Although I had a teacher who was mean and wasn't nice. He was nice when you meet him but when you get to know you, he's rude and gives you a attitude and he's the other reason why I quit band. His name was Luke Mallicore or something of his last name. I have a cleft pallet and he always sounded annoyed when I try to explain to him that I can't reach to certain high notes and he tells me not to do something with my mouth even though that's the only way for me to play my trombone. I wouldn't recommend to have classes with him.

BUT we all know of rumors (and unfortunately some true) stories of online purchases that went to bad ends.[That's not why I'm writing this YELP!] I am writing to endorse the owner of this store--his honesty and truthfulness! All via long distance from several states away. I satisfied my curiosity by researching the guitar model first--and in-market price ranges. Once I found the guitar, I opened an email exchange with the owner (Joe) and was directed to his website. Once I'd proven that this was an established, credible business with employees and history, I was engaged. Upon finding out that this is a community-centered business with ties to the town and a history of business--topped off by being a proudly-proclaimed family business. I was convinced. Joe and I agreed to handle the transaction via his credit card processor and bank (same bank I use) and agreed to shipping arrangements and details. The receipt arrived first and within a few days, as informed, the guitar arrived with no harm in transit what so ever. Exactly as Joe had promised and superbly packed and protected by him very well during shipment. I'm exceptionally happy in my new guitar having reignited my interest in the instrument, and happy to have made a new friend in the music store business. AND, reinforcing my belief in the honesty of small businesses once again. IF you are in the Joliet IL area, get to know these folks. It's a classy, extremely high caliber music school disguised in a humble, charming building and taught by humble charming people. Additionally, randomly, their bass teachers are also really, really, ridiculously cool. And smart. And funny?! And for some reason their rooms always smell the best?! Anyway, just my observation as someone who walked by it on the sidewalk once and definitely not the bass teacher with the essential oil diffuser (it's cedarwood oil). On a more serious (quarter) note: enrolling your kids here opens them to an extremely supportive, positive, driven community while at the same time exposes them to the highest caliber private & small group music instruction in Naperville.

It's about Teamwork: my 12 year old son practically calls School of Rock Napervillle his second home. It is truly like a family here! Great life lessons are learned behind these doors: Respect, Empathy, Team Skills, and Positive Communication and Affirmation. It's about Passion: my son has found his soul here. Jenny in particular was a treat to work with -- she shares my love of musical theater and was very open to any style of music I wanted to pursue. Cody and Michele were also great on the admin side; they were diligent about reminders and communication, as well as super helpful with scheduling conflicts. I highly recommend the Music Connection to adult students and to any parent who wants their child to take lessons in a caring, fun environment.
