So I decided to try West Coast since I live in North County. The office staff and Doc's assistant were friendly and communicated far better than I have ever experienced in other OSA offices. After being diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) earlier this year, I became depressed at the notion of a lifetime of CPAP dependency. A very good friend of mine died from lung complications made far worse by his CPAP dependency, he was 39 years old. As that terrible experience really hit home with me and as I'm in my early 40's with a beautiful Wife and Children, I knew I had to address this eventual lethal condition and own it (IT WILL eventually take your life or your memory, please don't fool yourself and get treated). After scouring the numerous OSA therapies on the market, it became immediately obvious that the most palatable (no pun intended) and safe therapy was mandibular repositioning. My Mother had heard a radio spot about West Coast Sleep Solutions and recommended I give them a call (you don't argue with Italian mothers ;). When I first contacted West Coast Sleep Solutions, I was greeted by Glenda (Office Manager), Glenda immediately impressed me with her willingness to actually listen to my case and answer all of my questions that she could (and I ask A LOT of questions :). She then quickly and expertly navigated me to Dr. Omer Anisso. After my consultation with Dr. Anisso, I knew I had chosen the correct dental sleep clinic and physician to address my VERY SEVERE sleep apnea (AHI 77 on my back!! - AHI of 27 overall or moderate OSA). In my particular line of work, I have to be razor sharp all of the time and the effects of OSA were taking a remarkable toll against the standards I hold myself to. First and foremost Dr. Anisso made me feel comfortable. Next he expertly answered all of my questions. Remarkably, like Glenda, I noticed he was really willing to listen to me and spend time with me. I have never once felt rushed, pushed, or unattended. Once Dr. Anisso and I determined a treatment plan, he wasted no time and went to work. He meticulously photographed my airway (X-RAY) and took precise measurements of my mouth. Next he took very careful impressions of my teeth (I have found this is critical to getting a mandibular repositioning device [MRD]) all the while making me feel comfortable. After a few weeks, I was fitted with my high tech ResMed Narval CC MRD. Dr. Anisso took lots of time to explain the process of titration and what steps were needed to achieve maximum comfort and efficacy. Again, he never made me felt rushed or hurried, was always pleasant and smiling (great sense of humor), and always made me feel welcome. After a few adjustments over a month's time, I achieved the "Sweet Spot", a term Dr. Anisso uses to describe the perfect setting of an MRD for each patient whereby the patient achieves maximum efficacy with maximum comfort (tolerability). Not only did my AHI effectively drop down under 10 on my side's, my O2 saturation (arguably the most important stat) improved substantially to an average of 90% or higher. That number is made more impressive as it was measured while accounting for me sleeping on my back and sides collectively whereby my AHI is worsened substantially on my back. I believe my O2 sat is even better than 90% when only sleeping on my sides. To help with this, Dr. Anisso recommended the combined therapy of the MRD and positional sleep therapy by way of a cheap and effective product known as the 'SlumberBUMP' (combined the results are amazing). In closing, Dr. Anisso treated my OSA and scientifically measured the results to eliminate subjectivity and to tune my treatment for maximum benefit. My snoring is gone, I don't yawn in the morning at all (not until night time as normal), I am sharp again, alert, and my energy is excellent. It's just a night and day difference. Heart palps are gone too. In the end, I judge people on what they do, not what they say, and Dr. Anisso and team are the real deal. She was unnecessarily rude to him, which made me unsure if I should even stay. But I did. When it was finally kinda-sorta my turn (the receptionist was still berating the old man), she acted put-out by my presence and asked her co-worker if he could figure out why I was there. So the co-worker (an RT, maybe?) took me back to a room where I explained my situation. He was able to assist me. When he left the room to take a paper somewhere, the receptionist grilled him: "Why is she here?" (like I'm an intruder), "She doesn't have an appointment." (um, actually, the main Sleep Data office had told me to go to this location at this time), "What does she want?" (am I that much of a bother?). I was a potential new customer. But you can bet I will not be stepping foot into this location again. Make the drive to the Sleep Data in Kearny Mesa, and you'll see what real customer service and apnea/CPAP expertise is all about.

I joked that it felt like a business class international flight--I stayed in a clean, private space with a lay-flat bed; enjoyed a hot meal (they generously offered to warm up my burrito in the microwave for me); and spent the 21 total hours either sleeping in cool darkness or working on my laptop. I spent the night and next day in Room #1, which came with freshly laundered clean sheets, a comfortable Queen sized air mattress, and a huge TV equipped with a Roku remote for Netflix and other options. There are two light settings (bright overhead lights and soft bedside lamp) and the A/C was crisp and pleasantly cold throughout my stay. I recommend you bring a choice of cool & warm PJs with comfortable zip-up jacket (no hoodies, due to wires being used) if you get cold! I slept overnight in shorts (to accommodate for wires on my knees) but wore joggers the next morning for my MSLT nap tests. I arrived with slightly damp, clean hair and a bunch of hair ties, which helped immensely with the 6 wires that needed to attach on my scalp. (Swing by Target and buy a cheap clarifying shampoo to get the gooey gunk off easily in the shower! You may want a baseball cap or something to wear out of the facility if you care.) Both Kelly and Landon commuted from the Riverside location this week and I am grateful I ended up on their technician shift. They are wonderful professionals with great, friendly bedside manner and helped me sail through the study comfortably. Kelly got me checked-in and settled for the overnight portion and Landon very patiently attached and re-attached all the nodes for my daytime MSLT test. They checked in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed and I felt very attended to at every point. To be honest, the friendliness of the technicians mattered most to me and probably will to others too, because of how big of an impact your interactions with pleasant, warm people will have on your overall willingness to relax and sleep in an unfamiliar setting. Kelly & Landon made a huge difference in my experience. SWC would do well to appreciate their techs and do whatever it takes to make them feel valued and recognized appropriately! Overall, I had an excellent time and couldn't recommend having your sleep study done at this Escondido location more. Vanessa was also the person responsible for processing my referral from my neurologist and got me set up very smoothly via phone and email with the paperwork and directions to the facility. This place is run by a great team of pros!

All attempts to contact them have failed. No response from email or medical records request service on the website, phone calls go un-answered. Yet, I've been billed for this service. You would think the lab results would have been completed and submitted. Nope. Payment will be refused until lab results have been submitted. And a hearty THANK YOU for having me start this whole process over again and losing my insurance benefit as my deductible will reset at the beginning of the year.

When my husband and I met her in person, we felt reassured and excited to have her by our side as we approached our due date. Dara was always available and easily accessible throughout the pregnancy for questions and provided me with an incredible amount of evidence-based childbirth information to help guide my birth plan and help me feel that much more prepared.
