Every once in a while you come across a local store that hits all the right notes: professionalism, product selection and flexibility. Intaglia is just such a store. We bought a couch and a dresser here, which were both floor models and on sale. The store's sales associate, JaJuana, was a no-pressure helper as we cased the joint for specific things. Other places like The Dump (which is, in fact, a dump), By Design and other antique stores were either too expensive or not helpful or just had the wrong selection. Too, Intaglia has been working with us greatly on delivery of both items, one of which I needed to have them hold in order to make room in the living room. They worked with us and then some. As I put my tape measure in my left hand and camera phone on my right (oh, and a lil hair toss like the Charlie Angel's), I was off on my mission to find the coffee table that would truly compliment the 4 chairs I purchased at West Elm for the office. I took a look at my options...West Elm...already done...IKEA...too cheap looking...Crate and Barrel...again, too commercial. Eureka...I have got it! Intaglia...yes, Intaglia! I know a broad and a couple of fellas that work there, you see...I'm sure they can help me out! I have a good feeling about this! I love Intaglia! I have purchased a lot of furniture from here. The style totally fits mine and the prices are very reasonable. Sometimes you can find really good sales. For instance, David and I were looking for a dining room table. Upon entering, we saw this beautiful dark wood modern like dining table and saw a sign for $150.00. We looked at it in disbelief and when we asked the associate, he said yep...that's the right price! Of course, I spread myself on the table and flashed a smile at anyone that came through the door saying...yeah, this is my table...jealous!? Back to the mission...I walked in those doors and scanned the area. A-ha! I found it...a glass table with a base that looked like a drum set. The furniture and decor in this shop is all beautifully selected and well staged. I purchased a couch here for around $1600. It was a floor sample so I received a slight markdown. I also picked up a nesting glass coffee table for around $500. These prices seemed very reasonable to the comparatives that I considered at other stores. Intaglia does not deliver, but did suggest a moving company to deliver the pieces to my home for $200. After about a month the coffee table had a huge crack in it from a candle. My fault, I know, I just assumed the glass was tempered. Due to the danger of broken glass, I had to take the loss and discard it. After a few more months my couch began to miss a few buttons and had lost it's shape. I figured spending more money, I would get better quality. I was wrong. I have had better luck with flat packed Swedish furniture. I would not be in a rush to buy more furniture from Intaglia. However, I would still consider using them for decor, such as mirrors, tchotchkes, pillows, etc. because the selection is nice. read more

My hubby and I were in the market for a new sectional sofa for our house. I had been searching on-line so I had a couple of brands (Younger, Gus, Alcoa) I wanted to check out in person. We spent a day in the furniture district in ATL the previous weekend and didn't find anything that convinced us we should purchase it either because it wasn't exactly what we wanted or it was too expensive. Then, my hubby suggested we stop by Intaglia, because he had purchased a piece of art from there before and recalled seeing a good selection of couches. So we went to check out what they had to offer. Sure enough they had some Younger furniture! I heart the Younger company because it is beautifully handcrafted in the USA and reasonably priced. Not only did they have Younger furniture, but they had a couple of pieces which were floor samples that we liked and were on sale. There was one sectional which was a fabric and design (James sectional) I knew was more expensive than what I was looking for, but it was so gorgeous!!! Luckily, the hubby loved it too! We sat on it for a while and talked with the helpful sales associate. She was not pressuring us at all, but informed us that this was a steal of a combination. We discussed delivery options and then, we purchased it! I am sitting on it right now while I right this review. The only negative was that the delivery people dropped off the couches without asking if we wanted it put together, so we had to attach the sectional on our own. Luckily the people at Intaglia talked my hubby through it and we go them attached without a hitch. Now we will search for end tables, media stand and other decor for our room. I like the furniture there. It's clean line, contemporary and warm. The prices are reasonable, although they don't have a large stock of furniture. The store isn't a large warehouse, it's just a small store inside of an outside shopping center. The shopping center has another furniture store near by, Gado Gado. Do not buy anything from Intaglia, ever. We purchased a sofa, chair and bed from the store in Decatur in March 2007. We spent close to $2,000 and were very pleased with the sales associate and the items we selected. The bed came home with us that night while the other two pieces had to be ordered as they needed to be upholstered with our fabric selections. Six weeks later the furniture was delivered to our home on a Wednesday. This was the first surprise. The sales associate told us the delivery charge would be $50. It was $107. Our next surprise occurred when the chair was brought into the house. While the fabric was correct and the style was right, the upholstery was horrid. It was loose, wrinkled, the tucks at the top were so loose I could fit four fingers into it, there were puckers everywhere, and finally the cording/piping that lines the edges was irregular - loose here, too tight there such that it noticeably dipped into the outside arm of the chair. I immediately took some pictures with my cell phone and drove up to the store to express my displeasure. The young man was quite nice, agreed that the upholstery was bad/unacceptable and assured me that he would speak with the manager and have her get back with me. I never received a call