What an incredible store! From the moment I entered John Benthal's Mission Motif five years ago to buy a design magazine until now, I continue to be inspired by the owner's knowledge and eye for home design detail. John and his store have helped me transform my 1920's urban rental cottage into a period showcase home I am now proud to live in and entertain in. While I was at first intimidated by my limited knowledge of the Arts and Crafts movement in America, John and his team patiently worked with me on learning about the style through books and magazines and even personal visits to my home to make furniture, lighting, rugs, and color/finish suggestions. They continue to showcase the best product lines in their store and on their website, and I look forward to seeing the great displays and merchandizing in the store. I swear it is changed around and different every time I go there! The heirloom quality handmade furniture, lighting and rugs are absolutely beautiful, and the attention and advice they give to their customers is the absolute best I've ever seen from any retailer. They have incredible pictures, pottery, and artwork by some of the top Roycroft artisans and craftsmen in the Arts & Crafts/Mission Style arena. Even their accessories are wonderful! What a delightful experience! When we started to revamp our living room we did all the easy stuff first. New sofa, reupholstered chairs--but something was missing. Coffee tables are a dime a dozen, and yet we couldn't find anything we liked. Until, that is, we stumbled across Mission Motif online. We saw something we loved but you had to call for a price. That sounded scary until I talked to Terry. The price was great for a piece of solid wood fine furniture. We chose quartersawn white oak, but they've got other choices in wood, and many stains. Right on time, after waiting four weeks, we got word that our coffee table was on the way. We were stunned at the beauty and quality of the work. We looked it over from top to bottom and it is flawless. The documentation tells the story of the Amish artisans who made the piece. Every step of the process was a great experience, from the initial phone call to the road updates from the man delivering the piece. Now, if they only made a matching console table! Oh, they do! I won't hesitate to buy quality, handcrafted furniture from Mission Motif. In fact, they're the first place I will look. Hats off, Mission Motif! I recommend them without hesitation. read more

We live in the SF Bay Area, but have found that, when we're buying things for our Craftsman-style home, we need to cast a broad net to find what we want/need. We needed a small-diameter round craftsman-style rug, and we were able to get it through Mission Motif. When I placed the order online, I got back an immediate message explaining that because the rug size we wanted was a custom order, it would take up to 3 months to fulfill, and did I want to go ahead with the order. I did understand it was custom, so I was not surprised to hear about the lead-time, but I was pleased that they took the time to send a personal email to let me know and be sure I would be OK with that before they placed the order. As it turns out, it took 2 weeks less than they'd said it would take, and I was happily surprised to get an email saying my rug was shipping early! The rug arrived in great shape and was just what we needed! If you're buying from Mission Motif over the internet, rest assured that you'll get personal service and prompt attention, just as if you were in a local store. I discovered Mission Motif a few months ago as I was planning a move to a new home. I needed a few accent pieces to compliment my mostly Stickley furniture collection. What a nice surprise. Mission Motif has a large and wonderful selection of Craftsman and Mission Style furniture and accents to complete my new home. I have purchased 3 items thus far and they've all exceeded my expectations in terms of workmanship and sheer beauty. This is all hand-crafted work of the highest quality. I consider the product catalog to be reasonably priced and a good value considering the quality of the items. I've also been very impressed with their customer service, very interactive and responsive. These guys are happy to answer any pre-sales question you might have - and appear to actually enjoy talking to you. I have a new weekend condo in western NC and have decorated it in mission arts and crafts style. I live in Atlanta during the week and, quite by accident, stumbled across the Mission Motif and payed them a visit, not expecting to be able to afford anything in the store. I had formulated a very close budget, since this is a second home. John and Terry were attentive, good-spirited, and offered me many choices within my price range. I purchased three rugs, bedroom, and dining room furniture. It was delivered this week and is beyond my expectations. All deliveries were exactly on time and the furnishings are gorgeous. Mission Motif takes care their customers My husband Mike and I love craftsman style designs. Mission Motif supplies gorgeous products, and they take care their customers. I bought 3 panels of the Dard Hunter Rose curtains a few years ago. They are hanging in our stone sun room. We love them so much, this year I decided to get 6 more for our great room. When they were delivered, it was likely my mistake that I missed 3 panels in the box and threw them away with the packaging. I was really upset with this most unfortunate event. John took care of me. He sent 3 more panels within a week. Now these 6 panels of Dard Hunter Rose curtains are enhancing our great room and blocking harsh summer light. I know I will enjoy this summer better. My new Arts and Crafts rug just arrived, and I love it! My experience purchasing this rug was excellent. Mission Motif designer Terry O'Brien was extremely helpful to me. It is not always easy to know what something actually looks like when you are purchasing it online. Based on pictures of my furniture that I sent him, Terry was able to advise me as to whether the rug would work in my house. He also was able to confirm that the colors of the actual rug were very close to the colors in the online photo. He was very knowledgeable and professional. To some extent, buying online is always a "leap of faith", but I would recommend making that leap with Mission Motif! read more

I just received my Craftsman dining table and chairs.......it is beautiful. I had been looking for two years and so glad I went with Mission Motif. My husband and I had a chance to visit the store first and seeing the beauty and quality of the furniture on the floor sold us. Terry was fantastic to work with and the process was so easy. Delivery is white glove and our new set was in place quickly and without incident. I highly recommend Mission Motif if you want beautiful high quality mission furniture. Very nice place to acquire quality mission furniture, made in America. (much of Stickley furniture is made in Vietnam). The selection of everything mission is amazing. We had pruchased authenic mission fabric to recover dining chairs previously and returned to replace our living and dining room furniture. Terry was very helpful in working to our budget. I was very happy to have discovered Mission Motif in Atlanta. John and Terry answered all my questions quickly and factually and they helped me find an area rug that was superior to any I had previously found online for the price! Very attractive store. On my first visit I got information from them about a local Craftsman stained glass artist. She turned out to be great and created three custom windows for my home office renovation. Then I returned for office furniture and John and Terry helped me select the perfect desk and chair. While using Google to find wall hangings of this style we found a Yoshiko Yamamoto print that we were interested in and we were delighted that we could look at examples at the Mission Motif store.
