Annie was a delight--super sweet, gentle, and talented. We even had a fantastic conversation while she gave me the most relaxing pedicure. And jazz music was playing in the background! I had never been to a nail salon that played jazz, but it was so great and only added to the whole experience. Annie and her mom recently took over this business and are extremely honest and kind. While I was there, a new customer left his wallet behind. The owner (Annie's mom) actually ran after the guy, but she was too late. The man eventually came back, and his wallet had been stowed safely until he returned. I was very impressed by these ladies and their business ethics, talent, and kindness. I will definitely be back! The first technician was clearly struggling with the design but continued attempting it. Another technician was then brought in to complete the design, but unfortunately the result still wasn't good. I paid and left, but after getting a better look at my nails, I realized how unhappy I was with the finished set. The design was messy and did not resemble the reference I provided. I returned to the salon and gave them an opportunity to correct the issue. I was offered a few nail repairs, but because I was already unhappy with the overall design, I asked for it to be removed and wanted a different design instead. Instead of acknowledging that the requested design was not executed properly, I was told that it wasn't their fault because I hadn't stopped them while they were doing it and that I would have to pay additional money for the new design. There was also discussion about wasted polish and stones. What also bothered me was being told that "no one is going to notice it from far away" and that it was only noticeable if you looked closely. I don't think that is an appropriate response to a customer who is paying for a detailed nail service and has clearly communicated that she is unhappy with the finished work. I shouldn't have to keep my hands at a distance for the imperfections not to be noticeable. I don't believe a customer should have to pay an additional fee to correct a design that was not done correctly in the first place. I also felt uncomfortable with the way the situation was handled, including attempts to blame work from a previous salon for the outcome. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the focus was more on defending the service than making sure I was satisfied with what I paid for.
