I have been taking guitar lessons for 2 years at the Music Tree and I would definitely recommend them for anyone wanting to learn how to sing or learn an instrument. My particular instructor is very good, patient, and honest. He'll tell me if I had a good lesson, or what I need to do as far as practicing better for the next lesson. I have listened to the instructors talking to the students and parents after lessons, and they are very caring, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I have listened to the owner carefully and patiently explain the lesson policies over the phone and in person. He is very clear as to what the policies are, and what lesson options are available. If a student is unable to make a scheduled lesson, it is expected that they, or their parents notify the Music Tree at least 24 hours in advance, so the instructor can reschedule. I originally signed up for a 3 lesson trial, but it didn't work out, and the owner, Bill, gave me credit for the one lesson, and transferred my remaining 2 lesson fees to my new lessons and schedule. He worked with me to make sure that I was satisfied, and that I ended up getting what I was happy with! As far as the unhappy person in a previous review, it is obvious that the clearly explained process for the 3 trial lessons was either not followed or ignored by the individual. read more

My teacher is engaging, pushes me, and most importantly I am getting a foundational base that I know I can build on for years to come. I am adult of slightly advanced years who always wanted to learn to play classical guitar. I have performance anxiety. My teacher, John, has not only helped me relax enough to be able to handle the rare occasion when I have a substitute teacher but he is so positive and encouraging that I was playing "real" music after only 6 months of lessons. John plays with me at every lesson and is flexible when my curiosity takes us down a rabbit hole. His enthusiasm makes me want to practice. Everyone who works there is enthusiastic and welcoming. The Music Tree is a fun, relaxed place for people of all ages to study voice or most any instrument. Bill is personable and professional and makes everyone, young and old, feel welcome and encouraged. My son enjoys his lessons here more than he has with any other instructor. Joey has encouraged my son's compositions and improved his technique and understanding of music theory. At the recitals I am impressed with the variety of styles of music and instruments played, and the dedication of each instructor. He was exceptionally nervous when we first walked into The Music Tree, but Bill, the owner, made him feel comfortable and excited about learning a new instrument.
