one of my favorite bouldering gyms. the staff here are great. the location is huge with tons of variety. setting is great, varying levels of difficulty. the parking lot could use some work especially when its raining out but big lot. loved the gym and yoga areas and lots of kid friendly options also.

Higher climbing wall the kids mastered

Well this was well worth the $26 for two kids for the climbing. Our kids climbed until exhaustion and got a good workout in. This is a super healthy and fun activity for kids. It was our first time here and from the website it seemed pricey but the kids can do any of the climbing walls they feel comfortable with. So if they can only do (or prefer to only do,) the kids area they can spend hours there climbing and sliding. Or if they get confident they can move on over to the more advanced area. I will say we only saw the staff at check in/payment and for a woman staffer to come over and tell kids not to ride double or triple down the slides. At one point my daughter, who is 6, was watching a bigger kid (he was maybe 9 or 10,) on the climbing wall just outside the kids area and we were wondering what the different letters and numbers meant. An older climber, who called himself an old man (though he was maybe in his early 40's if that,) let us know the lower numbers were easier climbs, also for the lower letters (A being the lowest) they are easier climbs. That helped us to navigate when we moved over to try the harder climbs. If you're looking for assistance or instruction, you'll definitely need to take classes but if you have kids who want to climb and are confident with heights just take them! It was a great time!

I took bouldering classes in college but have been out of practice and was looking to get back into it again and was happy I found The Circuit, a bouldering-only gym (so no rock climbing/harnesses here). Fairly simple check-in process, name for returners and a mandatory signed waiver for new visitors. A day pass is $17 ($15 if you're a student) while shoe rentals are $4. You can definitely wear your own shoes if you want, though rental shoe definitely helps. Gym is quite spacious, with lots of cubbies along the wall to store your personal belongings. There are 2 gender neutral shower rooms and regular men and women restrooms in the back. Highly recommend checking their website and instagram for special events, schedules, and deals such as free open gym nights for college and high school students and etc. Recently they've been doing some cool Christmas giveaways like free day/punch passes, 10% off gym gear/apparel. They also have $5 Fridays once a month and Beginner Nights (first timers only) every Wednesday after 4pm, with 50% off your day pass. Very chill and friendly staff. I've been coming in to redeem their free Christmas day/punch passes and realized with my most recent visit that none of them were saved onto my account, and the staff was very quick to fix the problem for me. Be mindful that you are sharing the space with children since they do host birthday parties and climbing camps at times. They do have a children's climbing area in the back with a slide, but otherwise, it's pretty much a free for all. You don't need to be an avid boulderer to come, I've taken a couple of friends here (of all skill levels) and they've been loving it. We recently learned that they also host fitness and yoga classes, which comes free with your day pass. Will definitely come back to try out those classes next time I visit!

Stopped by the first time with family on Monday, Memorial Day, and glad to see that they were opened. There were quite a number of people and even those doing yoga. Had to sign waiver and input some information electronically so that was a quick process. We're able to climb wearing socks, our own shoes, or their climbing shoes (for rent). Area towards the back left are suitable for younger children, teens and beginners. There are even slides to get down from the top. We started off here and had a great time warming up. As we moved into the larger arena, there are walls with various difficulty. Just gaze at the size of boulders and degree for your needs. We were glad to find some challenging enough but still manageable for our group. Loved that everyone was respectful of each other's space since it's a bouldering gym and people can fall at any time. Fairly good price even if we only stayed for about an hour, we sure had a lot of fun!

