Nice little café across the river from the Temple Bar neighborhood. Cute and clean inside; service was polite and quick. We LOVED their pancakes - light as air and fluffy - so delicious! Normal pancakes tend to sit weightily in the tummy, but these were not so! Highly recommend - we walked in at 11am and were seated and served right away.

Cute little place with an amazing array of tasty breakfast options. I absolutely loved the classic French Toast the first time I came and had to come back for more! A definite winner!!

I am a big fan of their focaccias. We came back few times to try different fillings and they were all great. I even got a few for our flight home. It's a cute place for breakfast and lunch. They have plenty of tables inside and few outside. I wasn't a fan of their lattes but everything else was good.

AMAZING! AMAING! AMAZING! I could not put my fork down while eating my pancakes, they were to DIE FOR. My chai latte was good too, just needed to order a smaller size. The orange juice was so fresh and amazing. Staff was friendly and attentive. It's so nice in there, it over looks the river! Beautiful, definitely recommend for breakfast!

On my very last stop before heading to the airport, I just wanted to pick up a pastry or two and be on my merry way. But in reality, I ended up doing breakfast here, and I have no regrets for doing so! After reading all the yelp reviews and looking up Panem online, I knew right away that I had to try their award winning Sicilian Almond Biscuits! Luckily it wasn't too hot of a morning, so there were NO insects flying around ready to pounce on all the delicious pastries behind the glass window display. I walk in, and this place is tiny with only a few stools to dine along the wall. Definitely not good for groups. Upon ordering, the nice young cashier (I believe her name was Brittney) gave me some interesting suggestions and I was on my way. I ended up ordering: ~ La Siciliana Focaccia (€4.80), made with spinach, tomato, and emmenthal cheese. Man, now this was pure JOY! The outer fresh bread was soft and light, and went really well with spinach and tomato. The cheese was swiss-like and was just enough that it won't ooze out of the pastry. Kinda like eating a ham-n-cheese croissant basically. ~ Hot milk chocolate mocha (€3.00), which was really really creamy and simply smooth tasting. Joy #2! You can't mess up hot chocolate. ~ Sicilian Almond Biscuit (€0.90 each) was just a blissful treat! Not your typical dry jumbo sized American biscuit that you'd think of, but more of a small 'almost bite-sized' delight! Lets just call it a 'two-bite delight'! What I also like about Panem is the fact that you can see them making all the baked goods right behind the main counter. Love places like this! I'll be back, and next time it'll be to try their chocolate salami. And I'll take this place over Queen of Farts, I mean Tarts, any day! Now, if you're planning an Ireland trip and also plan to do a bus tour or something, pick up a pastry or two from here. You'll thank me!

It's hard to say what exactly Panem is. Part cafe, bakery and deli, it's located on Ormond Quay, wedged between a coffee shop and a music shop. You might not notice it when you walk past because it's quite small and the shopfront is modest and plain. However, one whiff of the food and you'll be making a beeline to get inside. Intoxicatingly good smells emanate from Panem! This business bakes puff pastries, pizza and Italian sweets like croissants and chocolate salami (which is a dessert of chocolate and crushed biscuits). There's a small counter inside where you can sit (only three or four seats) and have lunch and a coffee. Prices are steep: for 9 Euros you can eat two puff pastries filled with grilled vegetables and Camembert cheese. These snacks were delicious but didn't fill me up and I could have easily spend 20 Euro more gorging on everything in the shop.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

It's a small shop, like very small shop so seating is more than extremely limited. That was OK since I knew we would be walking away eating. It's also fun to watch them making donuts right behind the glass in the store. Since there are not to many people inside at any one time and two people behind the counter they are very attentive. I also had a specialty coffee which they make on the spot. There is a great selection of fresh and delicious speciality doughnuts and a "Donut of the day" but we were too late for that. We left and continued our walk only to stop for a minute and use a pail as our table. These donuts are good.... I mean really good. Our need for sweet was satisfied and later I was disappointed that I did not bring back a few more to take on the ship with me. They had so many flavors and styles. Stop in if you're in the area.
