The vibe at The Electric is so chill, and the staff is great about helping you decide what to order. They're also more than willing to give suggestions, which I really appreciated. I also decided to step outside my comfort zone and try one of their cocktails. I went with the Velvet Elvis, an Old Fashioned. An Old Fashioned is totally out of my element, but it was actually SO good! The bartender made mine with a little more Montenegro, and I really believe that helped make it something I could enjoy. Great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and staff who are happy to help make recommendations -- definitely a fun spot for a girls' night!

They have incredible sandwiches and sides that are high quality and affordable. I have tried the Camilla sandwich, house seasoned kettle chips, mac and cheese and bread pudding. The service is also pretty fast and the main server that's been working the few times I've visited is friendly and efficient. The Electric offers indoor and outdoor seating, and the patio is covered and equipped with fans to combat the summer heat. I look forward to returning and trying more items from their menu!

Original Review: Woody's has a great atmosphere, the restaurant was clean, and our server was excellent. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The food was incredibly disappointing, especially for the price. Nearly everything we ordered tasted like frozen, pre-made food-service products rather than food prepared in-house. The mozzarella sticks were clearly frozen, the sauces tasted straight out of a bag or can, and nothing about the meal justified the prices. The biggest letdown was the Caesar Wrap. At $16 with chicken, I expected something much better. Instead, it came with olives and tomatoes (on a Caesar?), no Parmesan, what appeared to be a basic bagged salad mix, generic, overly gelatinous bottled-style Caesar dressing, and just three tiny pieces of chicken despite paying extra for the protein. The menu simply lists it as "Our Caesar Wrap" with your choice of protein--it doesn't mention tomatoes or olives anywhere. If those ingredients had been listed, I'd chalk it up to me overlooking the description. But they weren't. When you order a Caesar wrap, you expect a Caesar wrap, not one loaded with ingredients that fundamentally change it. Our bill was over $50 before tip for one appetizer, two entrées, and one soda. I understand this is bar food, but charging premium prices for what tastes like pre-made food-service products just doesn't make sense. With so many bars in the Birmingham area serving fresh, quality food for similar prices, there's simply no reason to settle for this. The atmosphere and service were genuinely great, but the food wasn't anywhere close to the value the menu suggests. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.
