This location is in a large shopping center, with plentiful parking. The interior is on the older side, slightly dingy, but it was clean enough. They seemed to have pretty much exactly what I remember: cheap tee shirts and accessories, books, games, inexpensive board games and toys, snarky magnets, crafts, posters, chips, candy, and other snacks. In the summer, I recall many pool toys and other outdoor goodies, and they seem to make a point of carrying a generous selection of seasonal/holiday treats and things. We were here about a half hour, and I wandered around without finding anything tempting. My nephew, of course, selected some fun toys, and others in my group picked out a few gifts as well as some nostalgic candy (there is a whole section of 10 and 25 cent sweets, so that's a great option for kids to pick a lil' something for themselves). They only had one employee working the cash register, and though it was not particularly busy, there were several other customers, so check out was not immediate. We marveled at the phenomenon wherein places from our memories (and really, just memories in general) seem so much better than the reality. How many times have you savored the idea of a particular dish only to, years later, finally taste it and find it....fine? That was certainly the situation here, and while it is still a fun enough little shop, and I can absolutely see the appeal for 12-16 year olds, it doesn't quite grab my adult attention so well.

The host for my scheduled slot was so nice and answered every question I had without a problem. They coach you every step of the way from beginning to end. From picking your scents to cooling and bagging your candle so you're comfortable throughout the process. The candle takes about 30 min - 1 hr to cool so you're able to explore the other restaurants and stores in downtown Temple. They also have wax melts, candle vessels, and other candle related things for sell as well. I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're ever in the mood to make a candle, check them out.

We could go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby for stamping gear but we love to visit the small shops & we are thrilled we visited Stamp Salado. The store is located right on Main Street in a very cute red cottage. The owner is such a pleasant lady, the store offers classes in store & plenty of stamping gear to buy, it does also have card stock & papers to pick from. The employee I dealt with was condescending from the first exchange -- not in a single moment, but consistently, as though it were policy. I left without completing my purchase. There are other local businesses in this area that earn the loyalty they ask for. This one did not. I won't return, and I can't recommend it.