from her. On Sunday, my wife and I returned to the Decatur store and again the young man was quite nice. He was also shocked that the manager had not called us. He assured us that the chair would be replaced and that the appropriate paperwork had been submitted. Then the calls began. Mysteriously we received a call from a furniture repair company that wanted to make an appointment to come over and see what the problem was and to determine if they would repair the chair. I called the store again. No answer, so I left a message stating that I did not want a repair, I wanted a new chair. This time another young lady left a message asking to see the pictures. Could I email them to her? Now, I am not computer literate. It took me three weeks to figure how to work the dang picture part of the phone and I have no idea how to download them. So, I returned to the store and with the help of the first young man - still very nice - sent the photos to his phone so that he could share them with whomever and move the process along. The very next day, the second lady called again. Second Lady: I need the pictures. Me: I gave them to your co-worker. SL: I don't have them so you need to send them to me so that I can send them to the rep so that he can get the repair folks out there to determine if they will repair the chair. Me: Your co-worker has them in digital format on his cell phone. SL: But I need them so that I can determine what we need to do next. Me: Your co-worker has them in digital format on his cell phone. Can you please contact him and get them? I don't know how to send them to you. SL: No, you need to send me the photos. You need to email them to me so that I can send them to the rep so that he can arrange to have the damage to your chair repaired. Me: Your co-worker had the photos, speak with him. I do not want my chair repaired. You cannot fix the upholstery without re-doing the entire job. I want it replaced. Call me back when you know when my new chair will be delivered at your expense. Then I hung up on her. Sure I ended up being a little snarky but: her story changed several times and she never spoke to her co-worker. The next day we got another call from the repair place asking us to set up an appointment to have someone come by and look at the chair. So, we head to the store one more time. The SL is there this time. I am not happy. My wife does the talking. Same run-around. Same ignorance regarding upholstery. Still hasn't spoken with her co-worker. Doesn't really give a damn. Finally, after pressing my wife gets the phone number of the GM and we leave. My wife spoke with the GM today. He doesn't care about this or how we were treated. His suggestion was to bring the chair back and get a refund. That's where we're headed once my wife gets home from the office. Never buy anything from these people. They don't give a damn about customers once they have their money. read more

Amazing experience. I can't recommend this store and the people enough. JoJuana is phenomenal is her design (both layout and esthetic) and is absolutely the most delightful person to work with. I needed furniture for a very awkward size room and the team took their time helping me figure out how to maximize the space. It turned out wonderful. The price point at Intaglia is also perfect. Do yourself a favor and drop by the store. They have a wonderful selection of furniture and one of the few places where you can buy IN THE STORE and not have to wait 6-8 weeks. What an amazing experience! I was looking for a sofa but didn't know which would work best for me. They patiently explained the different options, styles, colors, and fabrics. I especially liked that they didn't push me to make a decision. They also spent a great deal of time examining the dimensions and layout of my room to determine which sofas would fit my living room but at the same time wouldn't overwhelm it. We've been looking for a sectional for months. We've been to every store and every website and could not find the right one. My husband and I have different tastes and just couldn't agree on anything. On a whim - with no expectations - we went to Intaglia. We weren't sure that they would have the inventory because Ansley shops typically aren't that large. We were surprised when we walked in a few weeks ago and we were met with not just a beautiful store, unique inventory and great atmosphere- but the most lovely salesperson- Kassie. Kassie understood pretty quickly what we were looking for, even though we weren't sure ourselves. She told us that a sectional was coming in - and we could test it out when it got there. She called 2 days later to let us know that it was in the store. When we finally got back to the store - it was still there. Kassie totally remembered everything about our space and we purchased the perfect sectional! We can't wait for it to come in! I am also looking forward to figuring out what else we can buy there! I am such a big fan of Intaglia. I have spent a lot of time looking around at furniture in the past few weeks...which is a lot for me because home design is not my thing. The difference in Intaglia and other furniture places I have visted is Intaglia doesn't just sell you a sofa or a chair...they help you think about the whole room. They have great design sense and will share that with you. I worked with Bobby and my mother and I (with very different personalities) both wanted to take him home with us. He was super helpful, but not pushy. He was very easy to be with, yet you could tell he knows his stuff. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I also felt great about giving business to my locally owned neighborhood store. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Intaglia. I walked in and a gentleman said hello from behind a counter. However, the two sales associates or designers or whoever they were at the store did not come up to me once to help at all! It was a disappointing experience as I had gone in to the store with the intention to buy a sofa today! I was in the market for a specific mirror I saw at Intaglia months ago and upset I didn't get to purchase it before it sold, needless to say I went back to inquire about it and ran into a gentleman who was a great help.
