Chris was our sales rep and did a great job helping us find what we wanted. Or at least what I thought we wanted.... Made the purchase for $2000 and set up delivery options. A month later we get the call that it's time , the loveseats are ready. Yay!! Happy days.... Wrong. So the delivery drivers show up and go about their business removing our old sectional couch and bringing in the new loveseats. As they are putting these things together I'm noticing some things, the pieces aren't lining up properly and there are gaps and other issues that are visible and then the installers can't get the backs of the chairs to clip in securely. They are telling me that these parts aren't right and possibly defective. Dammit! So I decide not to accept delivery on these and get a phone call from Chris telling me that they wont charge me a restocking fee if I come in to get a refund. Really? A restocking fee on defective parts? WTF? So I go in and they tell me they got it all figured and and everything is good. I ask to see the units and immediately can see that they have lied right to my face about this. Grab the back of the loveseat and with very minimal effort pull the whole thing apart . I just look at him and say this is what you call all better then I look at the other loveseat right next to it and grab a hold of that one and what do you know the whole back just comes right off that one as well. By this point some other manager comes and and basically is telling me that for $900 a loveseat this is the quality you get. Now that's some bullshit! So I'm asking for a full refund which they give me but not before making me feel like this is my fault. Horrible customer service from the manager and a lack of education on how to deal with a problem like this. Needless to say I will never do business here again and would suggest everyone who sees this to look elsewhere. Poor management and even worse product. Good day all

In addition to the numerous designs of virtually anything you could want in wood furniture, they also have some art, beautiful tiles, kitchen accessories, children's keepsake toys, I say keepsake because they're classic in design and pretty indestructible. We purchased a wooden nativity scene one year so I wouldn't have to worry about the grandkids playing with the sheep and other characters in the set. It's become a much loved family tradition. My husband and I bought really beautiful kitchen stools several years ago and then moved into a new house where their height became too tall. We brought them into the Joinery and asked them if they could modify the height by taking off part of the legs. They were able to do that and then made us 2 more at the revised lower height to go with our originals. Taking it one step further, they made our originals look like new by lovingly removing the scratches and dings that had developed over the several years of use. You couldn't tell the new from the old. The customer service is great, very knowledgeable, professional, passionate about their product and friendly to work with. The Joinery is definitely pricey, but the pieces definitely make if worth saving and planning for.

My last purchase, which lost my enthusiasm for The Joinery, was the Studio Writing Desk. Nicely finished but for you wood workers out there, using pocket-hole joinery is what Ikea uses as you know, yes I said it, Ikea. While a strong joint, pocket-hole joinery is far from mortise and tenon, dove-tail, or at the very least, a biscuit joinery. These are all what you should expect at this price point. Pocket hole joinery, is cheap, easy, ugly and fast.

We went from store to store in the Portland-Beaverton-Tigard area and every place were sold out with a minimum 3 week lead time. We were about to give up until we happened to see an ad on FB marketplace for the couch we wanted! At first we were a little confused if this was an independent seller or an actual furniture shop. We messaged him through FB and he responded almost immediately. Hollywood Rooms is a furniture shop with a show room that is small/medium sized compared to big box stores. Jeff was very friendly, answered all our questions about the furniture, and was very familiar with his inventory. The couch itself was $200 CHEAPER than the big box stores and in stock! We didn't ask him about the warranty info because were were so happy we finally found the couch we wanted, and it was by far the cheapest we've seen them listed for. He offered a curbside delivery for $40, but since we were 10 minutes away, we decided to pick it up ourselves. The couch was still in the manufactures original cardboard boxing, but we just had to cut open the box and put the feet on. Overall we were very happy working with them because they were friendly and responsive. I'm glad we could support a Local business.
