Absolutely love this music school. My son loves his guitar teacher Mr. Julio for his patience, friendship and knowledge in various genres of music. My son had no Concept of rhythm when he first started at this school, 4 years later he's still at it and is an amazing guitar player. Teacher Kevin (piano) and Teacher Ashley (vocal lessons) are both amazing music teachers. They are both very patient with my kids. Both kids are always very much excited every lesson. To be honest, the teachers are great. My son has learned from Mr Julio for one year, and my daughter learned from Ms Mia for 9 months, both teachers are great! However, the management is awful: 1. The owner tries to set up auto pay with parents checking account, which is a good thing to do, however, she asks parents to pay the processing fee. If you run the business, you cannot just have parents to be responsible for extra fees. So we refused to do auto pay, we still send payments through Venmo. This is not just about the money$1$2$3, it is about the responsibility of a business. 2. Communications have been so bad, the owner Lily just ignores my text messages all the time, btw the only times she texts me are asking for my payments. 3. Arrange make up lessons: Emergencies and family vacations happen to all the families through out the year, the contract says we can cancel lesson 24 hours before the class, I let her know my family's vacation almost 3 weeks ahead, and she just ignores my text messages. So I called her on 10/26, the moment she answered my phone and apologized for not replying to my messages. I still tried to let her know we would be out of town, first Arizona then Hawaii, then she started to give me hard time on arranging the make up lessons. We still have 30 minutes lesson remaining for each kid, and Lily agreed to schedule our last make up lesson. However, after we got back from vacation, I texted her if there are any openings, she just kept ignoring me. Today I followed up, and my husband called her (no answer), then she sent me the message when I am writing this true review. I just hope we can get our last lesson done, because we have already paid the tuition. UPDATE: the owner called and asked me to remove the review, then she will refund me $56, I refused to remove this true review. So it ended up bad, she was blaming me posing this bad review, when I asked for a solution beside removing this review, we cannot reach to an agreement. I told her to just keep $56, and give the money to the 2 teachers my kids love - Mr Julio and Ms Mia (I wish you both good luck, and thank you for all you do). The owner said she might reply to this review to argue. Well, whatever she is trying to say, she just does not want my bad review to affect her business. read more

In September, my son was a part of the Music Key School Fall Recital. I really have to say that we were really impressed with the show!!! It was really well done. A lot of time, effort and care went into it by everyone involved. And the venue was fantastic! Being at a college, I think, is very impressive to the students. They will never forget the fantastic performances they presented at such a prestigious environment. And, last by not least, I must day that the talent at your school is so impressive! Every single student shined in one way or the other. Everyone one of them!!! I really think a lot of that is due to the fantastic teachers you have aligned with you. And the parents too. Love this school. We've had two teachers so far: Ms Mia started off our daughter so wonderfully and when our schedules no longer aligned they got us in right away with Ms. Savannah and she's been so attentive so far! Our baby girl is learning so much and having fun in an easy learning environment. Bonus: comfy couches for the parents, and it's a really pleasant place to chill out, take a breath while your kids are busy playing, and listen to some lovely music in the backdrop. read more

My daughter took piano and guitar lessons for close to 3 years combined and learned a lot. We are thankful for all the wonderful instructors as well as the front desk staff, and the owner, Ms. Lily. My daughter gained confidence with the recitals and she enjoyed them very much. Unfortunately, we now have to say goodbye since my daughter joined the school band and will be dedicating her time to that. If she ever wants to resume piano and/or guitar lessons, we will definitely return to The Music Key School. Great school. My son started taking piano lessons at 4 years old and was shy, nervous, and cried when I left his side. A year later he is reading music, playing the piano and wants to learn more. Lilly is kind, patient and encouraging and has been key in helping my son develop a love and appreciation for music. Now almost a year later he looks forward to his lessons and practices daily. Their scheduling is great and their prices are reasonable. Communication is great, I'm always getting feedback about his progress. What I do like most is how patient they are with my sometimes bouncy little kid. She kindly redirects his attention back to the lesson and continues.   Lilly does want her students to succeed and you can tell by her teaching. My son's grandfather is a seasoned singer and wanted to develop a stronger voice. He worked with Lacey, and her education in opera challenged him to grow and work on his vocal range. He loved learning from her. They were also able to work around his work schedule. He loved it and will go back to sharpen his vocal skills.  My older son was also taking vocal lessons with Lacey. She was great. Friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. Love her.  She too was patient, kind, and able to teach both children and adults. She was also able to work with my son when he got distracted or disinterested. She was great and got results with both grandpa and son. I've in the past worked with another vocal teacher from a different company who would end the lesson early because my son wasn't following the lesson.  She was unwilling and unable to coach him back . So I can truly appreciate their hard work and dedication to their students. Highly recommend! read more

