Yelp supposedly decided not to post my review- so here's 2nd try- I went yesterday for my 2nd visit- since I had a great experience the first time. I was happy to found a nail spa that was cheaper and across the street from my new workplace. I went in for a gel manicure and the female technician started working on my nails. 10 min into it some lady walks in requesting a wax job and pedicure and requesting the wax job to be done before the pedi. One of the other techs told my tech to go to do it. So what do you know- she gets up and waxes the woman- was gone 15min! Mind you there were 4 other workers there- 2 not doing anything! My mind was blown. Then she comes back to me to finish the job- only to get up a 2nd time to fix the woman's eyebrows who was complaining. Why is that other customer's time more precious than mine?Why couldn't she have waited to do the wax job after she was done with me. I'm not one to blow up in public but it took all of me not to say anything. I give 2 stars because my nail job was ok. But doubtful I'm coming back because they don't respect their customer's time. I mean who does that? I'd rather go to Solace Day Spa where I live where they take time to talk to you- even though it's more expensive- it's the quality and respect of the experience that you deserve. read more

So disappointed to update my review negatively as this was my neighborhood spot. I had a different tech today for a gel mani and have very little positive to report! There is a lot of uneven color around my nail beds, my cuticles aren't smooth and even, and the color isn't applied to the nail tips so it looks worn even though I've not walked out of the salon yet. The pedicure was much better (different tech) but the gel mani is the more expensive treat and lasts longer/is more visible so I'm disappointed. I honestly do a better job myself at home. Also, despite not being in any rush they did the mani/pedi simultaneously. This means I'm sitting in the pedi massage chair while a 2nd tech is pulling one arm across my body and trying to hold my hand in the air while painting. This wasn't comfortable for me at all, and I'm sure it contributed to the very sloppy gel polish job. Why would you not do it right and use a sit-down station if you have time and the client has time??? It was so not worth the price for the gel mani today. read more

Ugh, you're greeted by a glass of wine! I had shellac AND acrylic put on my nails for my wedding 3 weeks ago, and I've been DYING to get that crap removed. I'm definitely a peddy person, not mani.. and I never paint my nails. Just seeing that gel and acrylic chip off week by week drove me crazy. Tom did wonders! The owner, I believe, (don't know her name) took the crap off my fingers with clippers so not to soak them in acetone for 20 mins, the Tom buffed away all the shellac and acrylic and made my nails looked as though they were never molested by that stuff!!! I also got the spa pedicure, definitely worth the extra 10 bucks. There wasn't any wait around 4:30 on a Weds night, and the place is bright. Lastly, how much more can you say about customer service when the first thingy you are asked after "what color do you want" is "red or white wine".. all FREE! This is AMAZING and VERY SMART marketing. I rarely get my toes professionally done but if you throw a free glass of wine in there, see you every 3 weeks baby. I got a gel manicure and the nail polish chipped on 4 fingers in a week. I called and asked when I should come back and Christine told me to come at 7pm. I came at 7 and had to wait for over an hour to have my nails done. She took new customers and continued to tell me she would be right with me. I usually go to Eastern Market nails, and while they do a great job, they're usually so crowded, so I tried this salon for a change and was very happy with the service and the salon. My gel mani looks perfect. The salon staff are all very friendly, professional, and efficient. Plenty of essie and OPI colors to pick from as well as a great selection of gel/shellac colors. Stopped by as I was on my way to another place...The sign outside caught my eye as well as Christine's bright smile and wave in the window. What a wonderful surprise! This was by far the best pedicure I've ever had! Linda's attention to detail and gentle but firm touch was special. Christine mentioned that Linda gave wonderful massages and I wasn't surprised given the great leg and foot massage I had received. And how nice to be offered a glass of champagne and a little cup of snacks as I sat feeling very pampered. Highly, highly recommended! This place was the worst experience of my life. My friend and I went to the Salon at 12 and didn't get out until 3:30!!! Yes three hours for a simple manicure and pedicure. We waited to ge help 30 minutes later, there were people who came after us and they were helped before us! When we got there it was slightly busy then everyone left and we were still there. I will never go back, the manicure came out alright I've had better. Don't waste your time. My friend also had to change technician because the other one didn't know how to put the overlay. Unless you have all the time in the world I would suggest skipping this place and go somewhere else. read more

Finally, my go-to nail place in Eastern Market! I got a basic mani/pedi and honestly, she did such a great job that the mani is practically as nice looking and long lasting as a shellac. They seemed to have a nice selection of polish (I brought my own), the massage chairs are fantastic, and the place is clean. I did wait a bit while soaking, but it was right after work, I didn't have an appointment and I wasn't in a hurry - so it was fine by me. I'll definitely be back! read more

Dropped in on a Friday night to get a manicure and pedicure. I left very happy with the service and results. The staff is friendly and the wait was very short which was great on a Friday evening. The facility is clean and the equipment is well kept and new looking. The pricing seems very reasonable for the area. They also make it easy to drop by with the long hours that they are open. I only go to a salon about twice a year, but will happily return here when it is time for my next visit. read more

I'm so thrilled I found The Nails Spa. Christine took great care of me, providing an excellent job applying a new set of nails - pink and white. She cares about her customers, very attentive, and has good skill. Linda gave me a wonderful pedicure. She was so thorough and careful. The place is very clean. Sadly, with wet, wrinkly, unpolished, toes I just left this establishment. After spending 45 mins waiting patiently it seemed they didn't want my business as they allowed another customer to "jump the line". They try to seduce you with free water and snacks while you are waiting but really they need to just have a "by appointment only" policy because this new business can't handle the foot traffic just yet. read more
