I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Their sandwiches are so yummy and fresh. I always get the Rondack Lake one. I remover back when they had some yummy smoothies too, but now I get a cozy tea. There is not a ton of seating inside, but plenty outside. I always bring my dog and he loves it too. They will bring your order to you so you don't have to go pick it up, which I absolutely think it amazing. The staff is very friendly and loves to help. Friendly staff and a decent sized coffee menu. For me, with several major good sensitivities, the food menu felt redundant - with just a minor change between each sandwich. I wound up ordering a chicken sandwich with just lettuce. Not their fault it was boring - it was what my stomach was going to be able to handle. My only complaint, and maybe they can't help that either, was there the chicken was kinda dry...which made it a bit hard to swallow given that lettuce was the only moisture on sandwich. Hubby ordered a chicken sandwich with all the fixins and thought it was "darn tasty". It was on the daily specials menu and had quite a few things on it - cheese, avocado, raspberry jam. read more

Ozzie's is such a great spot for breakfast/lunch - located in the heart of Old Forge and has some indoor/outdoor seating. The food here is always spot on and delicious and you can never go wrong with anything! For breakfast I usually get the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant and it is always soo good. On busy weekends, I would recommend calling ahead and placing your order over the phone because there's sometimes long lines. Great spot! read more

This was a great find! I'm currently pregnant with twins and all I crave for breakfast is a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. This place did not disappoint. The first morning I ordered the sandwich on a croissant. The next morning I tried it on a bagel. The croissant was delicious and buttery, but the bagel was more filling. They have great choices for coffee with daily special flavors. If you are looking for a baked good for breakfast, they have those too. I will be going back during our next visit. read more

Yesterday... my daughter her boyfriend and myself went to Old Forge to hike Bald Mountain. After we were of course a bit hungry. They are apparently coffee connoisseurs.. soooo we stopped at Ozzie's. I like that most of the businesses in Old Forge are not chains in fact rumor had it the town kicked out McDonalds which I can't even tell you how awesome that is but I digress So I got a regular coffee with a little cream and sugar. It was really good. Didn't taste burnt or too weak. Dare I say Baby Bear's pourage? I got the Raquette Lake sandwich (all named after local lakes) it had a horseradish Mayo ,great cheese, soft bread, and a great portion. The only thing that we all had that wasn't noteworthy was the corn chowder too much pepper for any of our liking. Even with the soup fail I will go back and tell you if you're in Old Forge stop in it is small but there is outdoor seating and totally worth it!! Also super friendly staff which in my humble opinion always sets the tone for a good meal read more

Always have to stop at least once on our family trip to Old Forge. Not a big coffee drinker but I love the Black Bear Mt. sandwich. Prices are a bit high for my liking but it's understandable for the location being a tourist town in New York. Small little place, you won't be disappointed. read more

Nice little place with decent coffee, tea and barista made drinks on the main drag in Old Forge. Old Forge needed a little coffee shop for a quick pick me up when you don't have time to sit down for breakfast. Coffee based drinks were freshly made. The iced tea was cold and refreshing. Their baked goods were large portions which can easily be shared! Nice little place with indoor or outdoor seating with adequate views for people watching. This has always been our favorite place to eat when in Old Forge. The food is So good! BUT....we were very disappointed when they replaced the cafe tables with picnic tables this year. Who wants to share a table with strangers? Picnic tables meant fewer places to sit, unless you want to join people you don't know. Hondo and crew provide wonderful service and amazing food and drink. There's nothing quite like a stop at Ozzie's to start your morning or afternoon. Their salads and paninis are all great, but the real stand out is the breakfast sandwich, bacon and an over easy egg served with sharp cheese on a croissant. If you need a little extra crunch, you can add a sliced Granny Smith apple. They've eliminated indoor seating due to the pandemic; even so it is still a cute atmosphere inside, with local artwork on the walls, a corkboard where locals post business cards/advertisements, and plenty of sweet photos that call back to Ozzie, the original owner's beloved pooch. Safe to say this is a very dog friendly spot. There is still plenty of outdoor seating, although it does get busy in the summer. Cash/card accepted. read more