Wow! What an amazing little family owned business, I'm so happy they are Open for business I was looking for something for my little granddaughter to do and boy oh boy did I find it. That's right it's here in Rancho Cucamonga corner of foothill and haven, let me just say WOW! Again. this team ( the Music Key School) they are so friendly and knowledgeable in there music, I have know clue in music but they are so kind and helpful to my granddaughter and I i feel like I could sing a song La la la la! There's not enough reviews about this place to tell the truth, most are passive simple ratings. Beyond poor direction here. My 8 year old was here for 7 months. Our kid had 3 different teachers, all the teachers quit. One teacher Ms Ester was the only reason we stayed but one day she was out sick. The substitute that took her place, in which I found out later was the owner but, was horrible, she can't even pronounce her words correctly. She wasted time in our session and was rambling the whole time on a lesson that was way above our kid level and wasn't on task. I told her too. Basically they didn't like that I told them the truth about their poor management and they wanted an apology for me speaking the truth. The lady agreed that she wasn't in tuned with what she was teaching her. Not to mention the many request to reschedule our time slot because they have so many holes in their classes due to drop outs. However they did not give us an apology for wasting our time and admitting this lady is not fit to run this business. They sent messages to me thinking because they are the owner I would feel different. I told them I was more upset knowing they are owners and aren't prepared. As a business owner myself, I make sure my team is always prepared for our customer needs. Nice place, nice location, but seriously the teachers are just trying to get a quick paycheck. Ms. Ester was the only teacher I've seen that was really into teaching the kids. I would pay her 3 times the amount that I paid the school for private sessions. Although we've paid for 7 months and because the owner spent 1 session, unprepared, they did not like being told they were in the wrong so they took it up on themselves to put our kid out. Newsflash, this is not the only place to teach kids music. I wouldn't send a kid here for free knowing the leadership mentality. read more

Learning to play an instrument as an adult is a bit nerve wracking but Ms. Lilly and Miss Marissa went above and beyond our expectations. They have a warm communication style which gave her the confidence she needed to learn while never making her feel intimidated. My wife suffers from extreme anxiety and ADD. They recognized moments during some lessons in which she felt overwhelmed, started to feel anxious, or her focus would veer. They adapted quickly and redirected those lessons to playing simple pieces she had previously learned so her muscle memory could help adjust her focus and keep the anxiety to a minimum. My 11 year old daughter is quiet and reserved. We asked if she would be interested in music lessons to help her come out of her shell. She choose Ukulele. We signed her up for classes at the Music key school, and in a short amount of time she has blossomed and learned so much. The staff is the nicest, they are flexible, and accommodating to our schedules. My daughter has now learned two instruments in a short amount of time. Her teacher is patient and even helps her out with songs that my daughter just wants to learn for fun. I started my daughter pretty young at about 3.5 yrs old. I attempted to teach her on my own before since I play piano but we weren't going anywhere with that at home. Decided to start her with Miss Lilly. She was so patient with daughter. Luckily my daughter listens to her, from the very start. Her teaching style is patient and definitely tailors to the students learning ability. My daughter had her first piano recital in August and she memorized 5 short pieces. But a lot of the practicing has to come from home too. Structure and consistency is key. We like Miss Lilly. Can't wait for the next piano recital. read more
