You'd think from the news from local residents about severe disruption to their lives especially at night that gang warfare had moved in from North Dublin. In either case you'd be wrong it's much more sinister really as Krispy Kreme American doughnuts (as it says on the box) have arrived by way of a drive thru (and you can walk in too). Car parking has had to be rearranged and yes I found myself 26th in the queue of vehicles and waiting just over an hour to pay 25 euros (28 US dollars) for 12 plain and 12 mixed (including more plain ones) chosen for me by the donut/doughnut crew. I had a plain one and a jam one. The jam one felt really heavy with the jam so super sticky on my fingers I had to wash my hands as soon as it was gone. Both doughnuts tasted as awful as I remembered them in America with an unpleasant chewy texture and they were very sweet. The other 22 were shared around friends - most of whom agreed they wouldn't buy them. Co incidentally just the day before we had sampled Greggs jam doughnuts for the first time also. A far better tasting doughnut at less than half the price and no queue. As I write this review I hear that Krispy Kreme here will now close at night to prevent the late night disruption to the lives of residents - seriously google it - its only bloody doughnuts for Pete's sake.

The hype over this place is hilarious. Worth a visit if you like doughnuts. Not worth ridiculous…read morequeues for though. Staff are always polite & pleasant. If you get into the queue at the right time you might get a free freshly made hot doughnut. My favourite is the apple pie.

I knew immediately I wanted to try the Lemon Poppyseed and I also tried the Vanilla Glaze Pistachio flavor. Both were phenomenal!!! Each bite tasted like a piece of home. Honestly, The Rolling Donut reminds me of Dough in NYC and Brooklyn, my favorite donut spot. Sadly, I did not have an opportunity to go back and try the red velvet donut (with cheesecake filling). But whenever I go to Dublin again, this place will likely be my second stop! 5 stars well deserved.

I dropped by the Rolling Donut on my last day in Dublin. The store is very small and cute, with a majority of the space taken up by the long glass display, which houses their large selection of beautifully decorated donuts. After browsing over the different flavors, the attentive donutarian bagged my order of a single Lemon Poppyseed donut. While on layover in Frankfurt, I finally decided to roll into the lemon poppyseed donutiness... The donut was OK, it had a bready texture, which made sense, because it was a sourdough donut. The glaze on top of the donut was really thick, and it wasn't overly sweet to my taste buds. The glaze also had a light lemon flavor that provided some tartness, and just a few poppy seeds on top. As my friend had mentioned, their donuts are kind of big and filling for one person to eat alone, so I would definitely recommend sharing the love! (and calories)

If you're from the states, do yourself a favor and try these because the ingredients are far superior to anything you would find back home. I'll definitely be back tomorrow for more. The iced coffee was pretty good too. They have little tables to enjoy your donuts but we took them back to hotel. Service was standard.

It's a small shop, like very small shop so seating is more than extremely limited. That was OK since I knew we would be walking away eating. It's also fun to watch them making donuts right behind the glass in the store. Since there are not to many people inside at any one time and two people behind the counter they are very attentive. I also had a specialty coffee which they make on the spot. There is a great selection of fresh and delicious speciality doughnuts and a "Donut of the day" but we were too late for that. We left and continued our walk only to stop for a minute and use a pail as our table. These donuts are good.... I mean really good. Our need for sweet was satisfied and later I was disappointed that I did not bring back a few more to take on the ship with me. They had so many flavors and styles. Stop in if you're in the area. The space is simple with one side of the store lined with pastry and dessert cases where all the goods are held and served from. The rest of the space is seating and shelving for other packaged products. At the back there is a couple of windows giving you a view into the kitchen where the magic happens. Our visit here was between breakfast and lunch, so we grabbed a pear and apple tart to share. The tart was divine! The tart crust was flaky, yet sturdy while the filling was perfect consistency and featured the right amount of fruit. The cream on the side added a bit of texture and sweetness with each bite. Service was friendly and helpful from entry to exit. The space was well kept and clean. The staff was actively cleaning tables between guests. Overall, solid find in the Stillorgan Village Centre!

It makes me sound like an intrepid explorer, bravely overcoming all the elements and impossible climbs the Stillorgan shopping centre and mother nature can throw at me, but in truth, it is a little less dramatic. OK, a lot less, I parked the car and walked in to baked good heaven, my pictures do not do it justice. There is any amount of fresh breads, a little island in the middle with bakers decorating cakes and such an array of cakes, buns, éclairs and tarts that I could barely bring myself to make a choice. I settled for a cream filled doughnut, it was spectacular, huge and only 2 euro. Q wobbles out of shop, in a penguin like manner shouting "I'll be back!" to anyone who will listen. Children start crying. Q's belt starts crying. .
