In our duplex cottage, we had our own porch area, and inside, a living room (with a sofa fold out bed), a kitchenette area (with a fridge and microwave and coffee maker), a bathroom with a shower, a little washer/dryer laundry machine, and a master bedroom with a closet. We had access to, and used, the 86 degree pool (great after hiking), and there were restaurants and a gift shop and an ice cream shop, and golf facilities. The Oasis is right next door to the Furnace Creek Visitor Center (which we didn't make it to) and the Furnace Creek campground. Super convenient, Super cute, Good food available at the Wild Rose Tavern (which we went to twice), and our cottage neighbors were great. We loved every minute! Staff are super friendly and helpful and we hope to be back.

Little cottages each had a porch with seating, flanked by palm trees, oleanders, and bougainvillea. We enjoyed just hanging out in rocking chairs, eating ice cream around the fountain, swimming in the pool day and night. We spent mornings exploring Death Valley and spent the hot afternoons here, so it was lovely to have such relaxing grounds. There are also bike rentals, a general store, an outdoor Borax "museum," and a staffed post office on-site. I felt like they took the Thunder Mountain ride at Disneyland and made it into a resort town. It was very comfortable for our family.

Everything stated below is being shared as alleged conduct based on what I personally witnessed, experienced, heard from others, or believe to be occurring. This post is protected opinion and free speech, and I encourage the appropriate authorities to investigate these allegations if necessary. In my opinion, this establishment allegedly operates under extremely questionable and unsafe conditions. I personally observed or heard repeated allegations involving rodents, poor sanitation, buffet food temperatures allegedly not being consistently checked, and management allegedly continuing operations during water outages and power failures instead of temporarily shutting down. It is also my opinion that the company allegedly prioritizes profit over safety. There were frequent concerns among employees regarding illnesses spreading around the workplace, and in my view, sanitation standards allegedly did not appear to be taken seriously enough considering the conditions employees and guests were exposed to. I also heard allegations that not all servers and bartenders allegedly possessed the proper food safety or alcohol service certifications that may be required. Employees allegedly raised concerns about training, workplace safety, and management practices on multiple occasions. Certain paintings and imagery displayed throughout the property personally made me uncomfortable and gave me what I would describe as cult-like vibes, although that is strictly my own personal opinion and interpretation. I also heard repeated allegations from employees and others about possible drug activity involving individuals around the property, including statements implying that if someone was "looking to get high," they allegedly would not have difficulty finding it there. I cannot independently verify every statement made by others, but these allegations contributed to what I personally viewed as an unsafe and unprofessional environment. There were also ongoing allegations involving underpayment of workers, paycheck issues, unsafe heat conditions, discrimination, breach of contract concerns, and employees allegedly being expected to work through conditions involving water outages, electrical issues, and extreme temperatures. Some employees and former employees also discussed allegations involving asbestos concerns within parts of the property, though I cannot independently confirm those claims and believe they should be professionally investigated if credible evidence exists. In my opinion, this was not a healthy or safe environment for workers or guests. Anyone visiting should allegedly be prepared for unsanitary conditions and should hopefully have a strong immune system because illnesses and viruses allegedly spread frequently throughout the workplace. I personally question why stronger investigations allegedly have not taken place already considering the number of concerns employees and former employees have discussed over time. I also believe workers should feel empowered to document unsafe conditions and report legitimate concerns to OSHA, labor boards, health departments, or other proper authorities without fear of retaliation. Again, these statements are allegations, opinions, concerns, interpretations, and personal observations being shared publicly under my right to free speech and should not be interpreted as established findings of fact unless officially confirmed by the appropriate authorities.

We got one of the rooms with a kitchen area and it had a nice clean working kitchen along with a nice shower and beds, all well-designed and fit into a small room. The common area outside had a couple of tables and a few chairs. The monster-size trees and beautiful flowering bushes were amazing. There is some kind of water table near the surface and some greenery, even in the middle of summer in this desert. Very well maintained, and owners are gradually making improvements on what is already a very nice motel.

