All of their furnishings are from smoke free homes and displayed appropriately with no scratches dents or dings. They take pride in furniture sales. Tacky. I had found a furniture piece there about two months ago n expressed interest to a sales rep. Called and/or visited the store to continue to express to that same sales rep my interest in that piece. She told me the piece wold reduce price on 09/22. She called me this am 09/21 to tell me it was reduced in price today. I said I would come to the store today to buy it. I arrived at the store 2.5 hours after that call CASH IN HAND to get the piece. The rep told me "I have bad news. We just sold the piece. No "I'm sorry..." or even Let me show you some other pieces you might like." Poor salesmanship. I'll never go back. read more

I tried to consign a china cabinet, I sent photos and we agreed on a pick up date! My mother just passed away and we had to clear out her furniture. The mover's arrived, after inspecting the item they told me that because of some minor chips it could not be accepted. On top of that they would not refund the $50 delivery fee that I had already paid. Beware if you decide to use these people they are ruthless! Unless your item is in perfect condition they will reject it and you will be out the delivery fee! read more

Excellent variety of designer furniture, but I do not recommend their movers. The white pedestal table and chairs set I bought arrived chipped because they did not individually wrap each piece and tape the blankets. The furniture moved in the truck and it was damaged. I highly recommend Golden Movers for furniture delivery or an entire move. read more

Went into this store with my sister and the sales staff followed us around and were very snotty. I saw a couch that I was going to purchase and instead we turned around and walked out. We went down 19 to Macy's Furniture Center. Received outstanding customer service from several sales people. Wound up buying a rug, couch and two chairs. We have been redecorating our home for what feels like forever. I have been on the hunt for the perfect bedroom furniture for months. I have been to more furniture stores that I can count all around the West and Central areas of Florida. I had a general idea of the style I wanted, but was certain that I wanted quality crafted real wood furniture and not pressed wood. I was shopping at another furniture store in the same area when I happend to pass by The Missing Piece. After my disappointment at so many other furniture stores I hesitated to visit one more that day. I had a good feeling when I first entered the store, it was well lit, the furniture was featured well and there were many styles available to choose from. My expectations of finding something here that day were lowe but I was pleasantly surprised. I first found a tall gentleman's chest with straight clean lines, it just was perfect. Barbara was patient with my questions about different styles and pieces to match. She is extremely knowledgeable about various styles, colors and all offerings both on display and in the back of the store just waiting to hit the floor. The staff went out of their way to move the suggested pieces from different areas of the store to the same location in order for me to view them as a set. I left The Missing Piece that day both relieved and excited. During the week or so prior to my furniture being delivered, I was a bit anxious, but everything fit perfectly in my room and looks just as beautiful in my home as it did in the store. Totally addicted! We moved from out of state and are currently renting a home. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on furniture that may not fit in our forever home. We also didn't want to buy cheap ..... well ..... crap! Our landlord told us about the Missing Piece. We have purchased quite a few pieces - both in Tampa and Clearwater. I get to enjoy beautiful high end furniture that I love! And the delivery can't be beat! $90 up to 5 pieces $10 each additional. Totally worth it! I got a stone backyard table and 8 chairs, a breakfront, an Armoire and a sectional delivered for 90 bucks! The staff are helpful, knowledgable and are always willing to go out of their way to help you find your favorite missing piece! Oh and the pricing! How much fun! We have bought some lovely pieces to set up our new home. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to shop in. Nice people too. Helpful and knowledgeable. For anyone that goes into a furniture store no matter where you shop you need to know your measurements of where you are placing your pieces. Most places you shop from don't take returns, so be prepared when it comes to big ticket items. Furniture should not be impulse. Go with color swatches, measurements, a plan in hand. But this kind of store be prepared not to see it again if you wait and come back. You snooze you lose. Love to make a plan to shop there when I need something to fill a spot in our home or just enjoy the lovely displays. Will be back soon. read more

If I could give them negative 3 stars, that would make more sense! I sold some pieces with this company and had no issue with the way the pieces were sold. The problem came when a check they said they mailed, never made it to my house. I waited over 30 days past the time for it to show up, began calling periodically, with NO RETURN PHONE CALLS. I had to show up and ask to see the manager, who asked me to wait another 30 days... I went back again and he agreed to cut a check to be ready the following week. The next week I stopped by to pick up the check and was met by the Owner, who told me she wasn't going to cut a new check, that I must have thrown it out by accident and she wasn't going to pay the $30 cancellation fee! She said I could wait 90 days!!! Basically she said, "Sorry, it's not my problem!" In 43 years, I've met very, very few small business owners that don't get customer service and this owner DOES NOT GET IT! She is very egotistical and could care less about serving the people who trust her to sell their furniture. I won't ever do business with them again, nor can I recommend them to anyone I know in the real estate industry! read more

Good stuff - Bad staff! We arrived with a trailer at 4:30 pm, needing to furnish a vacation home quickly. Wanted to buy a coffee table that they've had on the floor for 60 days - it was due to reduce to the final price in less than 8 hours. But they wouldn't give us the next discount price, wouldn't deal, wouldn't call the consignor to see if they'd be willing to sell it for the "in-less-than-8-hours price" and told us they weren't interested in selling it to us today anyway because the staff that actually lift/carry goods had left for the day. In short, the consignor lost the sale because the staff wasn't willing to work with us to make the sale. And their attitude was unfriendly & unhelpful. I left a note for the consignor to say I'd be willing to pay the next day discount price - if they'd be willing to pay the shipping (since I will no longer have the trailer so can't drive to the store to pick up the item myself again). It'd be interesting to know if they even give the note to the consignor and/or if they explain that they passed up a sale because they were unwilling to help us carry the piece to the trailer and give us a discount reflecting the fact that the price was due to decline in less than 8 hours. I won't shop here again - and will tell all my friends to avoid it. There are much more helpful stores with good quality merchandise and helpful staff in the area - like Dwell inTampa or Deja Vue in St. Petersberg or Iverson's in Sarasota. Go there instead! And if you're a consignor, you probably want to work with a store with staff that are more customer-friendly! read more
