Update to my first appt....went back for an appt with Don and he had left this salon. The service I got was not anywhere near as good. Within 2 days I had a chipped nail and now more separated nails. I booked an appointment on a Saturday for 3 people for manicures. I understand that saturdays are busy but the employees acted as though they did not want to be there. We were rushed to pick a color and sit down. We were not sat remotely close to one another. When I got my nails done the person was very aggressive while cutting my cuticles and made me bleed for about 5 minutes. My nails look as though I did them at home. The polish was uneven and cracked by the next day. I wanted to like this place because it is a nice new place in Missoula but the service is poor. While drinks come with all services. Rude workers, tried to charge $15 extra to cut cuticles during a manicure?!? Isn't cuticle cleaning part of the manicure? My teen and her friend felt taken advantage, as the employee tried to scam them for more $, they were talked about rudely while sitting there in the chairs having their nails done by the employees in their native language. They were yelled at when employee Paulina wanted more of a tip, and treated very poorly by Sam as well. My teen and her friend know how to act respectfully in establishments, and are not new to the nail scene. I followed up with a call afterwards...mama bear me, wasn't happy. My two friends and I went in to get a fill, and two new acrylic sets... simple right? Mine started off fine and my nail tech, Cindy was being very pleasant AT FIRST. My friend came over next to me to get her fill, she was being very polite and was telling her nail tech what he can do to help with the fill, Cindy chimes in and is mocking my friend and rolling her eyes at my friend. It was so embarrassing to watch and I wasn't even a part of it. Then as my nails are finishing Cindy told me it would be $92, I wasn't expecting that price because the board said it would be $68 for a new set and $8 for the French tip, which is $76 in total not $92!! I wouldn't have been that upset if my nails weren't JANKING AS HELL!!! I wanted to cry. I tired asking why it was $92 and they said it was because of the type of French tip, which I was never given an option. I went back and talked to the front desk lady and tired explaining if I'm going to pay $92 for nails they have to look semi good, right!? I had Binh redo my nails and made them look a lot better she was very sweet and even gave me money back which I was super appreciative of. My other friend got her nails done, they were filled down a little too short and some of the nails were crooked when it was all finished she tired to ask if there is anything she can do about it, and she was getting yelled at by one of the employees telling her that what she got is exactly what she asked for even though it absolutely wasn't, and they completely turned her away which I thought was rude and ridiculous. Well, not entirely impressed by this place. While my nail tech was competent and did do a decent job on my nails, I wouldn't recommend. The atmosphere wasn't comfortable. This is such a beautiful salon and the people are so helpful and kind the work they do is pretty great also I love the fact they have a private room that you can rent out for a bridal parties I think that is the best idea and more nail salon should offer that option also if they're able to. The only thing I will say is it is $58 for a dip manicure ALONE and that is very overpriced even compared to California salons in Orange County that I would go to every 3 weeks for a dip manicure for 32$ and a regular pedi for 35$. I stopped in today and there were a couple people next to me getting a pedicure also. I chose one of the higher priced ones above the basic. The hot stone massage was short, maybe 1 to 2 minutes max, polish was good. The guy who did my nails was very sweet. But I was never offered anything to drink, the people sitting next to me that were both being done when I walked in, both had drinks. We all finished at exactly the same time and when they checked out right in front of me, they got the basic. Mine was done at the same time even though they were already in service when I got there, they had drinks offered to them and I did not. Danielle tech came quickly and sat down and made sure she was hooked up to her phone. She tossed me the color selections and I waited for the normal initial small talk, but there wasn't any. She began working and after drilling down 1 hand the color nail select chart was in the way and that's when she asked my choice. That was the only thing said between us. I was worried about the condition of my nails, as she was done in 45 minutes. I can usually go 3-5 weeks between fills and I had to miss with my regular nail tech, so I thought I'd try The Nail Place.... Bad choice. I'm sure for a regular appointment thank goodness!
