The Muffler Place is now, and has been since spring of 2023, under new ownership. Under the old owner, I brought several cars to have exhaust work done & never had a complaint. I brought one car to these ' new owners" and that will be my last. $1000 later and the car still kicks a code for Catalytic converter. I've brought it back 2x and left it with him to try to figure it out, which he can't!! I don't think he even rechecked it. Never again!! read more

Made an appointment a week in advanced drove 50 miles to wilmington waited for my appointment I arrived and was told they couldn't do my exhaust because new hanover county brought a vehicle in and it takes priority. They had my phone number and could have saved my a 100 mile drive round trip. read more

Went in to have exhaust leak fixed on my SUV. Was told was also leaking on other side that I was unaware of, I knew it was rusted up some because it is an older vehicle. Was told maybe a couple hrs. work at $125 hr which was ok. But was told took 3 hrs because they were rusty, only replaced one bolt and the 2 donut gaskets. Which I thought way to much time/money because they cut off exhaust pipe for clearance to get to everything clearly. When I asked about it, he told me, do you know how long it takes to heat up a bolt? Which I do because I have an automotive degree, which he was unaware but kinda of acted like I was dumb or something, I did not do the job myself because I do not have a lift, which makes it much easier to get to. Just annoyed that it cost so much for what was done. Tech did do a good job of fixing the issue. read more

My 2004 Dodge Stratus exhaust started scraping the ground. As we drove around more it got worse. Went to my usual guy , they didn't do exhaust work recommended " The Muffler Place". Dropped it off at 8:15 called me at 10:00 told me it was pretty rough under there. No surprise to me it was original. Gave me two prices one with new catalytic converter and one without if he could reuse the converter. (That there told me he was an honest guy) Car was ready mid afternoon. Fair Honest Pricing ready when promised. Would recommend over the big chain exhaust centers anyday. TY read more

The owner of Greenfield Alignment sent us here to get our exhaust system fixed on an 88 Jeep. Holes in pipes and maybe the manifold, but I couldn't tell. Yet another "have a look, and hope for the best" situation. Spoke with the owner, who was nice as could be. They only have two bays so I thought it would take a while, but no. I told him fix what needs fixing and call me. He called the next day and said he was finished. So we went down and were talking to him about the whole situation with the Jeep and he said, "By the way, your carb is really leaking gas. We tried to fix it, but only managed to slow it. There was a pool of gas on your manifold." I thought that answered some questions. We went inside and he threw a number at me that was so unbelievably terrific for all the work they did. Twice in a row - I'm on a roll. I asked him where to take it for the carb. He pointed across the way at Roy's. I looked and asked if it was open and he said sure, Roy's there. Off to Roy's - which in hindsight was another home run of a recommendation. And I NEVER would have found any of these guys on my own. People, stop taking your cars to muffler shop chains, they will RIP YOU OFF!!! Go to The Muffler Place and those guys will take great care of you!! read more

I went to the Muffler Place to ask about service for my car and the mechanic made fun of my car in front of the manager. I was speechless. Needless to say I did not seek their service. Trying to make a 40 year old feel like they were back in high school? Not a wise business model. read more