We love Ozzie's! We stop here at least once every trip to Fourth Lake. The outdoor seating is great to watch the world go by and occasionally a deer too. I always get their breakfast sandwich with sliced green apple, cheese and egg on a croissant. My family has enjoyed many other sandwiches and bagels as well. The coffee is always fresh and the cappuccino delicious. My 12 year old got a mocha, decaf latte which he loved. Soo this is my new favorite spot to eat in Old Forge. I yelped lunch spots to try after paddle boarding all day on Nicks lake and Ozzie's is a 2 min drive from the lake. There is plenty of parking in the front and side streets. It's a cute little café with indoor & outdoor seating (the most comfortable Adirondack wooden chairs outside). Their sandwiches & paninis are named after lakes & mountains in the Adirondacks. They also have homemade soups, desserts, WINE! Saranac beer, and delicious coffee. I decided on the Raquette Lake sandwich which is vermont maple ham, provolone, romaine and cusabi horseradish sauce on flatbread. Very light and perfect on a hot summer day. I also got a lemonade and everything was under $10. We ate outside and it was perfect! All of the employees are super nice. While we were eating tons of people stopped by to get ice coffee and it looked absolutely delicious. On the special there was a S'mores frozen latte!! I rave about their breakfast sandwiches here. Specialized coffee drinks. Kind of like a personalized local Starbucks experience regarding the coffee. Many tea, latte, capachino, espresso options. Plus: They offer dog treats and cookies there for your animals. Love this! They also sell some beer and wine. I've never ordered that from Ozzies but think it's a different offering than your normal cafe. Lastly, there is outdoor seating on those warm days! read more

Was in town a few weeks ago. Cappuccino was very weak and watered down. When I let the girl at the counter know she told me "next time you order a cappuccino, tell me you want it stronger (cappuccino is normally a stronger coffee drink)." Said it was weak because of the setting on her coffee machine. I told her I was travelling through and would not be back in. She didnt seem to care and put it on me for me Not telling her to change the setting....wtf? Shouldn't call yourself a coffee shop if Coffee is not that good. Service is poor. Asked to have my cinnamon roll heated and got told they were too busy at the time when there were no customers waiting behind me. Got an Oreo frappe and had no flavor at all besides milk. Chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon roll was very good though. read more

As an FYI, the map is wrong, and mapquest will get you lost coming here - just stay on 28. ANYHOW - it's our first day in the ADK and we're wandering around town looking for someplace to have lunch. There's a diner that looks ok, but not terribly interesting and we're not looking for greasy grilled cheese for lunch. We happen upon a newer business, Ozzie's, and check it out. It's a small place with outdoor seating, and it's named after the owner's 14 year old Golden Retriever. It didn't seem that appealing when we got there, but considering the alternatives we decided to split a salad and a sandwich. We ordered the house salad, a mixed green salad with red onion, feta, green apple, chipotle pecans and poppy seed dressing, as well as a tuna salad in pita, also with green apples and black bean soup. All of the above were very good, and the black bean soup got better the next day (as soups generally do) and everything was obviously fresh and house made. It was a pleasant and welcome surprise considering we figured we'd get some generic sandwich and salad and call it a day. The owner and her staff were all very friendly, and she even ended up helping us with directions out of town which ended up being a very scenic and enjoyable ride to our next destination. Overall very good, very friendly, and surprisingly quality for being out in the sticks. You should check it out if you're up north. read more

We had read about Ozzie's as we prepared for our trip to Old Forge. We were really looking forward to the independent coffee shop experience. Our first trip was at 8 am -- which at this shop that opens at 7:30 -- is with the "morning rush". To be clear, the shop is in a small town and as such the ambiance is rustic and old in feel. The ordering process seemed to take a while -- but after waiting 10 minutes for our 2 lattes, the ordering line was a distant memory. Now, to give credit, the lattes were quite delicious and did lead us to want to return. So we did, in the afternoon. Along the way we ran in to some friends who had just eaten at Ozzie's -- they reported that, though delicious, the sandwiches were greasy and took a while. We ventured in for our second coffee -- and this is the real reason for the 2 star review. The woman at the cash register barely acknowledged us -- we are from the south, we say "hi" and like to make eye contact. Clearly we disturbed her. When my husband ordered a double espresso with a little milk, if possible, she acted as of we were ordering lumber in a coffee shop. After explained again what he wanted, she finally "got it". In looking at the menu board, I assumed it would be $2 -- not bad for a short coffee order. Instead it was over $4. When I inquired about the price -- she said that we ordered a macchiato -- which was not true -- and that's what it cost -- again not true per the board. The coffee luckily did not take 10 minutes to get this time (though we were the only ones in the shop). But let's be honest, it tasted a bit more bitter due in large part to her sour attitude. If you're going to work in a coffee shop -- learn the drinks (or ask for clarification when a customer orders something) and don't be so sour. It's unbecoming! read more

Driving into Old Forge, NY, we wanted a quick bite for lunch. Looking at the area, we expected to find only greasy food. Ozzie's looked nice so we stopped in. The food choices were phenomenal! Very upscale cafe food. I got a cheddar and Monterrey Jack panini with granny smith apple on it. Delicious! Plus, the owner was very nice and had her dog with her....super friendly. I loved the place. It helped make a long drive with a lack of vegetarian food so much better. read more

This is a pretty decent little coffee shop in Old Forge. I like the atmosphere and although I didn't eat here the food looked really good. The one thing that made me give Ozzies a 3 star review rather than a 4 is that the Espresso in both our Lattes was really really weak and kinda killed the feel for the whole experience.
