Very pricey and the food is horrible. The only reason I am giving this 1 star is because the coffee was good

Back for an updated review. Koffee Kove has been sold and reopened, and sadly it's nothing like the…read moreoriginal. I just ate there for lunch today, and the food now? It is not good. The "fresh baked" Mac and cheese suggested by the owner had no flavor. Not even cheese. Just mushy elbow macaroni. But worse, I asked if the battered haddock sandwich was fresh or frozen and the owner - who was sitting in a booth working on a laptop, lied and emphatically said it was. No, it sure wasn't. You know flat haddock strips that are breaded and frozen and sold in bulk? And the restaurant then just heats it up in hot oil? Kinda like a Tops fish fry? That's what it was. Slapped on a slightly toasted hoagie roll with a plastic cup of tartar sauce, no lettuce or tomato. Plus my $3 Diet Coke arrived in a little juice glass, lol. Lots of empty tables but still a 15 min wait, and they didn't seem to have enough staff to keep up with bussing dirty tables. All in all a poor lunch experience for two with bill over $50. Something is really wrong when a restaurant can't keep enough staff to run properly. I miss Koffee Kove.

My order was the French toast with bacon, butter and syrup every time!! I cannot even begin to explain the delicious food but more than that a place where I can eat a comfort meal while watching planes depart and arrive from a beautiful airport. The owner and employees are so attentive, caring and all around just loving people! This is the BEST cafe I have ever reviewed especially if you love airplanes like me!!! Since moving, I look forward to visiting here anytime I come for vacation!! A very nostalgic comfort breakfast for me! Simply the best! KAP316

This was such an unexpected treat!…read more Walking around Lake Placid, we bumped into a couple who wound up suggesting a couple of restaurants for us to check out. Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.
