    Very disappointed with our experience with City Furniture. During our 12/31 delivery, their crew damaged our brand-new townhouse -- scuffed and dinged drywall on all three stairwells, ceiling scuffs, carpet stains, and a dinged nightstand. We reported it immediately and provided photos, but after weeks of follow-up, they responded saying they would not take responsibility for any of the damages. This was supposed to be white glove service, and it absolutely was not. We even paid the delivery team out of pocket to carry mattresses upstairs. We ended up paying $300 for professional painters to repair the damage ourselves. We chose them because they are part of Nationwide Marketing Group, as we are, hoping to support a fellow independent retailer. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and customer service has been extremely disappointing. I do not recommend them.

    As a follow up to my recent review. City Furniture reached out and offered us 30% off our next purchase! Why would we patronize this horrible establishment? We bought a couch for $5K and in two years our white leather looks black! They stated it was our body chemicals. I asked what lab tested this (off course they never took a sample or even tried to clean it). Then they changed their tune to "it is overuse wear and tear". My wife and I are in our 60's! There is no over-use. They are a horrible company that doesn't stand behind their warranties. BTW we bought the extended warranty! What a waste of money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Read the reviews in AI and Consumer Reports. They have an over all horrible rating!

    Checked out the new City Furniture location in Clearwater this weekend. They had their Grand Opening and Giveaways and drinks and snacks etc. We only had time to visit the first floor which was nice and set up very organized. They have diff themes of each set up of areas. Our fave was probably the Glam area. We liked a comfy coach but the colors were only beige and gray black. They don't have much color selection, but in one other area I did see a dark blue and some velvet. The service was nice. Everyone was friendly and they were walking around with I pads. They didn't seem too salesy or pushy either and were very welcoming of our furbaby who has to also test the coach too. Prices, I did see some sales. And of course the one I wanted was almost $2K. We will come back another time and check out the selection on the second floor but it's nice to get an idea of what's out there. There's also a cafe with wine, beer, coffee, smoothies, & snack if you are really wanting to hang out for a bit while you decide on your home furnishings. They have a menu as well near that area.

    This is based off an order I did over the phone with Richard. I called on a Tuesday and he confirmed a Thursday delivery date. When I called him at 5pm on Thursday he just woke up and was not in the store so I called the store. An associate said the order would arrive next Thursday. I called the City in Plant City due to how unreliable this location was and he said no one scheduled anything. This is my first time doing business with City. With the price tag of the pieces we purchased, I am genuinely concerned about the level of organization, communication, and professionalism lack thereof is conducted here. Not sure if the associates in Clearwater are a true representation of this furniture store. I am told the furniture should arrive at a later date, but given this track record, I am not holding my breath. Transparency and honesty are key in a good business relationship.

    New cover and rest of sectional

    I bought a sectional from City Furniture a little over a year ago. Within two months, the seam on the chaise pulled apart. I reported it and waited three months for a replacement cover. Once installed, the fabric doesn't match the rest of the couch due to normal wear. Even worse, the technician admitted it's a known defect with this sofa style and said other customers have received full replacements--but I was offered just a $200 credit. Completely unacceptable. I now have a patched-up, mismatched sectional due to a defect that City Furniture has known about. Do better. I want the entire cover replaced or a matching new sectional.

Although my new GE refrigerator ran perfectly from the the very start, Famous Tate assured me if there had been a problem, Famous Tate would step in to help get it resolved with the manufacturer.     My new dishwasher arrived in store shortly after I paid over the phone to guarantee that I'd get…read moreone before they were quickly sold. Patrick arranged for installation with a contractor Tate's uses and everything went well. The contractor called to make the installation appointment and showed up on time. The installers were obviously professional and knowledgeable and installed my new dishwasher in just under 1/2 hr. That included installing an electric socket ($85 surcharge that I agreed to when making the appointment), testing, and cleanup.

So, it's been over a month since I made my mattress purchase. Christine was not the one who sold me the mattress, but she deserves the commission more than the person who sold it to me, who has since been dismissed from the company. Christine is very knowledgeable about mattresses without question. But this is more about her empathy, understanding, patience and willingness to make the customer happy. So I purchased the mattress a little over a month ago. A good mattress is no longer cheap so I wanted to be absolutely sure about my purchases. But in my case, I may have taken it a little too far. Since receipt of my mattress, I have probably been back to the store at least a dozen times trying other mattresses well after mine had already been delivered and slept on. Each time Christine put up with my indecisiveness even allowing me more time to make a decision and never appeared bothered about it. Each time trying to explain the differences of the mattresses and helping me make an informed decision. So after all the back and forth, I decided yesterday to exchange my mattress for another brand. Today I decided to stop by the store to try the other mattress one more time and just about that time she called me to arrange delivery of the alternate choice. Well, I thought she would be upset with me but once again she talked it through with me and I ended up keeping the original mattress. I know if the shoe was on the other I would have been annoyed, but not Christine. So long and short of this story is that Christine is an amazing salesperson and after all my visitations I can even say a good friend. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CHRISTINE!
