We've stayed at Edition hotels all over the world, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience we've had with the brand. The property itself is beautiful--the lobby and common areas have that signature Edition style we love. But once we got to the room, it was a huge letdown. The space felt run down, with worn furnishings and finishes that didn't live up to the brand's usual standards. The bathroom was especially disappointing--the shower head was broken, which made it frustrating to use. For the price and the reputation of Edition hotels, the quality here simply didn't measure up. Service was polite, but when the room feels this neglected, it overshadows everything else. Really disappointing compared to other Edition properties we've enjoyed around the world.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at The New York EDITION this past week. From 1909 - 1913 this clock tower was the tallest building in New York, and has been remodeled into a beautiful hotel with facilities including a Hotel-run spa, Lobby Bar at the New York EDITION, and Clocktower Restaurant. For my husband and I however, the Lobby Bar at the New York EDITION, and staff were the highlight of our stay. All the mixologists - Mateo, Ishmael, Saul, & Ian, are true cocktail experts and treat their craft like the art it is. Whether you order something on-menu (the menu is already carefully designed by the bartending staff), or give them creative control to create a catered experience you're sure to savor every sip! Also special shoutouts to Alex, Kimberly, Mary, Hans, Kathia, and all the other service staff whose welcoming demeanor make you feel at home! Everyone has a wealth of information about things to do and enjoy around the city, and we followed up on many of their recommendations. Overall I would recommend staying here, but even if you don't, stop in at the Lobby Bar at The New York Edition. Drinks may be a bit on the pricier side, but honestly comparable to the prices we saw in the surrounding area, and you're getting quality drinks and immaculate vibes. The lunch menu, and bites menu are pretty good too! I enjoyed the fries (customizable by adding Parmesan, and/or truffle), and the crab cake bites, both served with a delectable spicy mayo sauce!

The New York Edition on Madison is honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, everything just felt elevated. The location alone is incredible you're truly in the center of everything. We walked to Central Park one day and all the way down toward the financial district the next. It made exploring the city so easy. The staff was amazing throughout our entire stay. Anything we needed, they were on it, and they made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. The rooms were a huge highlight too spacious, modern, spotless, and the beds were insanely comfortable. We had a room with park views, which made waking up in the morning feel extra special. I do wish the windows were a little bigger, and the room was on the darker side. A couple of recessed lights would go a long way. There was also a master switch that controlled lights that weren't exactly nearby, which was a bit odd, and the handheld shower head had a mind of its own at times and would swivel toward the door when you turned the water on. None of these were deal breakers though more small quirks than anything else. Oh I did forget to mention that they do have mini fridges with items for sale inside, which is great but given we're tourists we would have loved to have had an empty fridge to put our food, leftovers, medication etc in lieu of what's there now. That was a major bummer. Everything else about the hotel outweighed those things though. The staircase leading down to the restaurant is honestly an architectural masterpiece one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a hotel. The elevators were a little funky at first, but once you figure out how they work, it's smooth sailing. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation. The service, the location, the comfort it all came together perfectly. Truly an amazing hotel and a memorable experience.

Had a great stay recently at The New York Edition. I was surprised I was able to check in early. I was also upgraded to a suite and it was so nice! Shout out to Andrea for the hookup! The room itself was gorgeous. There was a Queen bed (no issue for me), large sitting area, and large desk as well. Bathroom had both a tub and shower next to it (kind of like a wet room). Gorgeous views of Madison Square Park too. I was given a given $50 spa credit and $35 bar credit. However it had to be used that day. Really appreciate the bar had non alcoholic drink options that were tasty. I ordered a tuna tartare to bring up to my room but found it a bit salty. Location is amazing. Right next to Madison Square Park and the subway is nearby. You're also near Ktown and Union Square. I definitely see myself coming back again for another visit

    Filthy rug so gross

The biggest turn offs were the greasy fingerprints on all the doors, the filthy rug in the room and the faux fur throw on the bed that looked 20 years old. Definitely feels like a weathered party hotel for $1600 a night!

TLDR; lovely hotel, excellent service, great location near Madison Square Park. Service - I was most surprised by the service at this hotel. I stayed for 5 days and received turn down service every night along with fresh towels and water bottles. Room - spacious with beautiful architectural details and a lovely view of Madison square park. I was given an ADA compliant room on the 4th floor (because I wanted to check in early) and it was a great choice! My ONLY complaint is that I found the area by the door and only full length mirror incredibly dark. Making it a little difficult to use that mirror. Location - perfect! Directly across from Madison square park which I enjoyed walking through every morning. A wide variety of food options within a 10 minute walk. I was staying here for a work trip so I can't speak to the value but I really enjoyed my stay.

Had the opportunity to have two nights at one of their suites. Impressive views with an adjacent park to the hotel. Close to many great restaurants. Great vibes and good crowd for younger folks who is willing to spend on good accomadations without it being stuffy.

