City Furniture continues to insist that I should have to pay $50 to have inspector confirm that they sold me a defective product. If they do not believe me when I tell them their product is defective they are free to hire an inspector to come look at it. This should not be my responsibility. I do not sell defective products and if I did I would most certainly apologize and replace free of any charge. It's THE RIGHT THING TO DO and it's good business. We will see and I will update. City Furniture could refund the $150 it cost me to have defective product they sold replaced. After purchasing the defective mattress from City Furniture I was required to pay $50 to inspector to confirm defect. I was then required to pay an additional $100 for them to deliver a replacement mattress. In short, because Serta made a defective mattress and City Furniture sold this defective product I was required to pay $150. More than if I had simply received a good product to begin with. These cost should have been absorbed by City Furniture because they sold the poor quality product causing me substantial inconvenience, who then, if they wished could recoup them from Serta who made the poor product to begin with or simply not sell poor quality products. read more

I purchased a sofa set from City Furniture and was told by the salesperson that the insurance plan would cover any issues. I signed up for this insurance expecting peace of mind. Unfortunately, after only two months of use, the fabric started to fray. When I contacted customer service, I had a very disappointing experience. Instead of resolving the issue quickly, they told me I have to wait until the replacement fabric arrives to fix my sofa. No one has offered real help or a timely solution. This has been a frustrating and unpleasant experience. When you buy furniture, you expect quality and good customer service, especially when you pay extra for insurance. Very disappointed with our experience with City Furniture. During our 12/31 delivery, their crew damaged our brand-new townhouse -- scuffed and dinged drywall on all three stairwells, ceiling scuffs, carpet stains, and a dinged nightstand. We reported it immediately and provided photos, but after weeks of follow-up, they responded saying they would not take responsibility for any of the damages. This was supposed to be white glove service, and it absolutely was not. We even paid the delivery team out of pocket to carry mattresses upstairs. We ended up paying $300 for professional painters to repair the damage ourselves. We chose them because they are part of Nationwide Marketing Group, as we are, hoping to support a fellow independent retailer. The charleston bunk bed is apparently a piece of junk because I kept being offered damaged pieces. The delivery service was even worse. I paid for premium delivery which was anything but. After the first attempt to set up and deliver a bunkbed, I was left with a half assembled bed because of a damaged piece. Two subsequent orders to replace that piece were also damaged. So because I needed the bed the day that the third delivery was supposed to happen, I proposed accepting the original bed at a discounted price as long as they came and finished the set up that day. I was told customer service would get back to me and instead my delivery/installation was canceled and when I called three minutes later to have that stopped, I was told it wasn't possible, so I did not have a bed for my guests on the day that it was promised, which was a week after my original delivery date. I probably spent two hours on the phone with representatives who barely spoke English and ended up being no help at all. After all of that, when I finally got my bed set up I was left with a big ugly sticker on the front of the bed, which is almost impossible to get off without chemicals. read more

As a follow up to my recent review. City Furniture reached out and offered us 30% off our next purchase! Why would we patronize this horrible establishment? We bought a couch for $5K and in two years our white leather looks black! They stated it was our body chemicals. I asked what lab tested this (off course they never took a sample or even tried to clean it). Then they changed their tune to "it is overuse wear and tear". My wife and I are in our 60's! There is no over-use. They are a horrible company that doesn't stand behind their warranties. BTW we bought the extended warranty! What a waste of money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. What you see in the store is higher quality than what you will receive. They will make you wait for a delivery for about a month to forget the product and then they send you a cheap replica. Checked out the new City Furniture location in Clearwater this weekend. They had their Grand Opening and Giveaways and drinks and snacks etc. We only had time to visit the first floor which was nice and set up very organized. They have diff themes of each set up of areas. Our fave was probably the Glam area. We liked a comfy coach but the colors were only beige and gray black. They don't have much color selection, but in one other area I did see a dark blue and some velvet. The service was nice. Everyone was friendly and they were walking around with I pads. They didn't seem too salesy or pushy either and were very welcoming of our furbaby who has to also test the coach too. Prices, I did see some sales. And of course the one I wanted was almost $2K. We will come back another time and check out the selection on the second floor but it's nice to get an idea of what's out there. There's also a cafe with wine, beer, coffee, smoothies, & snack if you are really wanting to hang out for a bit while you decide on your home furnishings. This is based off an order I did over the phone with Richard. I called on a Tuesday and he confirmed a Thursday delivery date. When I called him at 5pm on Thursday he just woke up and was not in the store so I called the store. An associate said the order would arrive next Thursday. I called the City in Plant City due to how unreliable this location was and he said no one scheduled anything. This is my first time doing business with City. With the price tag of the pieces we purchased, I am genuinely concerned about the level of organization, communication, and professionalism lack thereof is conducted here. Not sure if the associates in Clearwater are a true representation of this furniture store. I am told the furniture should arrive at a later date, but given this track record, I am not holding my breath. Transparency and honesty are key in a good business relationship. read more

