I picked up the Pearl Demon XR double pedal here because the price was the best on the market, but the post purchase support was even better. Out of the box, the pedals were equipped with heavy "monster" springs, and the softer factory option was missing due to a Pearl manufacturing mix up. Because I couldn't dial in the tension I needed, I decided to initiate a return. I reached out to Peter, and he immediately approved the return with no questions asked. The next day, I got a call from Dave at Pearl regarding my situation. He was beyond understanding and incredibly accommodating. Instead of just mailing out replacement springs, Dave sent me an entire new set of pedals. I received them, swapped in the softer springs, and the pedals now play perfectly. Just had an extremely offensive exchange with a very RUDE employee. I have been renting from the store for at least 3 or 4 years. Due to this very unpleasant, impatient and nasty conversation, I will be returning the instrument at the end of the year and will not be renting again. You should be more careful about who you let interact with your customers. She could not have been more thoroughly disrespectful. read more

I brought my late seventies American made Stratocaster in for a setup on a Saturday and asked to have it by the following Saturday because of my work schedule. The gentleman told me that it should be no problem. I called the following Saturday and he told me that he did not have the clearance to release it to me. Bummer... but the dude did the right thing and offered to bring it to my apartment on Monday. Which he did. Who does that? It's safe to say that people who take pride in their work and value their customers do. I walked in last week to buy something for my father for Christmas. He said he's always wanted to go into this store so I figured I'd go in and possibly surprise him with a new bass or guitar. I entered the store and the kid behind the counter didn't even greet me nothing. I walked around the store looking at stuff for About 10 minutes thinking he'd ask if I needed help or possibly assist me in finding something for my father. The kid didn't even look up at me ..not only is the store small and I'm right there ...there was no one else in the store. I was going to ask questions about the few guitars they had on display but I was pretty annoyed and left. Don't waste your time here. Customer service isn't their priority and the store set up is messy. This place sucks read more

Man was I disappointed with my experience at the Muzic Store! I brought them my 1965 Fender Bandmaster guitar amp for repair. They held onto it for a couple days before even diagnosing it, and when they eventually did diagnose it, they told me they wanted to swap out every resistor and cap (it had been recapped recently) and couldn't give me a really solid reason as to why it wasn't working. They also wanted about $400 for the job. I told them absolutely not, I'd go somewhere else. Well, they didn't like this too much and told me that my amp was in Queens with their tech and that he wouldn't be back till the weekend. Well the weekend came and went, and when I called to inquire about getting my amp back, I was told that the tech hadn't been able to come by and I'd have to wait another week. I explained that I am a guitarist by profession and I need to have my gear back in order to work. They heaved and sighed and said that the tech would have to make a special trip up from Queens just for my amp. I told them I didn't care and that it wasn't my problem and that they needed to quit holding my amp hostage. I did eventually get it back, but only after a huge headache and having to chase them around. And guess what. I took the amp to my regular tech when he was back in town and the repair cost me $50. Couple suspect solder joints causing grounding issues. Easy peasey. Muzic Store really tried to rip me off and then inconvenienced me immensely when I wouldn't pay them the exorbitant amount they quoted me. read more

My past experiences with The Muzic Store have been nothing but positive. As a drummer, I was amazed by the sheer volume of equipment that was in their Vaudeville-style theatre, which was packed to the ceiling with any and every last part you could need, along with beginner to professional sets. The owner, Pete, is a knowledgeable musician and a capable salesman. He happily works with customers to see they leave his store satisfied. His staff is just as capable, friendly, and professional. What I especially appreciate is that the Muzic Store does not function like your typical chain music stores, in that they actually look like they have stock to sell. While it looks overwhelming as you first enter the theatre, one quickly realizes how well maintained and surprisingly organized it all is. To me, there is something for everyone here, and one would be doing themselves a disservice by not swinging by. I will certainly be coming back whenever I need new gear. read more
