Great little lunch place. You can sit outside on the big corner and watch the neighbors go by, or sit inside if you feel it's too warm out. Their Tina is really good. Everything is homemade with a limited menu, so it's consistent. The servers are attentive but it gets quite busy around lunchtime. Love love love this cafe....I have a few staple items I am hooked on you can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch. I will make mention of the fact that Tuesday thru Friday they only offer the lunch item on the menu and Saturday and Sunday the breakfast menu is the only one available. This popular haunt is a favorite amongst locals in the area so be mindful on the weekend especially when trying to get a table...it will be difficult but it's worth the wait. Amanda and Ashley are superb waitresses and make great recommendations if you're not sure what to get. Hudson cafe (during the week) has special items not on the menu. It's a casual comfortable place to people watch if you sit outside or just the perfect place to catch some sun (everyone loves these outdoor seats in the summer). This is my favorite breakfast spot in the area. If you come here, you absolutely have to try the banana bread french toast!!!! It is thick cut pieces of banana bread cooked up like french toast with a light maple syrup and fresh bananas over top. I do not come here without ordering it and I recommend it to everyone I know! I had the "Katelyn's Spiked Up Egg White Scramble," which was loaded with fresh veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, carmalized onions, and spinach) and a nice side serving of fresh fruit. I highly recommend the cold brew or the hot brewed coffee! I absolutely love the banana bread french toast, but you also can't go wrong with the different omelet options offered. I ordered the french onion grilled cheese which was the special of the day, and it was absolutely delicious. The onions were perfectly done and I'm just sad it's not on the normal menu to order again! The service is always great, and everyone is so friendly. The cafe is cute and gets very busy on weekends- for good reason! They don't take reservations, so going early will help you get seated faster! In nice weather it's also nice to be able to sit outside at the outdoor tables. Cool little place I visited with my sons on a work trip over the weekend. I could tell it was going to be good as I watched other guests being served their food. I'm dog sitting in New Jersey this week and am excited to try some new places! I ordered chili and chicken salad for my brunch combo! Both dishes were not as seasoned as I would've made at home and perhaps it's a regional or cultural thing. The turkey chili was hearty and homey though the meat was ground pretty fine. The texture wasn't unpleasant, just different, and the flavors were clean. The chicken salad was also clean flavored, and maybe that's where the fewer spices come in. The tomatoes were juicy and ripe and the lettuce crisp and fresh. The staff was very pleasant and hearing the Jersey accented chatter around the cafe was charming for this city Southerner. The place is clean and family friendly and they make a descent cup of coffee served with half n half in a creamer dish instead of 1/2 oz packets. A very nice cafe experience overall. read more

It's a family owned restaurant whom are nice and pleasant people. They have daily specials if you don't want anything on their menu. They serve salads, sandwiches, soups, and cold brew. I am a lifelong resident who I feel am late to the party here. Have had 4 weekend breakfasts there and I would say the best omelet's I have had out. Potatoes are awesome and I like no butter on my toast and they always get it correct. Coffee is good and hot and the portions are great. I'm not hard to please, yet I feel compelled to disagree with the consensus of this place. The portions are ginormous!! Is that a good thing, I'm not so sure. Breakfast plates are enough for 2 people to share. Nobody is interested in take home leftovers at breakfast. Secondly the concept is great the execution was lacking. We loved the banana bread French toast but it came swimming in syrup. Bad call kitchen staff there's no warning and it ruined the dish. The andouille omelette was also hard to bash but the sausage was over cooked and the caramelized onions were barely sautéed. Big let down. Breakfast was $30 bucks with tip and I felt cheated. Okay this place gets raves and I can't totally bash the food it was very good but not great which is what I expected. The real killer was the dining area, just too loud and crowded. At breakfast I want a chill atmosphere but I started getting stressed I've my inability to hear my girl from across the table. Equally getting your waitresses attention takes semi fore flags. C'mon just 1 napkin? You know the size of your meals you should offer drop cloths! So I give 3 stars, the food was acceptable to the average diner but for big city hotel prices I want better. Treat andouille with respect don't grill it and kill it. Take more time to make real caramelized onions (don't cheat). You don't have to douse your best dish with syrup. We are all capable of pouring it ourselves. Not certain I'll give this place a second chance. read more

I have to update my review to go up a star. We come here every weekend now for breakfast, it's probably our favorite spot in town. Honestly, I have an unhealthy obsession with their pancakes. Their omelettes too are just amazing, the Janine...oh man so good. The banana bread french toast, I mean c'mon. The service is always so friendly, helpful and they always recognize us and our daughter, it makes us feel at "home" and that is one of the main reasons we continue to come back. They know and appreciate their customers. My only wish is to add pork roll to the menu, but let's be real I don't need to be eating that too.
