They communicate well, and even put a pair of end links on for me that I had sitting in my backseat. I was gonna put them on myself, but while they were installing my lift, they probably figured it was a good "might as well while we're here" situation and didn't charge me extra for that. Great work, great experience, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone in town recommends them and now I see why. 2 year update: The shop still does great work with my vehicle, and is my go to. They're busy but still manage to fit you in, and their pricing is at or below what it should be for various jobs. With higher mileage vehicles, you typically expect and dread the inevitable call you get from the shop saying they found other things that need attention, but they do so with respect and honesty about the situation that the parts in question call for, and apply zero pressure. PLACES LIKE THIS GIVE AUTO REPAIR SHOPS A BAD NAME. Brought in a car for a dead battery. It was a hybrid, so I was told by Autozone to bring it here. After the $67 diagnostic fee confirming the battery I told them was dead (and Autozone confirmed dead) was confirmed dead by Mobile Tech, I was then texted a link with about 12-15 recommended services, most ranging from 70-200. "Replace cabin air filter, $70.19" Filter is $10 (my cost) and takes 5 minutes to replace (you have to unhook the glove compartment). BUT THE THING THAT PISSED ME OFF THE MOST WAS THIS: I was told the Marker Lamp bulb was out, would fail me for inspection and was $69.50 to replace. When I questioned the price, I was told they had to dissemble the front headlight to get to it. So...I told them no thank you. I went to Autozone, bought 2 bulbs for $8, watched a 90 second youtube and did it myself. There was NO DISSEMBLE whatsoever. I stuck my hand in, turned the plug counterclockwise, pulled out the the fixture, changed the bulb, and stuck it back in. So for a $4 plug that took 1 minute to change out, they were going to charge me $69.50. But most of all, they LIED about the extensive labor involved. So, the morale of the story is, be fair to your customers and stop lying and ripping them off. They have a voice on the internet, and give warnings to their friends and neighbors that may cost you business down the road. read more

Make sure they can do the job you need done before you commit!! First, the guys at the counter were friendly and helpful. I needed to get a key reprogrammed to work for my car and I just happened to have one from the same year. They told me they probably could. I had to wait over 10 days for an appointment. First estimate was $150. I was good with that, after all a new one is $350. Then after I get there the price will be $250. Still better than $350. Turns out they couldn't reprogram the key. After waiting an hour, they charged me $95 for not doing anything. $95 for nothing!! read more

