meat-eating guests were incredibly pleased, specifically raving about the puff pastry tomato tart and mouthwatering cheese truffle pasta. By the end of the night, we were all thoroughly stuffed, and yet, he was generous with portions so I was able to enjoy leftover treats for days after as well, which was certainly a highlight. I'm still getting compliments about the food to this day! In planning this event, I researched many caterers, and his reviews and website spoke volumes. I was thrilled that I hired him, as he truly exceeded every expectation I had. Chef Andrew has my highest praise. I have done many private chef dinners over the years and he was, hands down, the best. His food is amazing and his preparation is meticulous, thoughtful (dare I say mindful haha), and all around so impressive. From the very beginning, his website and menus were awesome and his correspondence was timely, professional, and clear. His website and branding is so well-done and it was all created by him. I'd describe him as a true artist/creative with a noticeable attention to detail. He catered a small dinner for two families with young kids. We were so excited for the dinner and it was even more amazing than we expected. Again, I give his food my highest rating but its him that really makes the experience. Whether the room is full of vegans, carnivores, or other varying other diets, his food is thoughtfully prepared and luxurious in flavor. Each time I have had the pleasure of enjoying Chef Andrew's food, I am left inspired by his creativity and humbled by his use of ingredients. His skill and passion to take seasonal and local products, and turn them into scratch made delicacies, is unmatched by any chef/restaurant you can find - and not just in Tahoe. A few personal favorites of mine are his roasted cauliflower soup, jackfruit bao buns (buns are made fresh himself!), and this absolutely incredible made from scratch cashew-ricotta, radicchio, pizza. (My partner will tell you it's his incredible pomegranate seed, herby roasted chicken.) Still dreaming about it all months later! It doesn't matter if it's a multi-day, multi-course event of 50 people with varying diets, or hosting an intimate dinner party - Chef Andrew far exceeds all expectations. We hired Chef Andrew for our small, intimate wedding dinner and from start to finish, everything was exceptional! From first communicating with Andrew about our needs and ironing out the details was seamless! He is so responsive and a great communicator! He arrived to our air bnb to start working and we left for our ceremony. When we got back home the aromas that filled the house were heavenly! Andrew and his sous chef Kendall were so warm and welcoming and served us the most amazing appetizer to start. We then all sat at our tables and they served us the second, third, fourth and fifth course and everything was to die for!!! Each course was served and described in detail. Everything cooked perfectly, with the perfect amount of unique and delectable flavors intertwined. The amount of food that came with each course was the perfect size, not too small and not too much. Timing was great, everything was hot, but not too hot like the soup was perfect temp (that's hard to do in a large group!) and ending the night with an awesome deconstructed dessert.
