Let's start with this place is awesome sadly the pools are currently getting resurfaced so not a good time to come if you want some pool action . Service is great they treat you like a rock star the quality of the room is epic the gym is clean. 24 hour stop and go food station is super good gives you Las Vegas vibes in California Overall my stay was top notch ..... I can go to any casino or resort I definitely prefer viejas as my top spot here's some picture's if you don't believe me . They also a business center which is great to handle the Biz . Make sure you make a reservation this place fills up .

************************UPDATE***************************** Going into day 4 now- I contacted management after they commented on my review the same day I posted this- they still have not contacted me back - took away another star now because this is absolutely NOT the way to handle a customer at such an expensive spa. The lack in professional management is most likely the root of all the issues at this spa - my recommendation? AVOID **************************************************************** We came in yesterday for willow spa treatments only, pedicures & massages. As first time customers here- we generally only go to Syquan Spa Ritual....We did not stay in hotel at Viejas. The Spa here is very clean, nicely decorated and on a Monday holiday (memorial day) not crowded at all. They do not allow spa day passes without purchasing treatments so this helps keep crowding to a minimum, this is a spa that is on the smaller side & for us we absolutely would not come on a crowded day to this small spa. Both saunas ,(wet&dry) are pretty small, but are amazing, they work awesome and very clean. Love the touch with Himalayan salts in dry sauna. Outside, there is a luke warm jacuzzi & large salt water pool. The outdoor jacuzzi has the seating and flooring texture of rough, spikey braille that's so severe, one quick movement the wronge way and it will shred your skin with cuts. My elderly mother had to avoid it for this reason & we only used inside jacuzzi. The indoor jacuzzi was very nice and clean and although it was chlorinated, the chemicals were balanced correctly and it wasn't overwhelming with chlorine. If you need any hygine products, bring it yourself- they dont even have basic offerings like sunscreen..... There are 3 reasons I'm only giving three stars instead of 5- 1) massages, while very very expensive are not worth the price. I've had better massages at family owned mom & pop Chinese TCM shops. When your masseur needs to be reminded to work the other side of your body in the same manner, it's not a $180.00 price-range-worthy massage. I find that when tips are written in price at 15% mandatory payment, you get mediocre service. I always tip way more than 15% but these massage therapist know the buck stops at 15% so they are definitely not on their 'A' game. 2) some, but not all employees act very unprofessional in spa setting. It was a slow day, one employee was hiding in shower stall playing on her phone- in a spa, where women are naked?! Wth???!!! Also, another employee with very, very long black weave/ braids was fooling around in the mirror inside spa guests bathroom for at least 15 minutes flipping her head upside down, twisting her hair, complaining about the new hair do being like 'a birds nest', ect, ect....so much for a 'zen' tranquility type environment lol... 3) pedicures were absolutely AWESOME, paid attention to detail, really did great on calluses removal, ect, but took FOREVER! THREE HOURS! Not the nail techs fault in anyway, she was very skilled, professional and talented but SHAME ON SPA MANAGEMENT for only having one nail tech 'on deck' when we are paying top dollar and the management is forcing her to do both of us at same time. Total BS for your employee and customers. In conclusion, will not use services here again and mom & I will stick to using Spa Ritual at Syquan.

When our room at Viejas wasn't available to us, we were upgraded to a suite at the Willows Hotel and Spa. Upgrade indeed! We dropped the truck with the valet and were off to our room. We walked into a nicely appointed front room. To the right was a very nice marble topped counter and workspace with a nice office chair. It housed the mini fridge and the coffee maker and had a cupboard and dresser drawers built in. In the living area was a couch with a lounger type ottoman. There was a chair and ottoman by the window with a little end table next to the chair and a small coffee table in front. There also was a flat screen TV. The bedroom had two queen beds, two nightstands, a dresser and another flat screen TV. The bathroom featured double sinks, two closets and an epic shower with a traditional shower head and a rainfall showerhead in the center of the ceiling. I'd swear that the shower alone had more square footage than our entire bathroom at home! It even had a little nook with a built-in bench. We were sharing the room with another couple so I called the front desk for some additional bottles of water and more coffee K-cups. In less than 10 minutes there was a knock at the door. A staff member brought in a half dozen bottles of water and an entire unopened bag of about 15 K-cups. Wow! Plenty! The hotel was under some sort of construction or painting. Our view was completely obscured by scaffolding and plastic sheeting, so I cannot describe the view. My employer held our Christmas party at Viejas so we opted to stay the night. The room was $332 for the night (for a regular room, prior to our upgrade). In my estimation that's pretty steep for almost any room, anywhere. That's why we booked a double and split it. Also, they charged a $10 resort fee. Not sure what qualified as a resort amenity. The pool and hot tub were closed for the season. Every service that the spa has to offer carries its own price tag. Perhaps the gym that we did not use cost us the 10 bucks? A nice stay in a nice room and we really appreciated the upgrade, but north of $300 is too pricey for us for a night. Especially at a casino where we're bound to lose even more money. For comparison, one week later we stayed at the Marriott downtown in a room on the 16th floor with views of the bay, the Coronado bridge and into Petco Park, for under $200.

