Then about eight years ago, I got hit with nerve pain after having surgery to "cure my migraines!" If it was not for Dr. Robbins and his expertise on how to deal with headaches and nerve pain, I would not be here writing this review. Dr. Robbins genuinely cares about his patients, he always takes the time to listen. Through his knowledge as a neurologist and a pharmacologist, we are able to control my pain through Botox injections and medication. I highly recommend Dr. Robbins if you suffer from any sort of head pain. He is rated as one of the top ten headache specialists in the country. His staff is extremely caring too! I vote Dr. Robbins staff as #1 in the country! So,you are in good hands. You can read up on Dr Robbins @ HeadacheDrugs.Com.

He helped me to get most of my functioning back, and got my chronic pain under control far beyond the level that any other doctor was able to. My wife and I are so grateful to Dr. Robbins, for all the things he has been able to do for us over the years. As he is currently retiring, we will greatly miss him, and many of his staff. Paul

Lumbar spinal disc degeneration is no fun. One of the worst things you can do if you have this…read morecondition is participate in high impact sports such as running. I used to run 25 to 30 miles a week and did this for about 8 years. Unknowingly at the time, my lumbar spine and hips took a beating. I received a lumbar spinal fusion in 2001, and had complications (lumbosacral root disorder, hip spine syndrome and arthritis). Those complications led to my falling and sustaining 5 concussions (post concussion syndrome) in the last 2 years, and using a walker and a cane for mobility. Dr. Eric Ericson is my neurologist. I selected him after researching his credentials, which are outstanding. We also share the same alma mater (Go Cats!) so I felt comfortable immediately with him. What I like most about him is he listens and is supportive. The brain MRI results enabled him to create a plan tailored to my needs. With all of the falls, I've developed PTSD and painfully intense hip problems, too. I'm receiving hip injections, physical therapy, and massage and psychological counseling. Some days I want to throw in the towel, but my care team and family have been so supportive that there is no way I could ever let them down. I'm still climbing the mountain to recovery and know it will be strenuous at times, but I'm in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Ericson and his staff because they not only know their stuff, but they really care. Yes, they care.

Unfortunately, the experience became even worse because of the receptionist, Olga. From the start, her tone was rude and dismissive. I am authorized to schedule appointments for my father, and while trying to do so, she repeatedly asked me for insurance codes and terminology I wasn't familiar with. I explained that I had the insurance information and referral, and that most offices simply verify the details themselves. Instead of helping, she continued speaking in insurance jargon and placed me on hold multiple times. At one point, she told me she couldn't access the insurance information herself. Minutes later, she somehow had all of my father's insurance information available through the referral that had already been sent. The entire conversation was unnecessarily confusing and frustrating. She then accused me of being rude. I was not rude--I was direct because I was on a short break at work and simply trying to get an appointment scheduled. There is a difference. What happened next was the most concerning part. After providing my father's information, I was told they would not be scheduling or seeing him because of my alleged behavior toward the receptionist. I was shocked. This is a neurology office where patients often wait months for appointments and are dealing with serious medical issues. Caregivers already have enough on their plates without being treated this way. Before writing this review, I read other reviews and noticed multiple complaints about rude front desk staff. Based on my experience, those concerns appear to be valid. I cannot speak to the quality of the doctor because we were never given the opportunity to become patients. The physician may be excellent, but the front office experience was so unprofessional that my father was effectively denied access before ever being seen. Very disappointing.

Whoa! What a horrible experience I just had with Dr. Khan's office. In April, I called to set up…read moremy first appointment with the doctor. His office said he had none available until July 29th, then not until late August. Because I have a timely issue I need addressed, I took the appointment 3.5 months into the future, and rescheduled my planned vacation. Fast forward to today... The doctor's office left me a message that Dr. Khan would not be in the office on July 29th (I guess he schedules his own vacations less in advance than I do), and I would have to reschedule my July appointment. When I contacted Brittany, Northwest Urology's receptionist, she told me they were booked through mid-October -- six months after I scheduled my original appointment. When I told Brittany that was unacceptable, and that I would need an appointment in June or July, she took an attitude. She had the temerity to blame ME for taking the appointment her office would ultimately cancel by saying, "You didn't HAVE to reschedule your vacation. You could have taken the August appointment!" I asked her to have an administrator or Dr. Khan call me himself to reschedule prior to August, but all Brittany could muster in a sarcastic way was, "I hope you have a NICE day!" I'm actually glad this happened. While writing bad reviews on several sites for Dr. Khan's office, I discovered Dr. Khan has a number of one and two star reviews. One site (maybe it's this one), had him rated with only 2.9 stars (before my review). Whether Brittany is rude to all of the doctor's patients, or if Dr. Khan is a poor doctor, is of no matter to me anymore. Going here for treatment and entrusting my brain to this guy and his office help is ALREADY a dicey proposition! If I could leave a 0 star review, I would.

My husband tried 3 times this week to get an appointment with the Libertyville office. The receptionist (same person each time) was incredibly rude, disrespectful and very unwilling to help. She should be fired and I cannot believe that this person would be allowed to work there based on this experience. This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced with a healthcare company. I called for my husband not too long ago today and she rudely hung up on me while I was - very nicely may I add - explaining how much pain my husband was in, and that there is a technology issue with receiving information via fax to get an appointment scheduled. There is something wrong with this person. My husband's doctor faxed paperwork over 3 different times this week and they are telling us they are not getting it - hence why I was hoping for an alternative way to receive the paperwork needed to get the appointment. Seems they do not care much for patients or trying to assist with resolving any issues like this that come up. At this point, I'm not even sure I want my husband in the care of this place. A simple test was all that was needed to get scheduled, if they cannot even get that right, how can we trust their medical services too?
