Our son took his first mini ninja class there this week and he loved it. It is all he has talked about, and we can't wait to bring him back.

Orange theory helped me with my posture, work out routine and created more awareness about my body. Flexible class options. This is studio is wonderful and welcoming everyday of the week except for Friday when Shay teaches…read more I've been an OT member for 3 + years at multiple different studios. It's been amazing experience until I attended Shay's Tread 50 on Friday. This is not a an OT class this is a bro gym with yelling and what Shay calls his "OG" members. The music is beyond loud with heavy bass and filled with curse words, sex, and songs demeaning women. There is no variety. The tread 50 is the only OT class I have not attended. I had no way of knowing the treads get cards (which weren't set up or given out). Shay never said anything. The screens were off so I couldn't even see what block it is. After about 15- 20 minutes of no instruction, I went to ask the front desk about instructions and asked if the music could change to something not objectifying women. I also made the comment I could have worked at home for free with the same instructions. I was given a card and the desk agent spoke to Shay. Another 10 minutes went by, and I went to ask the front desk if there could be some variety. I've attended a lot of OT, and there typically is some variety. Shay then proceeding to come up to me, while I was working out to tell me off for coming to his class. He made a big deal of telling me Friday nights were his and he runs it differently from every other OT coach and location. He told me off for not asking him about the tread card or instructions. Basically, making it seem like it was my fault for not knowing the rules of "his" gym. He made it out to be my fault for not having been to a Tread 50 or one of his classes before. When I told him I hadn't been to a tread 50, he rolled his eyes. He also chewed me out for talking to the desk agent instead of him (he was preoccupied broing out with the lifters) When I called him out on he put his hand on my elliptical, stopping it, and accused me of using "client privilege" and told me he'll be taking to management about this. He went up in emotion and I felt like he was trying to intimidating me. Shay made it very clear this is his gym on Fridays he runs it his way. I pay for a membership to Orange Theory not Shay's gym. I recommend any other studio or just going to Barre

Local Business, No Tricks, Nice Facilities…read more I'd been hoping for a long time that a gym would go in within walking distance of my work. I'd tried 24hr Fitness on TV Highway, but it took too long to drive there and back and also get in a workout and look presentable for work. Finally, we have a gym in downtown Hillsboro! The owners, Carla and George are very kind, encouraging, and personable. I love doing business with a "mom and pop" over a corporate facility. Additionally, their rates are very reasonable and you don't have to sign your life away. I pay month to month, and can stop at any time with 1 month notice. The space is roomy enough, the equipment is varied and solid, and they keep it ship-shape. The women's locker room has showers, lockers, and some additional appreciated items such as body soap and a hair drier. They also have a group room and classes, but I haven't tried that yet. I don't need a gym to be big and fancy, so this works perfectly for me. The only thing I miss is a pool/spa, but since all other fitness needs are met, it's a small compromise. If you are interested in joining a gym in the downtown Hillsboro area, I encourage you to pop in and take a tour. While it's great that it's not yet crowded, it would also be nice to see them build this business and thrive in the downtown, Washington County campus area. Go for it!

I explained how we heard about his gym and we were interested in trying a free 7 day trial. He quickly and directly said "okay? Why martial arts?". I explained my interest for my kids as a quick impromptu and he said nothing as if he was unimpressed by my answer. He continued by asking my kids questions about their names and ages. One of my kids was very hesitant to try martial arts but agreed to watch for the day. Mark rudely mocked my son when he said his age because he had his hands inside his waist band and said "you're 9? Well 9 year olds don't have their hands in their pants. I wouldn't touch your hands because you've been touching your butt crack"...My son looked at me in surprise and not sure how to respond; I rubbed his back. He asked my son what his name was and my son started to walk behind me because he was uncomfortable from being talked to like that. Mark interrupted and said "9 year old boys don't hide behind their mom's" in a condescending tone. I didn't know what to say....Has Mark never met a shy kid before? Wtf! How does this man work with kids?? My special needs son was disregarded and looked over. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. THIS is bully behavior!! Mark pointed us to the chairs and said "well you can watch and talk to the parents". There was no welcome or exchange of how to reach him if we decided to sign up; no brochure or list of packages. We all sat down in shock. My first thought was what a horrible representation of law enforcement and TNT leadership he was. I was also taken back by his tactical gear on full display...Why? No humility. Do you need to prove you were in law enforcement? I don't know him personally however within this one interaction with this man, I got the sense he feels he has something to prove, he's aggressive, condescending, inconsiderate, impatient, and does not represent integrity, respect, honor, self discipline, or compassion..He definitely is not self aware if he's speaking to young kids like this. I would not trust this male figure with my kids emotionally, Physically, Or spiritually, nor would I want my boys to emulate him. I feel for the families who believe this is a respectful way to be treated by anyone in law enforcement. This man is not a good person to support young kids in finding self confidence, self esteem, independence, etc. I walked out before the lesson was over and will not be returning. Thank goodness we didn't spend a dime there.

After dealing with the school principal brushing off the bullying because "your son has a speech issue and has a funny speech pattern when he talks, so kids his age are going to make fun of him" We signed him up to learn self defense and how to be proactive in stopping his bullies. The program here has been phenomenal! My son has learned excellent coping mechanisms to stop his bullies. He has learned to work through his difficulties in learning martial arts and the instructors and owner have always been kind and supportive of my sons special needs and have worked with him to help him further his level of functionality.