Very nice resort! Check in was fast! The young lady at the front desk was very nice. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. I will definitely be back soon! Only complaint is that the Pool closes too early and it would be nice if there was more seating in the casino lounge area where the band plays. There is very little entertainment at night besides gambling

My first time staying here and it's amazing we have a king suite and the living room is perfect with a couch, desk, fridge and coffee maker, the bed is so comfortable with all the pillows, the bathroom has a shower to put 6 people in there, the front desk was amazing soo great I will for sure come again

Despite a pretty bad first impression, I enjoyed my staycation time at the Willows Hotel. I won't go all into detail about what happened upon my check in, but I will say Tori was very professional and made up for their mishaps by placing some retention credits on my Viejas card. I had to be moved from my first room because their was no TV in the bedroom, but my suite was beyond nice. A huge shower and tub and can't forget about the Eastern King size bed, which I thought was quite comfortable. It would be nice if they had a microwave in the room for leftovers, but I survived. I actually had the buffet a few nights so no leftovers to worry about. I think next time I will stay there during maybe warmer months to take advantage of the pool area. Overall I had a very relaxing time.

I stayed at willows hotel and spa at viejas back in December and had the best staycation with my fiancé. We loved how modern and luxurious the rooms were and the size was also nice. I love that the hotel provides a washcloth for makeup removal also. We will definitely be back!

I highly recommend Rachel for a massage, especially if you have prior injuries or tenderness. She had "magic hands", reading my body well.

A 4-Star Hotel (the only one in/near San Diego), and it's worth staying at. The customer service in checking in was professional, and friendly. The pool is open, and adults only. The pool has servers and a very large bar. The room, a suite, photo's attached, was simply wonderful. The Alexa music tower in the room was the best, no other resort in San Diego has an Alexa. The dining in room services was great, you can order from a special channel from the TV, and I ordered a very large and tasty breakfast both days. The bed was amazing, and the two head shower was a delight. I will spend another special 2-3 days there again, it's perfect.

We stayed on a Sunday night and felt we had spaciousness from other guests and privacy to fully relax. Absolutely recommend visiting for an overnight stay as the exclusivity of hotel specific areas is a must to experience. The rooms are also gorgeous and minimalist by nature. That would probably pay for parking in San Diego hotels. This is a historic building and an interesting attraction in its own right. Breakfast is included and it was terrific. Food is expensive in Julian. A similar breakfast at a local restaurant would be $20. The staff are great. I met several day managers and the night security guy. They are all terrific people. It is really like staying in someone's home rather than a hotel. These is no TV. I think that belongs with the pros. The location is great. Right in the middle of town. Cons: Our room was tiny. Really tiny. Use the drawers and closets for your stuff so you don't trip over it. A side effect of the smallness of the room is that the heater/ac struggles to control the temperature . The design of any heater/ac unit presumes a room volume. The room is so tiny, the heater's built in control parameters are way off. Parking, parking is "street parking" and on a weekend, it's every man for himself. You may have to drag your bags a block or two. ---------------------- So would we stay there again? Absolutely. I would probably spend a bit more and get one of the small number of larger rooms, if available. If you want to relax and read, I cannot think of a better place. One thing I should mention, if you attempt to make reservations on line, there are half a dozen fake web sites imitating the hotel. They are put up by a dodgy travel company. They are really good imitations. I even an experienced computer user could be fooled. It is best just to call them.

It's against the ADA requirements- Q. Can hotels assign designated rooms for guests with service animals? A. No. A guest with a disability who uses a service animal must be provided the same opportunity to reserve any available room as other guests without disabilities. They may not be restricted to "pet-friendly" rooms. As for her flimsy excuse about the wildlife even though I assured her we follow the service dog rules of bathing her before trips and keeping her on a close leash. She never has barked EVER. We have never heard her voice! She was trained to not chase or even look at other animals she turns away. She is a well trained service dog from two well know legitimate organizations and is licensed. Even though by law we don't have to show her I offered to show Nan the CA service dog license and her training paperwork and card my husband carries showing who trained her and that she is allowed in ambulances and hospitals too. I explained all the tasks that she does to help my husband with his hearing loss and explained why we wouldn't allow her to ever be close to wildlife for her safety too. All in all Nan went on and on about how she had to close off the cabins before and after the dates because of covid and aerosols and the cost of insurance, the cost of doing business so it appears as if she used the excuse of wildlife and bad past experiences with people lying about pets being service animals to make us pay more by booking the larger pet friendly cabin. I kept saying my husband's service dog is not a pet and she wouldn't listen. 27 minutes on the phone I listened to her discriminate against my husband before asking one more time if since she was insisting we stay in the large pet cabin with the 3 beds we don't need could she at least just charge us the cost of the strawberry cabin since we aren't supposed to be penalized with increased charges because of my husband's disability and she said No. So I finally said well I'm going to report you and hung up. I did double check just in case there was a change in the last few weeks but there wasn't. I called the CA state park in Julian and spoke with the ranger which is the same wildlife, same forest as Nans property and they assured me that service dogs are still allowed in cabins there AND even on trails. He assured me that my husband's service dog would not interfere with the deer under her cabin at all!!! That the people staying in the cabins and even her 6 cats roaming the property could interfere more. Her excuse was a flimsy way to try to extort more money out of us. Maybe someone who was trying to pass a pet off as a service dog would have been fine with this since she does have no pets on her listings BUT a legitimate well trained service dog is NOT a pet and we know the law and we are proud of the amazing job the dog does that is potentially life saving. It's sad we are missing out what appears to be a cute cabin but I'm glad we aren't monetarily supporting disabled discrimination.