even padded flooring, well maintained facility, good routesetting

Great routesetting | Great facility $ My husband and I have traveled to a lot of places and climbed at several indoor climbing gyms. We've climbed at gyms in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Montana, and even in Canada. Most of the time, no other gym can really compare to our home gym in Santa Rosa, but this time we enjoyed climbing at this gym. Great vibe at this gym. Front desk is friendly and checked us in quickly. Facility is all bouldering and in my honest opinion, the perfect size. It's not too huge like a Touchstone or Planet Granite chain gym --which can be kind of obnoxious-- and it's not too small where wherever you stand you're in a fall zone. The flooring is nicely taped up and evenly padded, not bulging and lumpy like other places. Walls are new looking and maintained. LOTS of space and variety of challenging climbs. Slack line area. Small weight training area next to slack line area. For the most part there's a nice air flow going. Bathrooms and changing/shower rooms are nice. Lots of cubby holes to put your stuff in. Good-sized parking lot as well. REMEMBER: Climbing rating system is subjective. We're used to our home gym's rating, so every gym we visit seems to be a little soft for us. And there's nothing wrong with that, really! Routes are well thought out here. There's a really good flow to them, so you don't feel any awkward or forced movements. That can be really confusing especially to the beginning climbers who are learning how to move on the wall and read routes. So, THANK YOU, guys! In some areas, you're able to top out and walk down the stairs. Neat! One last thing I need to comment on is the community. I didn't feel like I was a number at this place, like how I usually feel at a Touchstone or Planet Granite gym. Not everyone will immediately shout some supportive words when you're trying hard on a route, but people are friendly and you can easily befriend people here. There's a bunch of young people, lots of beginners, and lots of families having fun. I noticed that there was a designated area for children to climb at, which is awesome because the routes are specifically for them. One day we hope to move up to Oregon (soon) and become members here. Highly recommend this gym.

I went to your gym today. I am SO proud and thankful that every measure has been taken for our safety (we are talking about people's lives)! This is so important. I'm so grateful for taking the chance and coming in. I couldn't be happier and can't wait to return. Andrew was working and did amazing at explaining rules, holding people accountable, and continuously cleaning! I love our community ‍

I have only been to one other climbing gym so far and as much as I loved that place I think I like this one a bit more. The other gym I have been too was a full climbing gym with bouldering and large climbing walls, and honestly at this point I am more interested in bouldering than I am in full climbing and harnesses and what not. This place is 100% a bouldering gym. They have so many walls to climb and varying levels of difficulty. The day pass and shoe rental came to $20 and if I lived closer I would definitely get a membership. In addition to the bouldering options they have 3 slack line setups and a lifting area, plus all kinds of grip strength training areas. This place was amazing and we all had a ton of fun!! Will definitely visit again in the future and plan on bringing my wife at some point.

This is a pretty nice place but not mind blowing. The staff was really nice. I took a five year old to check out their kid area. It was alright. Just bouldering, no belays at this gym. They have slides for the kids to come down, which is great. And a slackline for them. There were a couple a birthday parties going when we happened to stop in so it was a mad house. I would recommend calling first. Don't go if there are parties happening. So many kids running around it of control is a bad idea, unsafe and not so fun. Over priced for how short our mad house stay was. Might be back, probably not though.

    James G.

Edit: I've been bouldering around a year and a half now. Here's a comprehensive review: Positives: 1) The kids area is unmatched, it's really superb. This is the gym to go to if you have kids. Or if you want to try climbing but you're terrified, you can start in the kids area. 2) The selection of bouldering walls is fantastic. It's all bouldering, so if you come alone, you can climb the whole gym. 3) The setting is fun and always refreshed every week. 4) Big parking lot. Negatives: 1) The mats are in poor shape. They are constantly being repaired, but it seems like a never-ending process because the initial design is flawed. Not as cushioned as other gyms, and you can trip over the seams or bunched up spot. 2) The staff needs to be trained better in greeting and handling customers. 3) The workout-out area should have at least two ellipticals and two exercise bikes, a rower, treadmill, etc. If you want to warm up on the elliptical and someone is on it, you're out of luck. Also, if you want to only buy one gym membership, the fitness area and class options are inadequate. 4) The campus training is only the hardest, traditional option. Other gyms have slightly easier campus training options (bars, slopers), which are good if you are say at V5 but can't handle moving up the rungs on the ladder. Initial: Amazing facilities. I have gone a few times for me (I mostly run, so climbing is a nice change of pace). But for children it's amazing. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I have been to the one in North Portland (very nice) and Tigard (amazing). My 3.5 year-old-twins will spend 3 hours here without even noticing.

Large rock climbing gym with plenty of walls for adults and children. They have weights, tight rope walking, slides and more too.
    Aaron M.

Reasonable prices and passes for individuals and families. Lots of area to climb including a fun kids area with slides. They have balance ropes, rings and other apparatuses and weights too. Friendly staff tops it off. It's a great place.

    Happy boys!

After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

"A place where everybody knows your name... and you're always glad you came." [1]…read more My review is based on my membership of one year where I've consistently visited 4x/week. Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. [1] I am currently re-watching this classic sitcom and while not aging well in the post Me Too era, still good for a lot of laughs.