I called Mobiletech today to ask if they would check out my car. The car was parked a couple months and a mouse got into it some how and it has some electrical issues I need fixed. I asked how much it would be just to diagnose it. I was told it started at 300 bucks wow. That's just to figure out what is wrong with it no repair. I understand prices have gone up on everything but after calling around the Highest quote I got was 150 to diagnose a electrical issue. I will be taking my car to someone a little more reasonable. If I didn't know any better I might have paid it and that's why I'm leaving this review check around as this place don't seem to mind charging someone double. WARNING!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! MY CAR WAS SERVICED AND LEFT WITH A BROKEN A/C!! I recently received service from MobileTech. My A/C was running a little low and needed to be recharged. I paid for the service and left thinking my AC would be working in the same or better condition. I was wrong. On the drive home, after being serviced, the A/C completely stopped working. After several calls, I finally got a hold of the owner. He REFUSED to fix the mistake and REFUSED to make good on his TERRIBLE SERVICE. I left there with my car in WORSE CONDITION. I have just returned from MobileTech after getting my wife's Mazda MPV repaired. The previous mechanic charged me a couple hundred dollars more for replacing bad ignition coils. The old mechanic replaced 1 and the problem popped back up, the MobileTech guys replaced 3 coils and got it running for less money. This is the 3rd time using the company after a being referred by a couple friends. The guys are young, honest and actually care. Not a bad combination for an auto repair shop, especially at the reasonable price they charge. As a 25 year old girl living across the country from my life-long personal mechanic (AKA, my father), I have been super apprehensive about finding someone to work on my Jeep in North Carolina and honestly, my first experience with a mechanic was not good. About a year ago, my clutch burned out and (not knowing a good mechanic yet), I opted for the local dealership. They replacement was fine, but the service was super impersonal and it cost me an arm and a leg. So this time, when I needed some work done on my suspension, I decided to look around and I'm so glad I ended up at MobileTech! These guys know their stuff, and they actually care about their customers. I told them that I wasn't sure how serious it was but I wanted it looked at because I was going on an extended road trip. They really took the inspection seriously and were focused on making sure my vehicle was safe. Even more exciting was when I got the estimate: a thousand times more affordable than the dealership. The work was solid and they made it a point to follow up on some other concerns before I hit the road because "if I was his daughter, he would want that looked at." Having been burned by salesemen, mechanics and dealerships in the past, I've grown a little wary of those who call the shots about what kind of money I need to sink into my car. How refreshing, then, to meet David at Mobile Tech. Recommended to me by a friend, this tiny garage across from Greenfield Park was a little tough to find, but definitely worth the search. Although he specializes in foreign makes, David was happy to take in my Ford when its engine was vibrating so heavily that I lived in fear that at any moment either a) my car would implode or b) the entire frame might just fall off. From the minute I called to make the appointment to the moment I drove my softly purring Focus out of Mobile Tech's parking lot, David was professional, friendly, honest and fair. He kept me apprised of the status of my car at all times, worked very quickly and was happy to hold my car for me when I was unable to pick it up for a couple of days. I'd done some research on engine mounts (as I suspected that might be the issue), so I knew what kind of cost to expect. I was pleasantly surprised, then, when David's estimate came in quite a bit below what I was ready to hear for the replacement of all three engine mounts. I've used this company for sevaral years. Several days ago, I took my car in to have them look at the front end after making an appointment. When the inspection was concluded, they charged $33. In the past, there has never been a charge for an inspection - if the car needed something they got the work. There was no warning about this charge so they have lost my business. read more

I called and was in there a few hours later, quickly looked over my vehicle and came back with what was wrong and the price to fix it. Went because my check engine/IMA light was coming on for my hybrid battery. They were upfront and honest about my options of having my battery updated, replaced, refurbished, and if I could wait a little longer before taking any action. Customer service was great and service was timely. They did a software update, but my battery light was still coming on. My battery was passing all of the tests they were conducting, so they assured me there was still some life left in it and that I did not need to replace my battery immediately. This was almost 3 months ago, and they called me last week letting me know that there was a new warranty for the battery in my car that I might be eligible for, and suggested I try to take my car to the dealership. WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO FIX MY CAR!! I could not be more satisfied with the service I received at this place. I brought it in about a month ago because my car was overheating. Due to faulty repairs done at previous places, it took them two attempts to fix everything - but man did they do a great job! They cut the price on my head gasket replacement, changed belts for free, etc. They knew that I wanted to fix my car and was tired of the money I had spent lately, and they were fantastic with troubleshooting the problem and finding the right and long term solution. To top it off, last week I took it back again because my hood wouldn't close and I had some issues with noise coming from my engine. They tore apart my drive train to fix the latter and didn't charge me for either! I promptly paid for an oil change, tire rotation, and transmission service. Dave, the owner, is very forthright, honest, and clearly wants to do right by his customers. Consider me a loyal customer as I will take my car here for every service I can think of as long as I live in Wilmington (doesn't hurt that their location is a nice 10 block walk from my house downtown!). I was very impressed by MobileTech's customer service and professionalism. They did a very good job of letting me know what was going on with my car, which I will be needing for a lot of driving very soon. Their oil change comes with an inspection (72-point I believe) that lets you know if there's anything that needs your attention. The owner of the shop is readily accessible and very kind. He does a good job of putting things into layman's terms so that you understand why the work that they are doing is necessary. You can tell that they are not trying to go over your head with technical terms just to scare up more cash and rip you off. They were even able to figure out multiple things that were done wrong at another shop where I had taken my car. Top notch service. I got $2000 worth of work done and that was an ouchie for my wallet, but now I feel secure driving my car and I will certainly bring it back to MobileTech in the future. read more