I bought a sectional from City Furniture a little over a year ago. Within two months, the seam on the chaise pulled apart. I reported it and waited three months for a replacement cover. Once installed, the fabric doesn't match the rest of the couch due to normal wear. Even worse, the technician admitted it's a known defect with this sofa style and said other customers have received full replacements--but I was offered just a $200 credit. Completely unacceptable. I now have a patched-up, mismatched sectional due to a defect that City Furniture has known about. Do better. I want the entire cover replaced or a matching new sectional. read more

that's definitely the same color right? we ordered a sectional from city furniture about a month ago and the experience in store was nice. everything was clean and looked great. fast forward to tuesday. we get 2 pieces out of 4 delivered. the delivery guy connected us with a customer service agent who said that they're completely sold out of that couch and we'd have to contact the store. after HOURS AND HOURS and ME having to call back and check in when no one else did they finally told me that my only option was to return or i could get the floor model but i'd have to pay for delivery because "they don't deliver from their store" ... we had already sat on all the couches in the store and we had only liked that one so i said fine i'll take the floor model. it was then another nightmare trying to get the third party delivery coordinated. jeremy our sales rep was out and richard took our call. he was EXTREMELY RUDE and SO CONDESCENDING. we had called to inquire and asked simple questions and he was EXTREMELY HOSTILE! he REFUSED to give us a manager no matter how many times we asked. we still haven't EVER been connected with a manager!!!!!!! never in my life have i not been able to speak to a manager about a concern with my order!!!!!!!!!! it's ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we finally get the floor model delivered and oh wow shocker they didn't have it ready or know what they were even giving to our third party delivery guy (so glad they wasted his time as well) after our floor model was delivered we find out that ITS NOT THE SAME COLOR!!!!!!!! i call jeremy and he's no help. i call "customer care" and they refused to give me a refund for EITHER OF MY ORDERS!!!!! i tried getting my delivery fee refunded they said no!!!!!! i tried getting just 2 pieces refunded and they said no!!!!!! this is by far the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and the most infuriating, ridiculous use of my time. i don't want to return the furniture and get store credit. i don't want to return the furniture and have nothing. i want a refund since they can't give me back the 12 hours of my life they've wasted. i cannot express how frustrated and disrespected i feel. read more

Several months ago we purchased approximately 9K worth of furniture including delivery and assembly from this City Furniture. The furniture was of the quality we expected. The assembly was abysmal as the dining room table, two chair with ottomans were secured with finger-tight bolts. My wife and I have had to completely re-assemble the chairs, the ottoman and the table. In the case of one ottoman, there was a bolt missing. Rest assured, in the future I'll do my own assembly. For the 1K+ we paid to have delivery & assembly done, we got a 2-star job and nothing better. read more