I'm a Marriott gal and this was the nicest Marriott with the best rate that I could find for 4th of July weekend. I wasn't quite sure about the location, but when I arrived realized it was located right next to my old work office so I had been there many times. It's too bad that office is no more or I would be staying here all the time! We arrived in the city at 9am and I didn't expect to be able to check in our room for many hours, but they weren't at capacity for the weekend and we got lucky. The room itself was small (like most NY rooms), but good enough for me and my son...and a lovely view of the city/Empire State building. The gym was adequate with all necessary equipment including peloton bikes. The elevators were a little on the slow side, but I did like how the # system basically brought you straight to your room. Everyone who works here was super nice. We never got housekeeping since they didn't arrive until evening and we were already back from dinner, but that was fine for our 2 night stay. They gave us a $30 bar credit and $50 spa credit, which we also never got around to using but have a feeling we would have ended up spending more. When I took my daughter a few years ago we stayed at the ritz in Central Park. I think I preferred that location. This was fine and allowed us to walk to most locations. We made a rule that we would walk if under 25 min and if not, Uber made transporting around the city super easy.

I have stayed at a-lot of the 5 star hotels in the City and The Edition is probably one of my favorite stays. The stunning loft ceilings were beautiful and the room was very spacious and clean. The views were excellent with no outside noise. Room service was quick and hospitable along with we really enjoyed the lobby bar during our stay. I highly recommend staying at this property when visiting the City. The bath products were le labo and had such a lovely fragrance.

Came here for a drink to close out our night. The employees are soo friendly! I noticed they really do care about the safety of those staying at the hotel. The drink I had was perfect, very fruity just how I asked. The presentation was cute too. The little square cheese cracker chips that remind me of cheeze-it's in the metal tins are a cute touch. Really appreciated having those as I was drinking all day and all night. But people also love those cute snacks to have. It was a fun time!

    Denise W.

Note: that we only came here for drinks and did not stay at this hotel during our visit in NYC. When you first walk into the hotel, the first thing you see is a nice bar lounge. Prices are on the higher end. This is a Mariott hotel. The washrooms are clean. You need to walk through the lounge area before heading to the check-in counter which is a very strange layout. The Mitchelin star restaurant Clock Tower is located at this hotel. We also came dine in here as well. The food at Clock Tower was super delicious. It is a nice hotel located across from Madison Park

Beautiful hotel across the street from Madison Square Park. The lobby is a sea of comfy cream sofas and lounge chairs. Rooms are well appointed per usual with Le Labo bath products and comfortable beds.

    Candle without signature scent.

Easily one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in the past few years. Fortunately, I was on business for the week and it was comped by my company (who got a discount) so I'm not sure I'd splurge as much out of my own pocket for a week here (maybe a night or two), but for what it was, it was still an immaculate experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the room was extremely comfortable, and all the amenities were amazing--they even brought up an electric kettle when I requested it. I honestly have zero complaints and that's rare for how picky i can be with hotels! I have high standards and this exceeded them. It also smelled AMAZING and that's huge. And the turn down service was a nice touch. It is also a super convenient location across from Madison Square Park and a ton of shops and restaurants. Very easy to get picked up and dropped off at as it is tucked away a bit and away from a ton of traffic. Would absolutely check out their other locations and recommend to anyone visiting NYC.

Held at the beautiful rooftop garden at Rockefeller Center overlooking St. Patrick's Cathedral, the setting alone was worth the trip. As the sun set behind the Manhattan skyline, guests were treated to an evening that felt equal parts whiskey education, culinary experience, and celebration of American craftsmanship. The WhistlePig team put together an outstanding lineup of cocktails and rare whiskey pours, each thoughtfully paired with a multi-course dinner. Every course felt intentional, from the beautifully presented appetizers and seasonal produce to the perfectly cooked beef course and creative dessert finale. The food wasn't just an accompaniment to the whiskey it stood on its own. One of the highlights of the evening was host Max Miller of Tasting History. His storytelling added depth and context to each pour, connecting American history, whiskey culture, and the culinary experience in a way that kept the entire table engaged. What impressed me most was the attention to detail. The tablescape, service, pacing, glassware, cocktail program, and overall guest experience were executed flawlessly. Nothing felt rushed, and every element contributed to the story of the evening. WhistlePig continues to prove why they are one of the most innovative names in American whiskey. This wasn't simply a tasting event it was an immersive experience that celebrated history, hospitality, and craftsmanship at the highest level. Why, stop by the Holiday Home of course!! Held in a historical mansion on the Upper East Side of New York City, come prepared to be inspired and enchanted as you walk through the house, each room designed by a different interior designer, to a different holiday theme (think, New Year's Eve, St Pattys, Christmas etc) or special moment in life. Every single room here is SO gorgeous, with furniture from some of the most luxurious brands in the world. As I walked through the rooms, I imagined what it would be like to live in a house like this, a life of luxury, with cocktails at 3 and constant dinner parties. And if you're one of the lucky few who can actually afford to live in a house like this, then the Holiday Home would serve as a life sized inspiration board for you... You get a catalog at the entrance and it serves as a reference to any piece of furniture displayed in the house. The designers themselves are also there in their respective rooms and are more than happy to talk to you about their work / offer to come design your house (if that's what you're looking for). It is a $35 entrance fee that goes towards the Breast Cancer Foundation, though, even if it didn't, so worth it getting to spend an afternoon in the shoes of an Upper East Sider. Lastly, everyone's so incredibly nice (you'd expect them to be snooty but there are absolutely no airs here), though, I would dress nice and perhaps not show up in sweats if I was gonna go. Haha. There is also an adorable little heated courtyard cafe that serves up ready made sandwiches, teas and (not so yummy) macaroons. But very nice and pretty to sit at. All in all, one of my favorite things we did in New York this past trip! Perfect for getting into the holiday mood (:
