    Manzanita

Most of my camping has been with a tent so I was not sure of what to expect from an RV Park experience. This park is on 160 acres of beautiful high desert hills laden with Manzanita trees and old oak trees in the valleys. The tent area is separate from the RV Park and is very rural with some picnic benches, campfire pits and grilles at the sites along with close access to potable water. All the sites are shaded by lots of large oak trees that provide lots of shade in the day. Just keep in mind that this tent area is small compared to the rest of the park which was my initial first take but after all was set up and we settled in, we quickly forgot about this. There's a sense of peace and calm with all of nature's calls in the wild at your ear that takes over. There's so much birdlife from small birds to blue jays to blackbirds to owls to hawks and we saw them all day long. The mornings are just incredible with bird calls. There was also a family of wild turkeys with baby chicks in tow that passed in and out of our tent area throughout our stay. The evenings offered lots of coyote howls out in the distance from all directions. The stars at night are incredible and Stargazers Plateau was just perfect at sunset offering beautiful colors and miles of mountaintops towards the western horizon. With the sense of separation from the RV Park you are not really. The Park itself is very clean with newly topped roads, clean working bathrooms and showers throughout (easy walking distance), a clubhouse and country store that offers just about anything you really need. I did not use the pool or Jacuzzi but it looked great. This is really a beautiful place amidst beautiful 4,000 ft. country but I have to mention that the staff here really made the stay worthwhile for me. From the time we checked in with Heather and Jai, we immediately felt at ease with their lively spirit and humor. Jai is the Owner and he gave us a quick rundown of the parks amenities and informed us of basic FAQ's. He personally brought us fire wood to our site and gave us assurance that he and his staff were there for anything we needed during our stay. Later in the day, staff member Annette showed up to introduce herself and checked to see if we needed anything. The next day she gave us a tour of the whole park via an off road vehicle to show us the hiking we could do to see the rock formations and how to get back. She was great. The (tent only) entrance fee we paid for our stay was the most affordable I've ever paid anywhere with less than half the amenities this place offers. Their RV and cabin rates are also very affordable. With this in mind we were a miniscule to the potential 100+ other RV'ers that stay here yet we were treated so well and for me this says a lot about what Jai and his staff want everyone to experience when they visit... A great welcome & hospitality to families and friends. I definitely want to come back.

Beautiful place. Not crowded but we stay clear of campgrounds on long weekends. Stayed a week and will be back.

There is a restaurant, bar and multiple pool areas on site which is very nice when you are remote (no Ubers and no service). Staff was very friendly and kind, bartender Jay was an EXCEPTIONAL host who has created a fun environment in the bar, killer playlists and even set up karaoke for his guests upon request. Highly recommended getting a cheeseburger and meeting the locals who reside on the property. Cannot thank them enough for having us and showing us around. Would love to go back next time to hike and have some more downtime for the pool. THANK YOU JAY & TEAM. Can't wait to visit again.

There were fire ants everywhere, and I wish I were exaggerating when I say that cockroaches were literally crawling on both of us during the night. The campground was also very noisy, with loud music until around 10 p.m. and people driving by our tent talking loudly in the middle of the night, making it difficult to sleep. It also felt more like a full-time RV park than a campground, so it lacked the atmosphere we were hoping for. The only real positives were the clean bathrooms and the grassy area for dogs. There is a pool and jacuzzi, but neither was anything special. The pickleball courts are rundown but still usable. Unfortunately, the noise, insects, heat, and overall atmosphere outweighed the positives, and we wouldn't stay here again.

We spent 3 nights here in August of 2026 and were delighted that we did. It's an oasis in downtown Oceanside. The staff are delightful, the resort is very will organized and well maintained. There's a locked gate to enter a very short path to Buccaneer Beach. Spaces are concrete paved and the utilities are perfectly positioned. My only comment would be that there's not much room between spaces so it's tight, but still very maneuverable. Keep in mind, this is prime real estate close to the beach, so it's expected that they need to make the best use of their acreage. Paradise is a very neat place to get away.

We will be back as soon the summer hits. Walking distance to a beachy peninsular area. Onsite cornhole, chess, & connect four are in the hang area. There are trains all day long but never found it to be a major issue. The loudest noise is the duly and diesel trucks that are onsite inside camp. You can hear the ocean mostly. Definitely will be rebooking in the summer

There are restrooms (bring toilet paper) and cold showers. It's a large dirt lot on a bluff overlooking the beach. Be careful of mosquitoes during the night (I got eaten alive my first night, but was prepared and didn't get bitten the second time I went). I'd strongly recommend hitting up a Soriana or Calimax (Mexico's major grocery/department stores) in Rosarito before you get there for firewood (it's cheaper there), beer, tequila, soft drinks and snacks. There is a little shop in a hotel to the south of the campgrounds that sells liquor but at twice the price of the aforementioned stores. There is an Oxxo (think 7/11) at the entrance of the campgrounds that you can get beer and snacks at regular (low) prices. There are also two little food carts next to it that you can get cheap food but aren't always open. Too the best of my knowledge there are 4 restaurants/bars in the town, all to the south of the campgrounds. My favorite is Lighthouse which had great views, two TVs that show American sports, $3 tacos, $4 Margaritas, $3 beer. For the fishers out there, this is a great spot. The waves weren't huge and I did get a bunch of hits while fishing, hooked one but it snapped the line. I'd recommend using a Carolina rig with shrimp or clams/mussels. I wanted to use San fleas but they were surprisingly hard to find (I spent fifteen minutes and could only find two).if you do catch something, the Lighthouse will fillet and cook it for you. For the surfers out there, this seems like a good spot for consistent waves but I didn't see any huge ones. You can also rent surfboards and boogie boards at the entrance to the campgrounds. And lastly, if you decide car camping isn't for you, you can get good rooms at the hotels for between $55-$200 dollars. I stayed one night in the hotel above the towns liquor store for $55. It had an ocean view and private patio, two twin beds, not heated showers though. La Fonda has the best rooms but the cheapest is almost a $100 with no ocean view (but their proxy rooms do look good with ocean views). Come out to this spot, it's an extremely good vacation for the price. P.S. Also, you'll need a car which you can get insured in San Ysidro, Ca. The main highway to get there has tolls, which are $2 per stop, remember to have singles on you (it's between 2-3 tolls to get down, same going back).
