I'm really happy that my best friend introduced me to New Town Tailor. I got my jeans hemmed and waist taken in. It took one week to get them done. I've never been to a tailor before, but I think that this was a pretty good timeframe. By coincidence these jeans were taken care of just in time for me to wear on a date! The waist was fit perfectly. Not too tight or too loose. The length was just as discussed, still baggy but not dragging. They were wonderful! Having lost a considerable amount of weight and not wanting to replace an entire wardrobe, I chose to have many items refitted to my new size and shape. A few jackets, vest, blouses and dresses and pants. I am so happy everything fits better than ever before. Each price was tailored perfectly to me. This was a huge savings considering the quality of the clothing to begin with. I took in a few pieces at a time and was very pleased each time I picked up. This wasn't cheap. I wasn't sure where to take my bridesmaids dress for alterations, but I was very lucky to find this business. They were very quick and helpful. I took my dress in on a Thursday, and the lady who helped me got it pinned within ten minutes. I'm new in town and I needed a couple of suit pants tailored by the next day, and didn't know where to go. I found this place on here and decided to give them a call. The lady said they could do it by next day, but I would have to take the pants over to them ASAP. I went, they did the fitting on me and left them there. Great experience. I bought expensive jeans that ended up being way too long. The ladies here hemmed them perfectly for me for $25. Kind of pricey, but well worth it so my jeans don't go to waste. Eh. So I tooks 2 levis in fo a hem but didnt get good results back. She asked me if I wanted a hem like the original stitching was and I say YES but when I got em back they look funky. I won't return. They had my pants for a week and when I went back at the day and time she said to wait until they weren't ready. I even stopped in earlier in the day and she said come back at 4 pm. When I arrived I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to make the alterations (surprise surprise) as the weren't ready yet. I was handed the pants on the hanger to take with me. I asked if I could try them on and she pointed to the changing room. The pants weren't taken in enough and she needed to sew more. Glad I tried them on. Even after the second stitching they still puckered. When I dropped off the pants she said $20 to take them in, cash only. read more

This is a fantastic little tailor. I was in town for one week and needed work on my Ju-Jitsu Gi. I only had three days to get alternations made and The New Town Tailor handled this with no problem. They used the strongest threads available which are important as my Gi is getting pulled on constantly during competition. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

I always need to have my pants hemmed because I am just too short. They do not sell pants for my size. The Town Tailor is where I have been going to the last few years to fix this problem. Costs $8 for the hemming. Service is always good. Job is always done on time. No complaints, they are just good. read more

Go somewhere else. I had a TINY bit of my dress taken in and it cost me $70. The alteration was more than the price of my dress! They only accept cash (which seems a bit sketchy) and they are super rude!!! The location is pretty crappy too. Dressing rooms (if you even want to call them that) don't lock. They didn't steam the dress to get rid of the wrinkles either. I figured for $70 they'd go ahead and do that really quickly. I have nothing positive to say about this place. I needed a place to do a simple alteration on my wedding dress. A friend suggested this place because she had taken her bridesmaids dresses here and the seamstress did a good job. When I went in, the lady (I'm assuming the owner) said they do work on wedding dresses. So I put the dress on in the rickety "dressing room" [which is not private at all] and she pinned the sides where it fit me too big. The dress fit great with the pins in and I was hopeful my dress would fit me perfect for my wedding. She told me to return one week later for my dress. The next week I called on the day she told me to and she said "I thought it was next week?" What?? She's the one who told me one week. Then she says "OK come in tomorrow" strike 1. My sister and I go in to pick up my dress. I'm glad I tried the dress on in the shop because, IT DID NOT FIT!! The lady was too busy to address the issue because other people came in and she was busy with them. We finally showed her the dress wouldn't even close. She then says whoever measured it did it wrong. IT WAS HER!! I told her she did it. Then she couldn't come up with an excuse to why it didn't fit and proceeded to tell me I needed to come in a week before my wedding. That has nothing to do with why my WEDDING dress does not fit me now!! So I paid her $55 [I felt like I shouldnt have] and now I need to take it in to have the zipper removed and a corset back put it. Now a simple alteration has turned into a $200 job. I cannot express how dissatisfied, disappointed, and angry I am. I trusted this person to fix my wedding dress. This is a very important garment that I had to save to purchase. I will never go here again and I will never refer them to anyone I know. Shame on her for doing terrible work and not even taking responsibility for what she did. read more

I am very disappointed with their service. I always go there for alteration.8-12 pants each time and never had any problem until last week! I brought maybe abour 12 pants to be hemmed and I already paid the full amount in advance. I asked the lady when can I pick it up and she said next Wednesday which was a week which was yesterday! I told her, I will pick it up on the 20th instead because I was working two nights on a row! The lady misunderstood me thinking that I will pick it up on January 20th! Why would I pay in advance $133 if I don't need those pants done ASAP? She was the one who made the mistake not me! The other lady was very rude when I called her today that I am going to pick them up this afternoon! She said they cannot do it because they are busy! They had those pants for more than a week now and they didn't do it thinking I will pick rhem up on January 19th instead of December 19th! read more

Let out suit pants; more complex than common job; very fast; reasonably priced. They look good and fit better.
