It's Valentine's Day, and my date is Netflix and a bag of cookies. I figure, what the heck, my evening already looks like a stoner's paradise and pot is legal in WA. When you wallow, you just have to give the wallow everything you've got. The Novel Tree reviews were glowing, so I headed out. The store is easy to find in a high trafficked part of Bellevue. Walking in, it is bright, airy and full of beautiful wood décor. The staff are very friendly in a welcoming, inviting way. The guy at the counter helped me figure out what to get as I'm effectively a newbie, teaching me the difference between indica and sativa, and what to expect with edibles. He answered my questions about the different types of highs, how long the highs last, and any safety precautions I should take. I bought a package of indica brownies and spent the evening becoming one with my couch. Outstanding wallow! I strongly recommend The Novel Tree for first timers. read more

Okay, I will preface this by saying that I have not been to any other legal pot shops. Yes, I know, I should. I had actually planned to go to several different local shops before deciding on my favorite. But the first shop on my list was The Novel Tree, and the fact that I keep coming back should tell you everything you need to know. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. They seem to love answering all my questions. I'm usually pretty shy, but I feel so comfortable and welcome here. There is no pressure to spend lots of money, but I always accidentally do. I can't help it, their selection is just too amazing! They post a lot of the prices on their Leafly page, but they also have printed menus at the tables and counters in the shop. I gush about this place to all my friends. I love the creative and welcoming atmosphere of the shop, but honestly it is the super awesome staff that keep me coming back. This has become my go to store and the bar by which I measure others. The Novel Tree scores super well on pricing beating every single Rec store on the eastside. They have specials very frequently, and they are fast to let you know about them. On top of that The Novel Tree has put a lot of time and effort into hosting events with growers and all sorts of stuff. Today they had a table setup to teach customers how to roll and were giving out little glass tips to anyone who rolled with them! (lots of fun) If you are anywhere near Bellevue and you like a smoke, this store should be top of your list to try. Today was the first time I've ever purchased cannabis legally, and I'm grateful to have done so at the Novel Tree. I felt totally welcome there and didn't want to leave. I met with a very helpful guy at the counter named John. I was excited that he could offer up 3.5 grams of Afghan #1 to me - which is the reason I picked this store in the first place; no other store in the area has this particular strain. John also suggested that I purchase 1.3 grams of Hawaiian Dream which was exactly what I needed. I also got a pipe. These guys love to talk pot, and I was excited to be in the presence of like minded people. The store is in a perfect location, I am stoked that it's only a few miles from home! They have a great selection/variety of products, I'm usually buying flowers and I always get great advice, never feel rushed or pressured. This shop by far is my favorite. --They consistently have deals and prices that NEVER make you feel as if you need to sacrifice a dime for quality marijuana --So far 100% on point with any strain they have recommended to me --A fair sized stock of pipes and accessories, including a few very neat looking ones (don't forget to check out their Kraken pipes!) --Down to earth, friendly staff. This is a great place with reasonable prices! The staff are friendly, helpful, in cheerful moods and usually can provided great recommendations. They have a decent selection of bud and edibles so we always hsve options depending on our mood. Yesterday my boyfriend and I went in having a general idea of what we wanted to get. Erida helped us. She was very nice and prompt in getting what we specifically asked for. We left happy with our purchase. My boyfriend mentioned that she's not his favorite bud-tender when he goes in because she doesn't really talk to you other than to get you what you ask for. I agreed; there was no friendly small talk, recommendations on other bud or forthcoming info about their current sales. She stood there while we told her what we wanted, she grabbed it and we went on our merry way. Of the two weed stores in Bellevue, this one has me so impressed! I only purchase flower, and i trust their growers and their growing process. They have a new person at the front door almost every time i come in, but everyone is so friendly. Not all of the tenders know their bud, and you can tell - but they have great customer service. Being from MI, I was overwhelmed with the idea of all the options and strains at dispensaries in WA, but there is no reason for any Anxiety at the Novel Tree. Immediately I was greeted and given a "tour" of the small venue, which has the look and feel of a Zen place. Everyone was so kind and started actual conversation rather than simply doing customer service to get me out the door. Signed up for the loyalty program and made a small purchase - all done fast and easy. Everyone was so friendly and all the herbs looks green and fresh. I hate this place. I used to be a regular customer, but I'd rather drive to Have A Heart in Bothell for better service, prices, and overall experience. They don't treat regular customers with respect and you would be missing out other products due to high prices.
