The Nest is a super cute cafe located in downtown Keyport. It is very family friendly (it even features a play room) with lots of kids menu options. You order at the counter, get a number, and your food is brought out to you. There are lots of great dishes on the menu including breakfast wraps, pancakes, risotto, and more. When we arrived, there was a line coming out of the garage door, so we assumed it was the line to get a table. Nope. It was the line to order food. We waited about 15 minutes before finding out that you're expected to know what you want to order, place your order, get a number, and then find seating, if there's any available. The whole process felt very chaotic and unorganized. It's a weird mix between a grab-and-go café and a dine-in restaurant. I'm not saying they necessarily have to choose one or the other, but the space just doesn't seem designed to comfortably accommodate both. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but it's first come, first served. My advice is to find a seat first, then figure out what you want to order. Have one person stay at the table while the other goes to order. Even then, though, the process feels unnecessarily chaotic. They really need to figure that part out. As for the food, the blueberry turnovers with vanilla gelato were underwhelming, and my gelato was already melted when it reached the table. The mushroom risotto with poached eggs was a pleasant surprise on the menu and actually tasted good, but it could have used more seasoning. It came across a little watered down. The steak and eggs were fine, but there was a pretty sad amount of eggs and meat for the price. The drinks were definitely the best part of the experience. Creative matcha and coffee options. The restaurant is kid and dog friendly, which is a nice option, but there isn't exactly a lot of space for either. There is a kids' room, but in my opinion, it's not the best use of the space. It seems like maybe two kids and their parents could comfortably fit in there, and it feels more like an aesthetic feature than something that's actually functional. Overall, there are some good things here, especially the drinks, but the combination of the layout, ordering process, and food-to-price ratio made the experience feel more chaotic than enjoyable. They're very kid-friendly and even have a small play area which I think is good for children 4 and under ( I think that is a nice touch if you're dining with little ones). They also have their own parking lot and outdoor seating area. We ordered the steak and eggs and the avocado toast. Both were tasty, but the steak portions were a bit smaller than I expected for the price. That said, everything was well prepared, and the rest of the menu looked really appealing. The food here is to die for!! This place is newer to the neighborhood and yesterday was our second time going. We were so glad to find a table outside on a holiday weekend. It is self seating and you order at a counter, then they bring the food out to you. We absolutely love coming here for brunch, lunch, sitting outside, and enjoying a nice sunny day!! The only complaint I had was the drinks took a very long time and by the time they came out our food had already come to the table, and then we had to hunt down silverware. But it was well worth it, the drinks and dishes were both great. Highly recommend the risotto! read more

I got a French toast latte which was 10/10 and a quiche which came with a side salad that was very good. Saw this place on Instagram and wanted to check it out since I was in the area. New place with a super cute vibe inside. You can also sit outside and eat. We got things to go. Got breakfast sandwiches and I liked the brioche roll. Also got the dirty bird latte and the French toast crunch latte which I loved. I don't think they put the cereal on top which was fine. But they put blue cold foam on it for the knicks which was cool. The woman taking our order was so helpful too. I've never been out in keyport before, but I would definitely come back. read more

The Nest on Broad is such a gem in Keyport! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our order came out quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious. I got the Cookie Butter Latte (not pictured), and it was absolutely amazing, definitely a must-try. The sandwich was so fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. We also tried the French Toast Crunch Latte and it was delicious! The atmosphere is another standout. The space is bright, clean, and spacious, both inside and outside, making it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Overall, a wonderful experience from start to finish. Came here for coffee but ended up staying for the food, and it completely won me over. The coffee was excellent, exactly what we were hoping for. But the food is what really stood out, way more flavorful than we expected from a coffee spot. We ended up trying a few different dishes off the menu and everything we ordered hit. Portions were generous too. Sitting outside made for a nice, relaxed vibe while we ate. Will definitely be back, and next time I'm coming hungry on purpose instead of by accident. read more

I have been here four times in the past week or so, so you might say I like it. I live in town, and this is definitely a bit more upscale than usual for breakfast around here, but quite honestly, the food backs it up. The Morning Glory Risotto ($17) is fantastic (I have had it three times), and I also got the pork roll sandwich ($12), which was amazing. Thin and crispy pork roll, just how I like it. They also have some great canned/bottled drinks. I had this cucumber soda ($3.75) the other day that was so refreshing. I do not drink coffee, so I can't speak to any of the brewed beverages. Nice vibe, good people. I could see this place getting very popular, so head on over before the secret is out. read more

My fiance and I went on a Tuesday around 11:00 A.M. and this place was so so busy, but the barista still found time to have small talk at the register. He got a breakfast sandwich and said it was as good as the regular bagel place we go to. I got the steak and eggs and was impressed I was able to order it rare as some places won't. We took it to go but I am very eager to go back and experience the food fresh inside their beautiful cafe setup. The location is great and the vibe is great even when it's busy. My husband and I wanted to love this place- and were extremely disappointed. Upon walking in, we waited at the register for a few minutes while the two employees were finishing their conversation. While we ordered, it was fine. Make sure to say if you want a different milk even if the menu says your choice, because we weren't asked. After we ordered, we waited a reasonable amount of time, just like any coffee shop. However, after we got our drinks, they weren't made completely. Both were missing the cold foams and toppings and I had said it and the barista ignored me. I then also had to ask for to go lids because it didn't come with them, and she looked at me like I was crazy for not knowing where they were. My husband also had a hair in his drink. Needless to say, staff wasn't great, drinks weren't made like they were on the menu, and we will not be back. Disappointed to say the least because we love keyport. read more
