The bathrooms are clean, the pool and spa are sparkling and the onsite store is stocked with necessities. The laundry is open 24hours, super clean though I don't use the facilities. We will be back as soon the summer hits. Walking distance to a beachy peninsular area. Onsite cornhole, chess, & connect four are in the hang area. There are trains all day long but never found it to be a major issue. The loudest noise is the duly and diesel trucks that are onsite inside camp. You can hear the ocean mostly. Waking up to the view of the San Diego bay, skyline, and the Coronado bridge every morning was amazing. This place is extremely clean. Although the location offers full hook up services, my friends and I chose to use the shared facility offered on site for showering and to go number two. Each RV space were spread out from other campers and offer enough space to park two extra cars. The campsite even had picnic tables for each area, bonfire pits, and self-laundry service. Unfortunately, you do have to be in the military to reserve a spot here. However, this is also a plus because it less crowded than other locations. I cannot wait to go back and next time I will be more prepared to bring more water sports equipment to enjoy some fun in the water! We were in spot #52 near the buoy line and you can see the fishes jump up from the water.

Everyone was polite and friendly. Lots of kids. Definitely a beautiful spot to stay. They have a small store for snacks, ice cream or souvenirs. You have a nice view of the fireworks on July 4th. After doing…read moresome research on Google we chose Desert Trails RV Park in El Centro and liked it so much we stayed an extra night! It is conveniently located next to Interstate 8, but road noise was never an issue here, nice and quiet. The park is centered around a 9-hole golf course and is home to mostly permanent residents, but there are plenty of nice, full hookup RV sites available for $45 per night, as well as water/electric only sites. It is pretty, very well maintained, and all of the personnel were nice. We would definitely stay here again!

We thought for sure it would be a place we would like to be. The entrance is gated so we had to call the office to enter. We went to the office where they gave us a pass for our car. We saw the large pool, the nice exercise room, laundry and clubhouse. There were kids in the pool splashing and playing. There is Sunbeam Lake that goes past the office and some of the sites. The lake seems more than a pond as it isn't far across but it is long and runs to the road-where it is public. They say jet skis and boats are allowed-but no swimming. There are no lake sites or lagoon sites for RVs or park models unless someone sells theirs. We drove to see the various sites. The sites are gravel though not many trees. The park just seems to be missing that personal & friendly touch. Quiet is important to us after working & living out of a suitcase for the last year-so being at an adults-only park where it's quiet is very important to us. Sunbeam Lake may be nice but it didn't connect with us.

It sits right on the ocean bluff with two sides, bluff-side (oceanfront) and streetside. Obviously bluff-side is preferred, but staying on the streetside is still a treat. A few things I love about this camping experience: - They allow all forms of camping. Tent, RV, van, etc. - The site has clean bathrooms and warm showers. Just be sure to purchase tokens at the front for the shower. - Dog friendly! You can bring your pet along but they must be on leash and aren't allowed on the beach. - Carlsbad has the most captivating sunsets, and if you're lucky, you'll even see a few dolphins. Truly the most memorable 32nd birthday activity with all my favorite people.

We pulled up to the gate and the police turned on their flashers! When I asked the park attendant why, they irritatedly said 'tell it to them', pointing at the police. As we pulled around to stop, the female attendant shrieked and pointed at us, as if we were criminals! The officers were literally sitting in their vehicle, WAITING for this to occur, because it is ILLEGAL to turn LEFT here, even though you are IN THE LEFT TURN LANE, with a GREEN arrow directing you to TURN LEFT! I was astonished at this absurd intersection and the way it MISDIRECTS drivers! I protested to the officer, who said there was a sign posted earlier in the median which stipulated 'U Turn ONLY' (NOT above the traffic light where it might actually have been seen)! I indicated I had NEVER encountered a left turn green arrow at an intersection, with an available roadway, where you were NOT allowed to turn LEFT ON A LEFT GREEN ARROW. I indicated that the generally accepted understanding across the USA is that if you are in the LEFT turn lane, and you get a left green arrow, you turn LEFT! I asked the officer to issue a warning only, he said he could not, it was 'zero tolerance' due to the volume of accidents at this intersection going into South Carlsbad State Beah Park! Their CONFLICTING traffic directions at this intersection is CAUSING these 'accidents'! And there will be more! Now I have fines, possible points on my license. TOURISTS BEWARE! This is a racket! It is also DANGEROUS!

I can officially say we are out on Oceanside RV.