Amazing new gym in Tigard…read more I recently moved to Oregon and had been working out at 24 Fitness. it seems all of them in the area are absolutely disgusting. I finally had enough, and went on a search for a new facility. I had worked out at Golds years ago and liked them, so I googled and found this place. Wow, what a great facility! They have every machine you could want, and more. The place is spotless, smells good and isn't overly crowded. It's also a new concept Gold's Gym. So it seems very modern and up to date. The staff are really friendly and helpful. And the members seems to respect the quality and cleanliness of the gym. Parking is also easy and plentiful. And its in a nice new business park. They rip you off on cancellation and don't warn you about it. The sales rep literally told me none of the things that would happen during cancellation despite me asking. And its earned them a 1 star review That and the fact that I was told to put my shoes on during a squat lift for "safety". Meanwhile people on the legpress didn't have shoes on and had 800+ pounds on it What else earned golds a 1 star review? Well the cleaning team that we are undoubtedly paying for is forced to slave away multiple hours EVERY DAY - deep cleaning the equipment, vacuuming the floors ( daily ). I can understand cleaning the lockers but not doing a deep clean of the entire gym. And i'm sure we are paying for that. These cleaners look so tired and over worked This gym lacks a t bar row machine, cable attachments, it only has 3 cable machines ( or two depending on how you look at it ). The machines are old and worn out. Some of them are way too easy or assist you way too much. Good luck doing back day here without free weights. The machines for back day are awful. No landmines. Or special barbells. only one cambarid bar for bicep curls. Constantly in use. Very crowded gym. There is a plumbing issue ( a sink constantly leaking ) which is an easy fix but they've put it off for 8+ months. The showers are constantly out of order needing maintenance. The lockers are broken into constantly so good luck there. The locker doors are constantly broken. Soaps and bathrooms are fine. Sauna is fine. Dumbbells are OK and weights are OK. Some leg machines are good. I really appreciated their calf press, sissy squat machine, and nordic curl machine. But the gym is lacking good arm machines, chest machines, shoulder machines, back, bicep, forearm. Etc., When cancelling, I was forced to pay for AN EXTRA month that i will not use. Even though I cancelled within the window for my current month Cardio equipment is OK 8/10 my biggest issue with this gym is the cost - its $60 / month and i feel like the only benefit to me was its close to my place and you get to work out with experienced lifters but it felt like a bunch of experienced lifters that were putting up with bad equipment. But other than that its way over priced for all these issues - i found a better gym on the east side of portland which had nicer locker rooms, bigger locker rooms, a pool, racketball, basketball, cycling rooms, more cardio equipment with a view, more cable machines, more attachments for the cables and more variety, bigger locker rooms and more bathrooms, a towel service, two floors, two yoga rooms and a posing room, and a ton of machines... in fact, it had a tbar row which golds didn't have, better rowing machines and better chest and back equipment. and this gym cost me less than $60 / month with no contract, no cancellation fee, no enhancement fee. no hidden fees, the music isn't too loud. huge upgrade. i'm a former professional bodybuilder and i would never go to golds gym again

But seriously, this gym is so much cleaner, including the pool, showers and locker rooms. It's a much newer physicality and in a building they built, so it should be better. Came here when The Pearl pool was closed for repairs and I was really impressed. Loved the pool! It seems to be 25 meters whereas The Pearl is 25 yards, and it makes a difference. Lots of natural light coming in from the huge windows, which I love when I'm swimming. And it's not as crowded. I had the lane to myself for an hour while others came, swam, and left, sharing the other lanes. My only complain is the steps going into the pool are quite high. I'm currently using a cane as I'm dealing with hip issues, and it was challenging for me to take that first step in, and then to take that last step out. The other locations have half steps leading into the pool making it easier, and safer, for those who are handicapped or dealing with injuries to access the pool. The locker room is much larger, has several areas where you can sit on a bench and be out of the way So everyone is. It in top of each other. The showers were so much cleaner! And there is plenty of room on the counter for your stuff while you dry your hair and get ready afterwards. It took me about 20 minutes to get there, with no traffic, so it won't be my everyday gym since The Pearl is just 10 minutes away. But I'll definitely use this pool on days I have appointments out in Tualatin, which is often, or when I have extra time and want to enjoy a better swim.
