Solid and reliable food from this well-run, bright, clean and spacious cafe. Cottage Pie, Fish & Chips, bacon rolls, sausage butties . . . name a dish from the british caff lexicon, and I'm pretty sure this place does it.
We arrived hungry and thirsty the owners spotted this straight away and immediately offered us some lovely buttered toast to keep you going as they told us (and it was free of charge!). The hugest amount of tea swiftly followed and was nice and strong too.
Our bacon rolls were lovely thick cuts of bacon, not that watery stuff. The bread from toast to rolls was quality stuff. The service was friendlly, warm and welcoming.
There are daily lunch specials lamb chops with chips, peas and gravy when we were there prices are incredibly reasonable and the service superb.
The Narrowboat Cafe makes a great starting point for any walk into the Lee Valley Park. We left it feeling very well looked after. Our comment, amongst ourselves, was 'why do people bother going to MacDonald's when you can get food as good as this?'.
Please go to the Narrowboat Cafe next time you're in this neck of the woods. read more