Received work on my car from mobiletech early this year. Spent 3k. Car road great. I loved that they had 3 yr warranty on their work and the reviews at both locations were great. Took my car back for an oil change went out of town, came backz my car was jerking. Called mobiletech and was asked why I waited so long to call them about the jerking. That rubbed me the wrong way. Especially after I'd explained I'd been out of town and my car hadn't been driven in 2 weeks and was told I'd be charged a diagnostic fee. I decided to just drive cuz id just soent 3k. The car couldn't have been that bad. 4 months later, the jerking has gotten worse. I called and took my car to get serviced. After researching I knew the issue was with the fuel pump or something with the fuel. When the guy called back and said it was my engine mounts I said are you sure its nothing to do with my fuel? He said no the vibration came from the engine mounts. I said do you mean the jerking? He said yes. I needed my car back asap for work and theyd done great work before so I told him to go ahead because hed also said we need to order parts asap. I google vibration of car while driving and it said engine sliding is what caused the vibration but I hadn't experienced that. It was a jerk. When the guy called back he said we got your car back but its still jerking not as bad. I was pissed immediately because I knew theyd just picked some shit to charge me for. My car started JERKING soon as I pulled off! Same hard jerk! Not even a week later, yesterday!I'm on my way to work and my car starts the worst shake ever! No longer a jerk! I was scared I was going to cut off in the middle of the street! Had my car towed to to mobiletech this morning, they called and said guess what?! We need to reboot your fuel system and replace your coils all for 1100 dollars! When I'd told the mfs it was the fuel system in the 1st place! When I told them about my original statement about the fuel. All he did was keep repeating what he read on the paperwork! Then said they showed me the mount like I knew wtf a engine mount looked like! And yes! My car has 140k miles on it. Had my suspicion been confirmed about the fuel I may have opted out! Over 800 put of pocket! I'd never take my car back here!now I cant drive my car at fucking all! read more

I went in to have my 2000 ford expedition serviced, I brought the part a fuel pump filter to be replaced since my uncle could not perform the service since he didn't have the right tools. They quoted the service for $32.50, which was the most affordable I had heard in my 15 phone calls looking for the best price for the service. They took the vehicle, replaced the part, and when they test drove it, it stopped working. They claim that it needs a completely new fuel pump, which was quoted at 330 dollars. read more

After being referred to Mobile Tech by a friend, I thought that I would try them vs a dealership. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Just to be fair, I was having a Ford 390 motor rebuilt. Not what Mobile Tech does everyday. I get it. They work primarily on Japanese cars. Tune ups, oil changes and basic run of the mill car repairs. However, after being told that they could rebuild my engine in about a month. It was 5 months later that I finally got my car back! What a nightmare. Not that I have the knowledge to rebuild a motor, but a Ford 390. That is engine building 101. Not for these guys. I NEVER once was informed of the progress of my car. I would call to get a status and was always assured that it would be finished in few days. Not once, not twice, but three times when told my motor was done it first had no oil flow to top of motor. Plugged oil galley that they tried blaming on the machine shop. Next torque converter installed incorrectly. Third time, big vibration. Never fixed properly. I had no choice but to go the magistrate to file a small claims lawsuit to recover my money. Had to threaten the owner with this before they let me take the car to the mechanic of my choice to try and remedy my vibration issue. The mechanic at Mobile Tech that worked on my engine was supposed to be the "THE FORD ENGINE MAN". What a joke. He screwed up on several occasions. I'am sure they may be qualified to do oil changes and minor repairs on Japanese vehicles. I'am going out on a limb with that statement. I had also been paying as I was told the work was progressing and all the time I was being lied to. I can't believe that people buy into this place as being a good auto repair shop.