Shoshone Inn (really a motel) is pretty much the only establishment in the area and was convenient for my planned expeditions, so I bit the bullet and made the reservation. Amenities: Hot shower (no tub), mini-fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker including coffee pods and creamer. Breakfast of bagels, yogurt and fruit also included. BTW the hot water was truly hot, which was nice (it's chilly here in winter). Lots of complimentary goodies (lotion, shampoo, bath gel, even eye gel and pillow spray to help you get a good night's sleep). Room: Very comfortable bed, large wardrobe for storage, and a nice desk with chair. NO CELL SERVICE OR LANDLINE phone here; but there is free Wi-Fi and a pay phone nearby for emergencies. Cleanliess was great. Service: Check-in ran a little late as my room was not ready when I arrived. Keeping in mind that the town of Shoshone has a population of 31, it must be hard to keep enough staff to get everything done. Everyone was very friendly and helpful about the process and answered all my questions. Just go with the flow. THE BEST THING: The Warm Springs Pool. Staying at the Inn gives you access to the Warm Spring Pool, which is heavenly. Shoshone is home to amazing natural hot springs (as well as their own species of pupfish adapted to live in the springs.) These springs feed the pool, which is a short hike from the hotel. Parking: Free in the lot. Tips: Bring food and supplies, there's a gas station market right next store to the motel but with limited provisions. Drive to Tecopa for more hot springs. And have dinner at Steaks and Beer (reservation highly suggested.)

I have stayed at plenty of campsites before, and this was the worst shower situation I've experienced. Unfortunately the night we stayed, the wind was also horrible. The entire night the tent was flapping like crazy and we got no sleep. Not the hotel's fault, but worth considering. We also ate at the restaurant - I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The avocado toast was great. The location is not ideal - very far away from all the places we wanted to see in Death Valley. Not the end of the world, but expect to drive a lot if you stay here. Honestly the shower just ruined it for me.

Our glamping tent was comfortable and convenient to park are car in front. We got lucky with a shady tree next to the fire pit. The wind at night kept me awake because it felt like someone was hitting our tent. The men's restroom has two showers, one toilet, one urinal, and two sinks, one wasn't working. The restroom needs a make over and is not well maintained. My biggest pet peeve is not having shelves, hooks, or towel racks in restrooms. These are inexpensive upgrades that make it more convenient to use a shower.

I have witnessed and appreciated the improvements much to my delight and the delight of hundreds of fellow hikers I bring with me to soak and relax after hiking at Death Valley or China Ranch Date Farm. Often I go expressly for a therapeutic soak just to soak and detox, not necessarily after hiking. As I recall, the original cost to soak was $10, and now is $35, which is understandable and acceptable based on the property improvements over 20 years. It is in my opinion worth the price if all goes well. However .... First Complaint On my latest visit the evening of Saturday January 10, 2026, I took 12 fellow hikers with me to soak and relax after hiking a long day in Death Valley. We were very disappointed and surprised that the private hot tub rooms and restrooms did not have any lighting whatsoever. We don't know whether the power was off, or the light bulbs were burned out (unlikely that every room had burned out light bulbs all at the same time), but it is not only very awkward and uncomfortable to stumble and fumble around in the dark, it is also very unsafe, because the hard cold floors are wet and slippery. Whether you have a question, a comment, or a booking request, please feel free to contact us anytime. You can reach us by phone or email. However there is not a way provided to email on the website to make any comments, whether positive or negative. Therefore I am writing reviews in other places since the company does not want reviews. (This is the first review for this company on Trustpilot as of this date January 13, 2026.) Second Complaint The temperature of the hot tubs was below what it should be, and what I have previously experienced, of approximately 100-105F. I would estimate the temperature to be closer to 95F. Third Complaint There has never been an effective system to remind people soaking in private rooms that the 30 minutes is up and time to rotate out to allow others waiting a turn. People who want to use a private room have no way of knowing how long the guests inside the private room have been there. Due to complaints from guests who wanted a turn inside private rooms, I witnessed the cashier in the office shut down the office in order to go remind guests inside the private rooms it was time to give others a turn. There is only one cashier in the office who manages the entire property, to include checking in and out for lodging guests, soaking guests, managing the temperature of the pool and hot tubs, etc. In all the 20 years, there has never been an effective system to manage this 30 minute time limit for rotation. Although the rooms do not come with microwaves, there's one in the convenience store that is open 24/7. It is also well stocked with snacks, water, a coffee machine, some essential toiletries, and even stuff for PB&J. The beds were a little firm, but after a long day of exploring it didn't matter much. It's about 25 mins from the Death Valley Park sign, 35 to Zabriskie Point. There was also a huge bonus: farm animals and a casino cat, Jackpot! Currently, there is a cow, a sheep, a goat, and two donkeys. The goat is VERY needy and loves chin scratches and attention. There was also a pond with ducks and geese.

There's a small casino with many slots and poker machines (more being installed during our stay). There's a cute bar where Jackpot the Cat hangs out. There's also a great onsite Cafe that we enjoyed a great dinner and breakfast at. Staff is very nice and provides quick service. I'd definitely recommend this spot if you're exploring nearby and need a nice clean interesting place to stay.