Buyer Beware - Nice Furniture, Horrible Service I had a very disappointing experience with City Furniture. While the furniture itself looks nice, the customer service was extremely poor from start to finish. First, the sales rep tried to upsell us by pushing a motorized couch but failed to clearly price out the motor until we specifically asked for the full cost. Then, instead of ordering the modular couch we had selected, the sales associate mistakenly ordered a full couch - which was not what we wanted. To make matters worse, we were never told how important it was to confirm a follow-up email - an email that can easily end up in your spam folder. If you don't confirm it, they won't deliver your couch, and the responsibility apparently falls entirely on the customer. No one at the store made this clear to us. Eventually, we were told the couch would not arrive for another 10 days, thus we had to cancel the entire order as we could not wait that long which was part of the reason we purchased at City Furniture. It also seems that the salespeople work strictly on commission, which might explain the aggressive upselling and lack of attention to detail once the sale is made. They're happy to take your money, but the follow-through is shockingly bad. Unless you're prepared to double-check every detail yourself and chase down your own delivery, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

I visited the UTC showroom on July 5th. I walked around the showroom twice downstairs and once upstairs, passing by multiple employees with ipads strapped around them. Not a single employee said "Hello" or "May I help you." When I mentioned this to the manager on the way out I received the reply "this is still a learning curve for us." I have now lost three working days and wasted more than five hours on the phone with multiple unhelpful personnel. Following is the history of my unresolved issue: * Tuesday, Feb. 4th at 1:15pm: I filed a claim regarding a tear in my Skylar Gray Fabric Wedge; I received a confirmation email at 1:17pm that my claim had been received * Tuesday, Feb. 11th at 2:13pm: I received a confirmed repair appointment scheduled for 2-13-2025 * 2-13-2025: The technician never showed up and I did not receive ANY communication. I called Warranty Claims and was told the technician's "wife was sick" and that the appointment had now been rescheduled for 2-17-2025. * 2-17-2025: Again, the technician never showed up and I did not receive ANY communication. I again called Warranty Claims and was told the appointment had now been rescheduled for 2-24-2025. No explanation was provided for why I was not contacted or informed that the appointment had now been rescheduled for a second time. * 2-24-2025: Not wanting to lose another entire day of work, I called Warranty Claims to confirm that a technician would in fact be arriving. I was assured by "Giomaira" that the technician, "Godwin", would definitely be arriving by 8pm. Yet again, and now for the third time, the technician never showed up. * 2-25-2025: I called Warranty Claims and was informed by "Keneishb" that the appointment had now been rescheduled to 3-3-2025. I informed "Keneishb" that this was not acceptable and demanded to be transferred to a supervisor. After being on hold for several minutes, "Keneishb" came back on the line and stated that the supervisors were "all in a meeting" and that I would have to wait for someone to call me back. read more

Don't buy furniture from City Furniture!! We purchased a bedroom set and upon delivery and setup, several dresser drawers were hard to open and close. We were told to give it a year for the drawers to "get worked in." A year later, and two drawers broken, we called again and were told the parts would take 4-6 weeks. We get the parts delivered and now are told there is only one service technician in our area and we have to wait another month for him to come. In the meantime, we have a dresser with two drawers sitting out. Instead of spending money on your coffee/wine bar in the stores, focus on having parts on hand, not overseas, and hire more service technicians!!! read more

Our salesperson, Lucas Capuzzo, as well as Demi, were very helpful and worked hard in assisting us in making the right selection of a rug and leather sofa/loveseat. We returned to the store several times to take measurements to ensure the furniture will fit. Everyone was very patient and accommodating - now we're waiting for delivery and hoping all goes well. After losing my mom at Christmas, February my father 72, was ready to get back into the master bedroom. We went to Ashley. Over $5k spent on a bedroom suite to include a mattress. My father was allergic to the materials used inside the built in cover (fiberglass and latex) and we were not aware. 72 hours return policy is ridiculous. Ashley didn't care. We should of waited for City to open. Michael Salem, a longtime family friend was open to hearing the concerns we had and what my father needed to sleep and stay healthy. My father was still sleeping in his chair. We went to City and met Mike April 27th. He was ready with hypoallergenic beds and covers. He wanted my father to lay down longer than 2 minutes to actually get a better feel. We were not rushed; we were not taken to the most expensive bed. We, my father, was treated with respect and care. My dad's new bed came Tuesday 4/30. He sleeps great, no allergic reactions and will not purchase any furniture from anywhere else besides City Furniture. Mike Salem and City Furniture truly cares.
